VoIP service recommendation
I am planning to sign up for a VoIP service in the U.S. Can anyone recommend anything cheap, reliable and good quality? I want to use it for my primary house phone (I also own a cell phone). I also want the service to be asterisk friendly so I can play with it :-) Thanks in advance. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Cisco and "protocol application invalid"
Hey all! Have configured a Cisco 7960 with no problems, put up an TFTP server and it downloaded new sip binaries ? all went well. However, now I am having trouble getting two 7040s to work. Basically, my problem is the above stated error message. If I had any entries in the TFTP logfile, I could probably solve this problem. But the thing is, it just doesn?t look as if the phones are

More Success on the Cisco 7920 and SCCP !!!!!
Hi All, have some decent success on the 7920 "activation" in Asterisk. Latest status: chan_skinny does NOT work with 7920 chan_sccp does WORK with 7920 (!!) however: to remove coredumping the chan_sccp just comment out the MWI (messagewaitingindicator), then it compiles fine. Then change sccp_helper.c: return "P0060302" instead of the old value. and voila: Phone is

new ocfs2 release?
Hi ocfs2 developers, there are some news about the schedule for a new ocfs2 release that solve the actual bug/limitations? I can see an 1.4.7 release tagged here: http://oss.oracle.com/git/?p=ocfs2-1.4.git;a=summary Is there a planned release date? in my environment (about 5000000 files with 300000 new files/deletion per day) I see load until 1000 and I/O almost blocked for some hours of the

Silence supression
Hello all! First of all, this is my first post to the list. I've tried to find my answers in the forums and by Googling , but no luck. My apologies if this question has been answered before. I've set up an Asterisk box with four local SIP users. The Asterisk box uses a SIP provider for placing external calls and receiving incoming calls as well. In other words, there's no PSTN

chan_skinny & XML Files for 7920
Hi, I have a Cisco 7920 that I'm trying to get working with my * box. When the phone boots it requests XMLDefault.cnf.xml and SEP<MACADDRESSHERE>.cnf. I assume I set the line number, etc in the latter of the two. However I cannot find any reference to how this file is structured. Anyone know? I assume this is why I'm getting the errors below: Oct 17 19:47:24

cisco 7920 makes 7940 reboot
I have asterisk 1.09 running with chan_sccp.20050701 on Fedora core 4 with kernel 2.6.12. I have a Cisco 7940 working with X-lite working on XP too, connecting to each other, Asterisk and FWD. The 7940 upgraded to SIP7.4 with xmlDefault.cnf.XML getting delivered via tftp using the loadInformation8 parameter method taken from voip-info.org ("Configuring Cisco 79xx phones with Asterisk"

Cisco 79xx + asterisk + some functions Q
Hi, I am new to Asterisk and have some general questions _before_ I start buying equipent to install and get everything up-and-running. (this means I have no running Asterisk (yet)). I have read already a lot of doc, but some things are not clear to me, since I'am inexperienced in Asterisk and PBX. The goal: Make PBX using Asterisk and Cisco 79xx equipment for 25 phones (1 x 7970, 4 x 7960,

Fwd:[Vocal] Question about Cisco IP hard phones
Interesting notes on the 79xx series. The 7920 is the wireless phone; not mentioned here. For a more complete guide to Cisco's phones, see: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/phones/ps379/products_data_sheets_list.html The 7902 is the "very inexpensive" Cisco phone, and it looks like it will be SCCP (Skinny) only. Twiddling my thumbs here waiting for the chan_sccp to

MCMCglmm heteroscedasticity dependent on predictor
Hi, I have a dataset where the residual variance decreases with on one of the predictors (population size). Currently, the full model looks like this: prior<-list(R=list(V=1e-16, nu=-2),G1=list(V=diag(2), nu=2)) m<-MCMCglmm(response~poly(population size,2)*poly(other predictor,2)+time, random=~us(1+time):population, data=data, prior=prior) Basically, it's a random regression with

Jetway, Atom, and Digium cards - play well together?
Hi, I'd like to know from other people's experience using Asterisk and Digium cards like the TDM410P and B410P on Atom system (.e. giwth D525 CPU) and Jetway motherboards. Any operational instability, unexpected freezes, etc or in your experience it's a stable combination? Thanks in advance for any sharing! Asterisk + Cisco 7920 + chan_sccp or chan_skinny
Greetings, I have seen a few postings in the past regarding the interop of Asterisk and the Cisco 7920 WiFi phone. To date, I have not seen a definitive method to getting the phone working. Assuming someone has this actually working, can that person step up and answer these questions. 1) What Channel is it working with (chan_skinny or chan_sccp)? 2) If code was used that is not a part of a

vfs_streams_xattr and create mask = 0640 don't play well together
Hi everyone, We are working on the deployment of samba 4.2.3 on Solaris 11.1 with ZFS backed storage. We plan to use the new vfs_fruit in order to better support our OSX clients out there. Everything seems to be working fine so far, but one operation: If the user on an OSX client sets (or modifies) a tag (the colour flags or a custom tag) on a directory *AND* the share is configured with
