AlarmReceiver?
Anyone using the AlarmReceiver? Does it work? Mine doesn't seem to
communicate properly. How can I tweak the DTMF settings? Is it in the
zaptel.conf or somewhere else??

alarm POTS lines
Hi,
I've brought this up in the past and there was a good discussion - am
wondering if there have been any new developments.
Our dialtone service, like I am sure is true for most ITSPs, touts the
ability to drop your POTs lines for significant savings. For businesses
we have a low-cost Atom based PBX and a "fax relay" setup locally with
hylafax/iaxmodem to solve that issue,

Alarmreceiver
Hi,
I just want to ask if anyone has some experience with Alarmreceiver application in * 1.2? Is this application reliable (according to wiki it isn't)?
I managed to communicate Asterisk (Alarmreceiver) with a burglar alarm, but it behaves very strange. Sometimes alarmreceiver is able to get some events but sometimes not.
Maybe there are some other non commercial applications which work under

*** Asterisk Sunday (hrrm) News: Moving ahead at CVS Warp 5
Sunday news is today published on a monday. Yesterday was fourth of
july, and I used that as an excuse for being off line yesterday.
(Sweden's national day is June 6th - and it's not yet a public holiday,
btw). Most of my Asterisk time lately have been used for producing
the registration site for Astricon and tracking down speakers that
haven't sent in their material for the conference

Alarmreciver
Hi,
Did anyone try to set up alarmreceiver application over IP network? Which
ATA can I use? I tried to set up it with Linksys PAP-2 but with no luck.
Maybe I did something wrong with alarmreceiver.conf (I tried diverse
settings, but nothing worked).
Sometimes alarmreceiver is able to get some events but sometimes not. I
think Linksys PAP-2 has a problem with recognizing digits in appropriate

can't install 1.0.3
Hello list,
I have been running Asterisk CVS for a good while. When I try to
install 1.0.3, asterisk won't start. Below are the last few lines of
output before Asterisk crashes. I ran "make samples" to start with a
fresh setup.

Alarmreciver finally found ATA
Hi,
I finally found an ATA which works really well with asterisk and its
application alarmreceiver. Frankly it works just like the TDM card. It is
Soundwin S800 series ATA.
Cheers
Andrew

Installing Asterisk on Mandrake 10.1 Official
I have a pretty basic Mandrake 10.2 w/KDE 3.2 and I installed Asterisk-1.0.1-2mdk. I installed the source of main and contrib from ftp, so at the install time I accepted all the packages needed to be installed too.
The installation went smooth, but when I try to execute asterisk (#asterisk -vvv) I encounter few warnings I end with an error. At this point I didn't touch any conf file, I was

PSTN Incoming call on real line disrupts VoIP call over DSL circuit
I haven't seen anything this strange, and it's 100% reproducible. I'm
hoping that there are some clever ideas out there for what to look for,
since I can test to my heart's desire on this one...
My Dad lives in Florida, and has a Bellsouth DSL line. Of course, he has
a regular POTS line connected on the same line. He has the appropriate
filters on every jack that has a phone

app_dial.c:977 dial_exec_full: Unable to create channel of type 'Zap' (cause 0)
Hi,
Ive been struggling with asterisk for a few days now. I understand
pretty much how it works and how to tie things together (SIP -> SIP
internally works fine etc), but just cannot get asterisk to work with an
X100P clone (its a Ambient MD3200, if that means anything to you guys).
I have tried (initially) asterisk 1.07 with zaptel 1.07, and now
Asterisk CVS-HEAD with zaptel cvs. Both give

T100P-E100P circuit board differences
Hi-
Perhaps someone with an E100P in hand can answer this:
I just received an E100P from Digium (I normally buy quad boards)
I noticed that the circuit board says "T100P" on it, and I assume that the
T100P and E100P both use the same circuit board.
Can someone please confirm that their E100P says "T100P" on the artwork?
Thanks

Special handling of IAX circuit-busy vs busy
Hello, we've had an Asterisk solution working for quite awhile. Today our
IAX2 carrier started reporting circuit-busy to all calls for approximately
an hour, which is different than a busy condition. I'm guessing that this
indicates the carrier was having an outage, or was handling too many
concurrent IAX2 calls.
Is there a way to change our dialplan to fail to PSTN in case Dial(*)

What happened here when transfering a call ? Circuit-busy ???
I call the firm from my portable at home (zoiper softphone). I have
internal extension 60, and I call the internal SIP-client 10 at the firm
via an IAX-connection over internet.
My colleague at phone 10 answers my call. I ask him to transfer me with
my colleague at extension 50. He then presses "transfer" on the
grandstream GXP2020 (I get music) and dials the number 50. Phone 50

------- Additional Comments From wayned@samba.org 2005-02-25 10:05 -------
I considered the short-circuit operators (-! and +!) for filter commands, but I
am not convinced of their utility. Do you have an example of a real-life
situation that they improve?
Note also that the suggested syntax for the new operators is now being used to

[PATCH] update obj->num_comments if short circuit in read_metadata_vorbiscomment_
In function read_metadata_vorbiscomment_ from stream_decoder.c, at
various locations where we short circuit the computation, we also set
`obj->num_comments` accordingly. For example:

Is there a way to short circuit the georeplication process?
We have an application that is storing an insane number of small files.
We have run some tests with enabling geo-replication and letting it run
but on our smallest data set it takes 10 days and our largest data set
will likely take over 100 days.
Would there be any way to take a copy of the data brick and convert that
into a replicated image and then enable replication from the time of the
