Feedback needed! FindMe/FollowMe FeatureSpec.
Hi Adam, I appreciate your feedback, and understand totally where you're coming from as far as the database perspective goes. For the first "draft" of the app, I think I'm going to let it default to using a conf file for two reasons. First, my setup currently does not utilize a database. I would like to move to that type of a setup in the future however. Secondly, seeing as

Feedback needed! FindMe/FollowMe Feature Spec.
Hello all, I'm going to tackle learning C this week, and start writing my first * add-on/contribution; assuming it's actually worthy of contributing once it's done.. I think I've chosen a hefty project for my first go round here... I'd like to get some feedback from everyone on a FindMe/FollowMe spec I've put together. Before you read on, let me say, I don't want

Findme problem
Greetings all, I've been working on having Asterisk put a call through to two different numbers, and give the call to the first one that acknowledges by pressing the 1 key. I found an example on the wiki, but I can't get it working. When I answer the call I hear the message telling me to press 1 to connect, and as soon as the message is done, the call is connected. In other words, it

rsync over Iridium modem, 240 bytes per second
Dear rsync gurus, I'm using rsync to transfer large amounts (megabytes per day!) of data over an Iridium modem link (240 bytes per second) from Antarctica. One problem is that the Iridium link has a mean uptime of perhaps 30 minutes. Implementing partial transfers is crucial, so I was using rsync -av --partial --partial-dir=.rsync myfiles user@host: The files are pre-compressed with

new release 3.4.0 - critical security release
The popt changes came from upstream popt. We have Solaris and FreeBSD CI tests, along with linux, but don't have a method for testing other platforms. If you submit a PR to fix this, please consider a way we can test the fix in CI. new release 3.4.0 - critical security release
I'd also note that the patches for 3.4.0 were made available to 81 different vendors via VINCE since 18th December (under embargo to give time for vendors to prepare). It is unfortunate that it didn't cover the platform you are building for. What platform is it btw? Another issue here in findme.c. strlcpy() is a BSD-only method and definitely not portable. Please consider other platforms when creating patches. I can provide a patch to this patch also. rails + apache2 + mod_auth_mysql + headers
Hello list! I must confess i am kinda new to rails and my experience is truly limited. I am searching to do a *quite* simple thing with rails. I have a db. It has a table with users etc and works fine as it is. I now want to add some very simple authentication mechanism. Instead of authenticating through the use of a rails plugin that handles sessions etc, I want to be able to route the

Iridium integration / gateway
Hi list, I have a request to integrate Iridium in a Asterisk system. A quick search didn't return much: I expected to find products similar to GSM gateways, but this does not seem to exist. so I'd be very interested about possible solutions. Has it be done already, how? Thanks, -- Jean-Denis Girard SysNux Syst?mes Linux en Polyn?sie fran?aise

RSYNC "make" problems with HP UX 11.0 & GCC 3.3.2
I am an rsync newbie trying to setup rsync on a HP UX 11.0 server, but am running into problems in my "make". I am using gcc version 3.3.2 and rsync-2.6.6.tar.gz. Would any of you have ideas on troubleshooting this issue? I haven't had much luck googling info on this, with the exception of switching from HP's simple c compiler to gcc. The warnings and errors I am recieving

Find me macro - calling multiple people to get a hold of one
Hi list, We're trying to set up a phone number that customers can call to get a hold of anyone of a group of sysadmins (and not their voice mails!). We found the findme example ([1]) that makes the callees press 1 to accept the call. It almost works, but it doesn't work correctly when one of the callees, the sysadmins, hangs up after accepting the call. We're using this

Stuck. Extenions.conf? Realtime? MySQL? Grrrrr!
Boy, am I stuck... I'm officially ready to toss Asterisk out the window. I have to admit it isn't necessarily all the fault of Asterisk either. It just seems that every option I turn to suddenly ends in failure. I don't know if it's me that's bitten of more than I can chew with this project, or maybe Asterisk just isn't mature enough yet. Nothing complicated really....
