using Paraview "in-situ" with R?
At ORNL, we worked with VisIt (a sibling of Paraview, both funded largely by DOE) around 2016 and made an in situ demo with R. We used packages pbdMPI (on CRAN) and pbdDMAT (on GitHub/RbigData), which were in part built for this purpose. Later also the package hola (on GitHub/RbigData) was built to connect with adios2, which can do buffered in situ connections with various codes.
But the VisIt

Call Parking Problem
Hi,
I'm unable to pick up parked calls after they are transfered.
I get the "transfer" message when I press # and then I'm told "701" The
extension I'm dialing goes to the on hold music. I'm disconnected, I hang
up, dial "701" and I see this message on the console "Everyone is
busy/congested at this time"
I just have the default

dialing with different speed
Hi all,
I have a VOIP phone with the PA1688 chip; my firmware is V1.42.028.
This IP phone is registered in an Asterisk PBX and I've a problem when I dialing internal number.
If I dial an internal number, like for example 102, the IP phone takes 35 seconds to send the number to Asterisk; here below the debug output
192.168.0.75: first
192.168.0.75: 1
192.168.0.75: 10
192.168.0.75: 102

Upgrading in situ, then yes you can use the same data and to be honest,
you should, but if you demote a DC, NEVER user the same name again
(well not until you are 100% positive there are no traces of the old
name in AD, probably at least 6

Asterisk to a Huawei softX3000
Greetings,
I'm having a job getting asterisk to register with a Huawei softX3000
softswitch via SIP. I keep getting 401 Unauthorized. Funny thing is I can
successfully register SJPhone, a PA1688 IP Phone as well as a WiFi Phone
against the switch without *any* problems. I think it's got to be something
as simple as perhaps the register string which is currently

Brillouin index
Dear colleagues.
I wonder if anybody knows about a procedure in R to calculate the Brillouin Diversity index.
I searched the net but did not find anything about it.
Thanks a lot for any help

Can browse files but can't open them
Hello
I have a new Debian installation and am trying to open files on another
computer. So far I can browse that other computer by using smb://192.x.x.x
in my file manager (PCManFM). But when I try to open a file for editing, I
can't. Typically what happens instead is that the right application
launches as if to open the file, but it remains empty, i.e. no document
gets loaded.
I notice as

Q: replacing elements in an array
Dear all,
I have a question about the way the replacement of elements in an array
works in R (having a slight idea of the answer), and a question about
the way to achieve my goals.
If I have a 3 ways-array called 'a', the command
a[1, , ] <- rnorm(10) # assumes the size matches
will result in having the whole object 'a' copied (since arrays are
just 'vectors with

I'm just wondering if anyone knows the story with these...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5721202362&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT
He claims they support IAX2 and SIP... but almost no history on the account selling them. I didn't see anything in the wiki about this company either..
Does anyone have any history with these phones?
Thanks,

read-only problem in 3.0.0
We have a problem with shares that we would like to keep read-only for
some users; it worked with 2.2.8a, but with 3.0.0 there is this odd
behaviour: Users with read-only privilege can browse the files, can
copy them out of the share (eg to their own hard disks) and open the
copies, and can open the files in situ with Notepad; but if they try to
open files in the share with Excel, for example, or

Special Delivery from China
I received a sample IP/Speakerphone from my friends in China today.
Asterisk setup was fairly uncomplicated and I had it running as an
extension on my server within a few minutes. Sounds quality of both the
receiver and the speakerphone are fine (wife's opinion). Are there any
tests I should run with this phone?
Following are the specs:
- Single line appearance
- Alpha display, 2x16 chars

How to rewrite a CALLERID on outgoing calls
Hello all,
is here anybody who have any idea how i can insert a script or program to
rewrite a callerid with special rules. This ist necessary because of many
moving mobile offices who changes the telefonenumbers in short time
distances. I've found the SetCIDName feature. But this doesn't work in my
relation.
The phones from wich the calls are, are connected via OH323 Module and

CentOS-5.8 - Problem booting remote host
Kernel 2.6.18-308.8.2.el5
I recently experienced an odd problem with a host at our warm-site
location. The facility we use suffered an hvac failure during
elevated ambient temperatures (30C+) on Monday past and the equipment
room reportedly cooked for some hours. It was sufficient that our
equipment shutdown. In all probability this was due to an over-temp
condition since the systems are all

Read many cvs files
Hello R helpers,
I would like to automate this code for many files of the same type. But I
don´t know how to make it. In particular, i don´t know how to read many
files each one as an r object with the name of the file. Then a for loop
would be sufficient, right?
Many thanks and a happy new year.

Evaluation of the Samba-tools rename functionality
HI,
Just an update on this samba-tool (V4.17.4) ..rename functionality, against a 2008SP2 level AD.
(also in case anyone else is mad enough to want to attempt this.)
The rename tool, seems to do a fairly good job,
However there are a couple of other fields that could do with being flushed/fixed during the rename.
This one which breaks MS tools(with continuous looping & modal
