rsync via tunnel - 3 boxes separated by internet
Hi, I have searched the archived, and see this question has come up with some frequency, but the solution by the original poster is never posted or the question is not answered completely. I have also RTFM (rsync and ssh), and I've been trying examples that I have googled. So here it is again. BoxA --internet-- BoxB (accessable only by ssh) -- BoxC I want to backup BoxC to BoxA. I want

load balancers and mongrel
We have a load balancer sending requests to one of X boxes and one of N mongrel processes on that box. Since each mongrel processes is multi-threaded but it has a mutex around the section that calls rails, we end up with several requests queued up waiting when they could have gone to another box with a free process. For example, boxA, and boxB. boxA has mongrels 1 through 10 boxB has

v1.8.4: Extension Not found in Context?
Hello All, This is probably another one of those completely silly questions that I'm going to hit myself later on, but I have the simplest issue right now but I can't figure out why it's happening: I have a trunk from one * box (box a) to another * box (box b) the call comes in from box a with an extension 2222 which acc. to the peer config in sip.conf is set to use context

Quick and dirty too hungover to think/search... ;) Sorry list AsteriskBoxA -> SBC/PSTN voodoo -> world wide Interweb -> AsteriskBoxB Account on BoxA UsernameJohn<12125551212> Account on BoxB UsernameJohn<102> They're both the same users, had to do some funky trunking (managed firewall provider is playing not in my backyard games)... Wacky Failover Situation w/SIP - Bug?
I have a weird situation. A polycom phone is configured to use system pbx1 as the primary outgoing 'proxy', followed by systems pbx3 and pbx2. All three systems have identical sip.conf files. The phone is registered on pbx1. I shut down the Asterisk application on pbx1. I make a call. The phone sends an INVITE to pbx2. Pbx2 sends back a 407 Proxy Auth message to the phone. The phone sends

It seems that I am having a heck of a time explaining my attempts at distributing ACD Queues to the list. IAX Incoming/Outgoing
I'vce got three Asterisk systems here that I'd like to be able to place calls between with IAX. As usual, I've spent several hours playing with it, really getting nowhere. Asterisk is so mentally draining. Each system, pbx1, pbx2, pbx3, should be able to connect to every other. Do I need separate user/peers or can I combine them into a single user=friend for each system? if I place a

Otherwise I will inotify Monitor WAVs, what is bad :`( After installing jack from sources: Add system-wide

RE: Asterisk-Users Digest, Vol 20, Issue 184
Hi Joseph, With iax servers dispersed across the internet, you could still use the below setup, it would work but it's not as secure as you would want it. I would then have a context for each server and use the IP address deny and permit statements. Also, you can have 1 server with a public IP and have the other servers behind a NAT register to the public server. There are really several

Patton 5.3. How to get incoming calls ?
Hi, I'm trying to configure a 4638 to pass inbound and outbound to and from ISDN and SIP interfaces. I'm using web interface at the moment. Setup is: ISDN -- <BRI> -- Patton 4638 -- <SIP> Asterisk -- <SIP> -- <IP Phone> I can call from IP phone but can't receive any incoming call : I can't see any SIP message coming in when a call comes in. Previously,
