Jigdo, etc...
Hi folks, I've just finished rsyncing/downloading/jigdoizing the entire i386/x86_64 CentOS 4.2 distribution. If anyone is interested go to http://mirror.tcs.ii.uj.edu.pl/jigdo/ You'll need to edit the .jigdo file by hand to change the server section [Servers] CentOS42=file:/opt/mirrors/centos/4.2/ to point to a local mirror (file, http or ftp), ie. to use kernel.org: [Servers]

yum repository and createrepo
I've setup a local yum repository for about 25 workstations and I'm using rsync from a local mirror. Do I need to create my own XML headers, i.e. the 'repodata' directory, or since I'm syncing the whole updates directory can I use the 'repodata' directory from the mirror? I also have a question on using createrepo. The directory layout is: ~/updates/

All, Ignacio Vazquez-Abrams has created php-5.0.4-0.iva.0.centos4.src.rpm that works with CentOS-4. After testing this version of php, we have decided to include it in CentOS-Plus for CentOS-4. It is available for i386 and x86_64. There are several files in each distro: x86_64: php-5.0.4-0.iva.0.centos4.x86_64.rpm php-devel-5.0.4-0.iva.0.centos4.x86_64.rpm

"yum update": When is new header data downloaded? (Trying to set up custom repository...)
I'm trying to set up a custom rpm respository for some in-house software, and configure a number of CentOS 5 clients so that they may install and update the software in question from the location in question. I think I've mostly figured out how to do this - I've successfully installed software on one of the clients via "yum install <my package>" after adding an

Issues with stat() call on CentOS5 vs CentOS4
Dear CentOS, I have recently upgraded several servers from CentOS4 to CentOS5 and I am noticing a strange change to the stat() call. I have written a very small program to test and show the behavior. I am calling stat() against a file which is exported from my NAS and mounted with 32k read/write sizes. [dougalb at centos4 tmp]$ cat my_stat.c #include <unistd.h> #include <stdio.h>

firefox i386 1.5.0.5-0.el4.1.centos4
Hi all I am using CentOS 4.3 and my default language is Japanese. I am using firefox with Japanese language. I installed firefox i386 1.5.0.5-0.el4.1.centos4 update 15 M on my computer via yum yesterday. CentOS 4.3 has been acting strange! Japanese language on firefix has gone and English seems to be default language on firefox. I simply removed firefox 1.5.0.5-0.el4.1.centos4 and

local repositories
I need a clarification to the documentation. My manager added a 6.2 repo; however, when I try doing pxeboot installs, it fails, asserting that it can't find the group info. Another admin I work with thinks it's not really what it's failing in, and notes that it 404's on images/updates.img and images/product.img. We *think* that's irrelevant and ok. What is not clear to me is

Hi. There isn't a package httpd-2.0.52-41.ent.6.centos4 for centos4 in UPDATES repo. There is only a httpd-2.0.52-41.ent.6.centos4.src.rpm in SRC [http://mirror.centos.org/centos/4/updates/SRPMS/?C=M;O=D] This is probably a bug. Package httpd doesn't build ? Re: Choppy sound in voicemail usingAsterisk1.2.11 on CENTOS4 guest on vmware server
Andrew, Please find links below to sound clips from different combination. You will see that the 2.6.9.34 kernel on trixbox 2beta still does not sound ok. What did you do on the trixbox 1.2.2 vmware load to make it work better? I say better because it is still not perfect as you will notice that it accelerates near the end. I really appreciate your help and the great work you are doing. Also,

Where to download a centos4 livecd image?
Hi I can't find a place where I can download a centos4.x livecd iso I only found a centos5 image on the web. Can anyone give me an url? I'd like to clone centos4 machines, using the livecd. I used a systemrescue live cd image to create the filesystem structure with evms, and copy all files, but have problems with installing grub, because the version is not the same. I imagine it would

OT: Local Mirror problems, wrong paths to RPMs with yum update
This week I set up a local mirror for a few dists, including Centos 4.0 and 4.2, and Fedora Core 3 and 4. I'm using a script called yum-pull. For the most part I really like the script, it automates the setup of your mirrors and tries a bunch of different mirrors when it goes out to get updates, if it fails on one it tries another. It uses the usual suspects, createrepo and repoview, among

Python 2.4 on CentOS4?
Hi, Has anyone managed to find a Python 2.4 rpm binary that can be installed on CentOS4? I'm running CentOS4.6 and an application that I want to use required python 2.4 or greater. All the CentOS/RHEL4 python rpms that I find are all for python 2.3. I can't seem to find anything that works with CentOS4 libs. Thanks! Eric
