Multiple SIP Phone Calls Overlapping on the Same Phone
I have another freaky situation that is occuring. I am getting overlapping phone calls on the same phone. Basically when a user hits the hook fast enough, the current SIP phone call connection does not get killed by the Asterisk server while a second SIP connection gets created giving the user overlapping calls. The way to reproduce this is by hitting the hook fast and furious. The telltale sign

How to tell if I've been hacked?
There is a lot of talk about the vulnerable Linux kernel. I'm simply wondering the telltale signs if a given system has been hacked? What, specifically, does a person look for? Thanks. Scott

Newbie: ISDN and Capacity Planning
Hi; I am in the process of planning a PBX/Voice mail system for a business with an ISDN phone system and somewhere on the order of 12 internal phones. The ISDN system appears to be a Primary Rate Interface, though this may be irrelevent because receptionists answer all inbound telephone calls before possibly transferring via the PBX, and most calls do not get transferred. Telephone use

Dovecot 'suicide'
I have a Dovecot installation on a Fedora 4. With the last update from Dovecot RC10 to Dovecot RC27, the daemon kills itself every night with this error: Mar 17 05:23:11 mail dovecot: Time just moved backwards by 6 seconds. This might cause a lot of problems, so I'll just kill m yself now. The error appears just after the night maintenance script executes a ntpdate syncronization ntpdate

Bugs Fixed in Trunk
I''m backed off Edge Rails and all the way back to 0.7.2 of rSpec to make my tests pass. The changes to rSpec are coming together fast and furious and they seem too good to pass up. Is there an approved way to upgrade the components in the absence of prebuilt stuff? Every time I''ve tried, I''ve been punished harshly by the Version Conflict Gods. Just asking for

Pager Notification
Hi; Before I tell a customer that this would require custom development I figured I would ask here. Does Asterisk support pager notification of new voicemails out of the box? Or do I need an AGI script to do that? Also, if I want to call a number from an automated program in Asterisk and get the DTMF tones entered by the user on the other side, is there an easy way to do this? Best

Raw Hangup messages with IAX2?
Hi All, I am running asterisk 1.2. I have a softphone connecting from a coworkers home through their router using IAX2 through our router at the office. Both have port 4569 for TCP and UDP opened and forwarded to the right pc and server. I'm seeing Raw Hangup <person's IP address>, src=0. dst=10787 messages show up in the log like 10 every 5 seconds. We can still make calls and

Eaton 5E 1100i USB UPS - failed to claim USB device error
Thank you Eyal!! Adding usbhid.quirks=0x0463:0xffff:0x08 to the kernel boot parameters did the trick for me. FYI to those using Fedora 32, to edit the command line use the tool "grubby" as follows: grubby --update-kernel=ALL --args="usbhid.quirks=0x0463:0xffff:0x08" @DEVS: Could you please re-add the code for using this UPS? It's still being sold fast and furious in

Different Formats Per User?
For migration possibilities, we're considering whether it's possible to have Dovecot run some users using standard Maildir format, while other users would be using filesystem (LAYOUT=fs) format? We could determine which one's users have, but is there a way to tell Dovecot this information, and is it even part of the Dovecot design to deal with this scenario? Thanks, Tony

[Bug 510] corrupted MAC disconnecting
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=510 ------- Additional Comments From dtucker at zip.com.au 2004-05-04 12:56 ------- Jim Knoble reports that firmware 1.45.7 fixed this issue for him: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?m=108363895306157 [quote] I've experienced exactly the same MAC corruption using OpenSSH through a BEFSR41 with that firmware; a later firmware (1.45.7, 2003-07-31)

Kernel panic in DomU when using swiotlb=force option
I'm trying to get a PVR-150 PCI card imported into a Xen DomU, however the driver blows up the kernel when loaded. The work around for this mentioned in various places is to use swiotlb=force on the DomU kernel. That leads to a fast and furious kernel panic. I've tried this with all Dom0 & DomU running kernel-xen-2.6.18-53.el5 kernel-xen-2.6.18-53.1.6.el5, bot x86 and 86_64

Cisco 7940 Phones as paging system?
Hi all; I have been searching for an answer to a question that a customer asked me and I have only found a few older answers. So, wanting to find out if anyone has any experience with this issue and can help provide me with some advice. I have a customer which is strongly interested in using Asterisk as a PBX. One of the core requirements, however, is that the system MUST be able to

xapian-tcpsrv php in real fastcgi loop
Hello, i'm fresh new to xapian (and impressed.. fast, faster, xapian). And so i have a problem with no solution at the moment. I have a webapp based on php5 in a special fastcgi loop environment (thus there are some loops spawned handling multiple requests so there is no need for php to recreate classes and Objects all the time). I implemented a xapian wrapper class to access a remote

oops, or how to bring a datacenter router down with one setting
so I gave up on bonding. I found about 300 posts showing eth0 and eth1 both pointing to br0 (bridge) as interfaces. I followed them correctly, or so I thought. I pointed both ethx to the bridge, restarted network and bam...!!! entire ip block went out. when I called datacenter they told me the router was under attack and I was like 'uh oh' and told them to just shut off my computer I
