HINTS with Polycom stops working after aster isk reload
Me too, with 3X Snom 360's in CAP positions. I just gave up in the end and
cron'd a SIP REBOOT from my * box at strategic times. If your phone supports
the REBOOT directive I'd just reboot your phone every day, 4 AM or what have
you.

Most desireable Linux distribution for Asterisk?
We have a few Asterisk boxes running under Fedora C3 with no issues.
Before we roll into full production mode, we're wondering if the gurus
prefer any particular Linux distribution?
There are pre-packaged Asterisk solutions out there based on WBEL,
CentOS and a few others, so there doesn't seem to be a "de-facto best
choice", but I figured it was worth asking.

RE: SNOM 190 '486/Busy here' after upgrade to re 3.60s
AHA! # 1 is the case! Seems the user was fooling around with the phone after
the firmware upgrade. Shame that that setting couldn't be locked out. Thanks
to Mr Tahir and Mr Stredicke for their spot on responses.

Inbound call from sip peer to internal webrtc peer fails while internal sip-webrtc calls work
Hello,
I'd appreciate your comments on the following problem I'm having, please
forgive me if this is something obvious, I've been scratching my head on
this for a while:
I have Asterisk+Kamailio setup where I'm currently testing inbound calls
from outside. I have both webrtc and sip clients, where webrtc peers are
defined according to sip.js instructions (

Solution: Samba-2.2.3a and Win95?
Hi out there,
i got a very good hint to the solution
of the problem with the error-message:
2002/02/25 15:38:52, 1] nmbd/nmbd_processlogon.c:process_logon_packet(69)
process_logon_packet: Logon from 10.170.20.8: code = 0x0

Might want to give PCI latency setting a try, it helped for me. My ZTTEST
would drop occasionally to 99.95% until I set:
setpci -v -s 01:01.0 latency_timer=ff

Problem installing Asterisk with Mandrake 9.1
Hi All,
I am trying to get Asterisk up and running on my new Mandrake 9.1 install.
I've installed Linux in the "standard" mandrake security mode, and "su" to do
my attempts at install.
I managed to obtain the source from CVS, and have been able to compile Zaptel.
I then ran insmod zaptel, and also make config.
I think I have compiled and loaded Zaptel successfully as

Fwd: Traffic Shaping on a Transparent Bridge not working!
I''m trying to shape traffic on a Devil-Linux box.
This note was originally sent to their maillist,
because the LARTC list appears to have been down
for the past few days. My mailbox was just flooded
with a half dozen or so confirmation requests in response
to my repeated attempts to subscribe to this list.

Getting an app to run
Greetings,
I'm new to wine (and linux in general) but I've found my experience
with both to be very enjoyable and I'd like to convert over fully to
being a penguin. In order to do this though, I must have functional a
required app on my home network.
This program basically monitors my satellite internet usage and informs
my entire network how much remaining usage we have (there's

CentOS 4 vs 5 for VMware?
For stability reasons, I'm running CentOS 4 for VMware (it's the devil I know).
Are there any compelling reasons to upgrade to CentOS 5 for it? I'm
relatively new to the whole virtualisation scene and perhaps there are
some updated packages that might be good for VMware?

Gastman
I've tried the precompiled version of gastman, but it does'n work properly under windows, so I would like
to try to compile it under windows, so maybe it begins to work.
I've tried to compile gastman with mingw, but the db3.1 libraries request the cygwin include files and libraries.
Then I've copied the cygwin's include files and libraries to mingw's directory,
but the make
