IPSec tunnel
Hi!
I''m testing IPSec tunnels, having the following test schemma:
Host A - eth0: 192.168.1.67
eth1: 192.168.10.1
Host B - eth0: 192.168.1.254
eth1: 192.168.20.1
I''ve succesfully configured an IPSec tunnel in order to safely
communicate from 192.168.10.0/24 (which is obviously behind Host A), and
192.168.20.0/24 (obviously behind Host B)
In this test

Shorewall + IPSec: help debugging why gw1<->gw2 SA works, but loc<->gw2 traffic doesn't trigger SA
Dear list,
I''m running Shorewall on a dedicated Fedora 7 box. Shorewall is working
well as an office DSL router (dynamic IP) with loc and dmz zones. I am now
trying to configure IPSec to connect a VPS, "casp", with a static IP to both
the firewall and to the loc network behind it. The host to host SA works
fine. However, pings from "loc" to "casp" can be

IPSec pass through
I''m getting insane here. I''m running shorewall 1.3.11 with iptables
1.2.5 and freeswan 1.97 on a 2.4.18-8 kernel aka MNF. The setup is a
followed:
Lan (192.168.1.x) - FW (eth1 192.168.1.254 - eth0 64.x.y.71) - router
64.x.y.65 (which is default GW on eth0) -internet - 161.a.b.c (FW-1)
So a windows client with checkpoint tries to connect to a vpn-1 server
on the internet. The

IPSec tunnel and routing
Hello.
I wonder how just correct couple of spdadd commands like
spdadd 192.168.1.0/24 192.168.2.0/24 any -P out ipsec esp/tunnel/10.1.0.1-10.2.0.1/require;
spdadd 192.168.2.0/24 192.168.1.0/24 any -P in ipsec esp/tunnel/10.2.0.1-10.1.0.1/require;
makes _routing_ of packets from 192.168.1/24 into 192.168.2/24.
If I understand correctly how it works on *BSD, these commands with

Using Julian Anastasov''s ''routes'' patches on 2.4 kernel in conjunction with IPSec
Hello,
I use Julian Anastasov ''routes'' (to be more specific: static_routes,
alt_routes and nf_reroute) patches on a 2.4.32 kernel. On the same host I run
IPSec. I have discovered after a few hours of networking problems that,
when IPSec is enabled on that patched kernel, inspecting packets with tcpdump
while arping-ing a host from a network physically connected to this

IPSec tunnels and routing: strange behaviour
Hello,
My name is Fermín Galán and I''m currently working with IPSec tunnels.
Recently, I was setting a IPSec tunnelling sample scenario (maybe the
simplest one :), where I observed some strange behaviour that I like to
describe in the list, just in the case somebody knows what can be the cause,
please.
The scenario involves four hosts configured in the following way:

Problem with Remote Announce
Hi,
I've been running Samba 3.5.18 on ClearOS 5.2 for a while now. I have a
server on its own LAN's (192.168.2.0/24 and 192.168.3.0/24) and an IPSec
VPN through to 192.168.10.0/24. The remote LAN is just one machine on
the other side of a router. I've been successfully seeing its netbios
name and I've been able to ping the remote PC by name and browse it and
vice versa. A few

List Suggestion for routing/ipsec discussion
Since I believe that questions reguarding Linux routing and IPsec are
off-topic for this lists, can anyone point me to a good list for these
questions?
I''m trying to figure out the routing for a network containing a mesh of
IPsec tunnels. (We now have almost 40 tunnels.)
Thanks,
A.

conditional routing based on tos/fwmark not working with ipsec
Hello all,
I am working with kernel 2.2.20 with the necessary options configured into
the kernel to support all of the wonderfully fancy routing features:
- routing based on ToS
- routing based on fwmark
- multiple routing tables
This same kernel is in use elsewhere, and is routing based on fwmark with
success. This leads me to believe that my kernel is OK and that I have

www over ipsec behind shorewal problem
This one is a bit complex so if no help is forthcoming, I understand.
I have 2 shorewall firewalls (1.3.13) up and running. (both machines running
Gentoo Linux 1.4_rc2) I have freeswan (1.98) running on each of them. I have
squid setup as a caching/filtering server on each of them. Each of them was
originally setup using the Two-interface Quick Start Guide. Then the Squid
guide and then the IPSEC
