How to support iSCSI multipath...
Hi Bootmeisters, I am using gpxelinux.0 + sanboot.c32 to boot a diskless machine into Linux. I would like to use device-mapper-multipath to provide fault tolerant access to its root disk. Although I am able to do this by hardcoding the additional paths in the initrd, it would be better if the bootloader could pass the information in the iBFT (iSCSI Boot Firmware Table). However, at the

TFTP Server Facing the Internet
Since we're chatting about tftp servers... Let's say I have a new customer with Cisco 79xx phones, and he desires to SIP register on my Asterisk system. I would have to provide the SIP<mac>.cnf and SIPDefault.cnf files on my tftp server for his phones. These files would be world readable, which I don't want. Is the solution to put the tftp server behind the firewall and

DHCP, the TFTP Server setting and the Cisco 79xx phones
The thing I dislike the most about the 79xx phones is that in DHCP mode, they expect the DHCP server to tell them their TFTP server address. They won't let you set it manually. So if I don't have DHCP server that gives TFTP server info, which is most of the DHCP servers at out there, then the phone won't be able to download any updates made to the SIP000*.cnf file. Using dhcpd on

This mailing list is being spam filtered on my site.
Sorry if this not the right place to post this.... BUT... Since May 31st, ALL of these user list messages have been filtered by "spamassassin" running on my Linux box. - Claim to be listed in "Bayes" as spam. - Have no clue why this is happening. Luckily, "spamassassin" sent the messages to the "probably-spam" folder on the Linux box & I was able to

Remote Connection to Asterisk
Hello all - This is basically an updated re-posting of one I've posted a few days ago. Thanks to the kind help provided but I still can't make it work. But I'm moving a little further down the line (thanks to you folks). Basically, I've got an Asterisk server in a LAB ENVIRONMENT on my home LAN. The server has a Wildcard TDM400 installed but has no POTs lines/phones connected.

[CentOS 5] tftp-server, unable to create new files (even with "-c" option)
Hi all, I'm trying to setup a TFTP server to serve as repository for the config of all my Cisco network devices. As per the the tftpd man, I've added the "-c" option into the /etc/ xinetd.d/tftp (as follows) but I still cannot get write access (unless the file is already present). [root at chl1 ~]# cd /etc/xinetd.d [root at chl1 xinetd.d]# cat tftp # default: off #

help diagnosing tftp server on centos 5
Hi all, I have a centos 5 box I have setup, current with updates. (I have done this many times on centos 4). I did the yum install tftp-server, changed the /etc/xinetd.d/tftp file as shown. # default: off # description: The tftp server serves files using the trivial file transfer \ # protocol. The tftp protocol is often used to boot diskless \ # workstations, download

Help! - Double NAT issue
Hi folks. Please don't flame me but I've been googling around for days, read a tremendous amount, tried everything, and still no go. This is most definitely a typical newbie question. - I sure hope there's somebody(s) out there who'll humble themselves to help me out. I've set up an 'out of the box' basic Asterisk server running on Slackware Linux. - It basically

New C7960 won't tftp?
Just received a new Cisco 7960 (not refurb, but brand new) and it won't tftp the initial config file (OS79XX.TXT) from an FC3 box. The 7960 does get an appropriate dhcp response including the tftp address. Using a sniffer, I see the tftp request being sent from the 7960 to the FC3 box, but the FC3 box responds with error code 4 (Illegal TFTP opertion) and an error message of "Request not

pxelinux limits on imagefile for tftp transfer?
Hello specialists In setting up a diskless X-Terminal I got stuck with the transfer of the ramdisk from the server to the target. With a ramdisk image size of about 60 Mb things go well, the file gets transfered completely and Linux boots perfectly. With a ramdisk image size of about 104 Mb the tftp transfer of the kernel succeds but the transfer of the ramdisk image fails. As tftp daemon I

Cisco tftp
I'm writing a program to quickly generate SIP<Mac>.cnf files for tftp configuration of the 79XX series of Cisco phones and would ask that anyone who is interested in using this please send me working examples of your SIP<Mac/Default>.cnf, and RINGLIST.dat files. Also, please send me your ring tones and * related logos for possible inclusion. Thanks, Christian Hoffmeyer YottaDot

Does pxelinux tftp support BLOCK-SIZE option
Hello, Does PXELINUX support tftp BLOCK-SIZE option? If so, what would be the maximum BLOCK-SIZE that can be used for the transfer? The RFC says that the range can be [8 - 65536]. Thanks, Sowmya

ALTERNATE TFTP SERVERS
Hello there, I suceeded in setting up WDS with PXELinux. Now I'm trying to point the primary tftp server with pxechain.com to a second tftp server. Actually it will just load the specified kernel, which is given through APPEND. After that the tftp client just freezes. Do I need to start with another tftp? The actual used tftp (and DHCP) server comes from Win2008 R2 Server. (Using Syslinux

PXE over HTTP instead of TFTP - flip flopping OS boots
Is there a way to boot PXELINUX 100% over HTTP instead of TFTP? I can pull over pxelinux.0 via HTTP (DHCP config) but all the config files are pulled over via TFTP. DHCPD config file example: filename "pxelinux.0" ; # boots via TFTP filename "http://10.1.1.10/pxelinux.0" # boots via HTTP My goal is to alternate booting between Linux and Memtest for some hardware stress

alternate tftp server
i just discovered the alternate ftp server syntax for pxelinux in the changelog today. this interests me as I would like to use pxelinux on a linux box to give a config file which tells pxelinux to fetch the windows 2003 bootloader program (actually startrom.n12 from windows 2003) from the windows box. IE: label windows kernel 192.168.1.2::startrom.0 since i can watch the fetching of

problems with tftp-hpa timing out.
I'm difficulty diagnosing a tftp-hpa problem. Specfically, when performing a PXE boot, the machine hangs at the "TFTP...." and times out. This is only occuring at one network location (we'll call it network A). Now on network B, the computers on network can tftp boot no problem. If I run a tftp client from my workstation to connect to the tftp-hpa server on network A, I can

Grandstream TFTP system wide settings
Hi, Aastra IP Phones have two configuration files on TFTP, aastra.cfg and <mac>.cfg. Both are in text format, which makes editing easy. And aastra.cfghas system wide settings and <mac>.cfg has settings for each indivifual phones. This makes it really easy to change the global parameters system wide by changing only one aastra.cfg file. On the other hand, as I could understand, for

I did the following to setup the tftp server. Download tftp from ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/software/network/tftp/tftp-0.40.bz2 tar -jxvf tftp-0.40.bz2 cd tftp-0.40 make make install mkdir /tftpboot chmod 777 /tftpboot chown nobody:nobody /tftpboot changed /etc/xinetd.d/tftp file to "disable no" service xinetd restart Now when I connect I get in /var/log/messages "tftpd: read(ack):
