TO SYMMETRY AND ASYMMETRY-----NOW ADD SUPERSYMMETRY
Open Letter to Developers,
Is there any way you can cut through the mob scene at Homeland Defense with a powerful new encryption/decryption formula? The government cryptography bunch are stuck in symmetry and asymmetry and are deaf/dumb/blind to supersymmetry.
When it's so easy to line up a supersymmetrical hypercube fractal-to-fractal, pair-to-pair, quantum-to-quantum and slice through

Why won''t this work - simple helper text ??
Trying to print this out and it fails,
def cancel_toggle(element)
''<a href="#" onclick="new Effect.toggle("'' + element + ''","blind",
{duration: 0.4}); return false;" >Add a New Client</a>''

When called in my view like this:
<%= cancel_toggle "newClient" %>
It gets written to the browser

IAX Transfers
I'm having a strange problem with transfers on IAX phones. I have two
IAX phones behind my firewall that are extensions from my office phone
system. Both phones can receive calls, but only one of the extensions
can do blind transfers by pressing the # key. I have a similar problem
at the office. Some of the phones can transfer calls, some of them
can't. And my Zap lines can always

Weird bug in 389 Directory Server : no spaces in admin console (CentOS 7)
Hi,
I'm currently setting up 389 Directory Server on a server running CentOS 7, and
I have a weird and somehow showstopping bug.
All the spaces are suddenly missing in the admin console. Here's a screenshot
so you can get the idea :

So instead of "Standard branch for configuration information", I get

100 % positive.
I tried it on a different sandbox server without X installed, but only with
xorg-x11-xauth.

Capturing R console output into a file (sink+savehistory ??)
After reading more, I understand I didn't formulate my last question
correctly, so please allow me to rephrase:
What I am looking for is a way to save the R console session output.
That is, a command that would combine the results of using:
?sink # And
?savehistory
My motivation for this is that doing it will allow someone who is a blind
user of R to be able to easily export his results to

IAX tollfree extension conf
Hi,
I recall seeing a sample extensions.conf file that allowed tollfree
calls to be routed via iaxtel to the US and the NL, but I must be going
blind, because I've scoured the list but can't find it. Can someone
send it to me if they have it? Much appreciated. Thanks!

Style Guide for ASCII Text Documents ?
Hi,
Can anyone on this list recommend a good style guide for formatting technical
documentation (HOWTOs related to CentOS servers) using ASCII text only ?
Markdown and/or AsciiDOC are *not* an option, since these documents should be
easily readable in a text console.
Cheers from the sunny South of France,
Niki

IAX native transfers
I am having problems getting any form of call transfer working.
I have reconfigured blind transfers to be #1 and assisted transfers to
be *2 but these are not working.
Looking at the wiki
(http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+cmd+Transfer) it it does not
mention IAX so I assume I have to use the native IAX transfer supported
by Diax?
I have tried using Diax but am getting a problem that after

colors in the console
I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Up until a few days ago,
when accessing the CLI from my terminal program (Private Shell), the output
was in color. I haven't upgraded, rebuilt, or to my knowledge, changed
anything in Asterisk that would change this. My terminal settings were the
same as well. I have two computers that I access the CLI regularly on, and

Doing weird bouncing of IAX trunk calls on purpose
Ok, so this might seem weird, but hang with me on this. I have two sites, Indy and Lafayette that each have their own Asterisk server. They each have their own outside PRI line. They are also trunked internally via and IAX tunnel over a private fiber line.
I've recently been asked to have the calls incoming to Indy, forwarded to a group in Lafayette (only during the day, so can't be

Text adjustment outside (0,1)
Funnily enough, it seems that adjustment of text in the verical
direction is more flexible than in the horizontal. Horizontal
adjustment parameters, seem to be set to the closest of 0 and 1
if they fall outside (0,1). Try e.g.:
plot(0:1,0:1)
for (a in seq(-5,5,0.5) ) text(0.5, 0.5, "Y", adj=c(0,a), cex=2, col="red" )
for (a in seq(-5,5,0.5) ) text(0.5, 0.5, "X",

How to prevent logging of some entries in CDR
Hi
In order to add several phones to a single extension number, I have
replaced entries like:
exten => 100,1,Dial(SIP/sipphone100,20,Tr)
into:
exten => 100,1,Dial(Local/100 at phones,20,Tr)
[phones]
exten => XXX,1,Dial(SIP.sipphone${EXTEN})
etc
This works great. However in the CDR, than seeing one entry for each
call, I see several entries in the CDR
Worse, if I do something like:

[OT] IP Phone with Braille console for blind reseptionist
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi list,
I'm currently working on a project where the customer is employing a
blind person as receptionist: she has an Alcatel phone with extensions
and a Braille console connected via serial port. I've searched for
something similar for IP telephony, but found nothing. Has someone used
such equipment? Else I'm thinking of using a PC with

New Windows IAX Client
Announcing a new Windows-based IAX/IAX2 client. Please download it and
give it a try. Let me know about any bugs, and any missing features. I
have yet to come up with a catchy name for it, so at this point it calls
itself IAX Phone. (Suggestions? Non-derogatory suggestions,
preferably).

mob (party package) question
Dear useRs:
I try to use mob from the party package (thanks Achim and Co.!) to model
based recursive partition a data set. The model is a logistic regression
specified with model=glinearModel and family=binomial(). Running mob
results in a few warnings of the type: In glm.fit ... algorithm did not
converge. As I speculate that this may be due to an insufficient number of
iterations I am

Scriptaculous - chaining effects.
I have an element where I do a BlindDown on mouse over and a BlindUp
on mouse out...
The problem I am seeing is if I take my mouse off befor the first
blind down is all the way down, the blind flickers and it is
competing at lowering and raising the blind simultaneously.
I assume (hoping) there is some way to ether :
1) Have blind up wait till blind down is finished befor going back up
