OT: Asterisk and ISDN cards = ISDN simulator for Cisco lab?
Hi, I'm wondering if someone tried to use Asterisk and ISDN as an ISDN simulator for Cisco lab. Searched the net but I didn't find anything. Thank you, Mihai ____________________________________________________ Start your day with Yahoo! - make it your home page http://www.yahoo.com/r/hs

Cisco, Sip, Linux, ISDN
I am one of the few people left in the US with a ISDN connection to the internet. (Internet cable has been promised "Real Soon Now" for a couple years). Worse, my home network runs on a decrepit Cisco 2500 series router, and is double-natted via a firewall, which is why I currently use iax to call anywhere. I have been making ever-increasing use of my asterisk PBX, and I'm ready

Japanese ISDN BRI card for asterisk (INS64) where to start?
Hi All, I currently run asterisk in our office (in Japan) and use a cisco PRI gateway for connection to the PSTN. I would like to setup some more systems for our smaller offices (in Japan) that would use BRI and preferably using a PCI card in the asterisk box and not a seperate Cisco gateway (expensive). HOWEVER, Japan has this INS64 protocol for their BRI lines and im not sure what cards

ISDN BRI termination via Cisco?
Greetings - We've a pair of ISDN BRI that we use for dialtone, fairly happily except for the recent meltdown of one of our Netgear RT338's. We're in the middle of slowly migrating to a VoIP/Asterisk-on-FreeBSD based phone system. I had originally considered just buying a Digium TDM400 card and continuing to use the RT338's to bring out POTS lines from the BRI's, but the

RCAPI ISDN Support
Hello. It seems very very strange to me that nobody talks about connecting ISDN lines to asterisk using a device with RCAPI Support. There are some devices (most of them isdn routers, like the famous Cisco 800 family) that support this protocol. It basically is an ISDN to IP gateway. There used to be software that used this technology to send and receive faxes, act as voicemail and even ISDN

Call Transfer over Fritz!-ISDN Card with i4l does not work
Hello everybody! After checking the complete wiki and the mailinglist archives I still haven't really found out why the following constellation does not work. We have an asterisk-System with some SIP-Phones and an old ISA Fritz-ISDN-Card used with i4l. The whole system is integrated in out (ISDN-)PBX for testing. The ISDN-Card is properly configured, as we are able to phone out, receive

ISDN Error Code 42
Hello All, Just got one general question on ISDN error code 42. As per Cisco docs and Wiki (http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+variable+hangupcause) it says "Switch equipment Congestion" with explanation "The destination cannot be reached because the network switching equipment is temporarily overloaded"... My question is are the calls treated as

ISDN (point to point) questions
Hello; we are looking to replace our current PBX with a *-box; it is connected to ONE ppp isdn connection that is terminated by the NC. We got on this box 4 msn's configured. currently we are working with pstn fxo's behind the PBX; it works but we can't use the CSID information behind it. We want to migrate and keep the MSN's to decide routing in combination with the CID.

Securing Cisco SIP gateway
Hello asterisk community, I have successfully set up asterisk as a SIP PBX and now would like to connect to the outside world using a Cisco 2600 with VIC-BRI as an ISDN gateway. This works already in the lab, but I have security concerns before conecting the gateway to the internet. I currently don't know exactly what VoIP services the Cisco runs by default besides SIP (H.323, MGCP, ...)

Advice on BT ISDN Services (UK)
Hi all, I've been playing about with Asterisk for years now on and off, just SIP to SIP calls, using FWD and suchlike. I'm moving house at the beginning of September and have decided to build an Asterisk based system for my home office. I'm in the UK and wonder if anyone can give me advice on lines and hardware to use. Had planned to go with an ISDN2e line coupled with a BT

Need ISDN call generator
Hi To troubleshoot FreeBSD panics triggered by ISDN load on an asterisk system, we are looking to buy an ISDN call generator/simulator device. The minimum requirements include: - Not too expensive - PRI support (BRI support is a plus) - CCS+CRC4 farming + HDB3 coding - EuroISDN (DSS1) support. - A minimum of 4 ports (120 channels/concurrent calls) - Compatibility with Digium cards. - DUT in TE

Hi, I live in Italy and I have an Asterisk 1.0.7 box with a HFC monoBRI card connected to my cisco router which is connected to FastWeb provider: does anybody knows why every time my cisco router turns off, my telephone connection to Fastweb drops (while internet connectior is ok)? Restarting Asterisk is worth nothing. TIA Giorgio --

ISDN, CISCO and SCCP call forwarding
Hi, I need to set up call forwarding from the operator to one of our internal numbers. Asterisk get the incoming call and Operator A or B answer to the call. Then he/she should redirect the call to any of our internal numbers or an internal group. I'm using CISCO 7912 fot the client and two CISCO 7960 for the operator all with chan_sccp. How can I make it possible? Thanks in advance to

Asterisk and Cisco PRI gateway config
Hello, I am using a Cisco-2,811 router with PRI as a gateway between Asterisk and Nortel TX-1. I had problems with name transfer and with the help of Cisco support I've fixed it. Enclosed here are the definitions needed for it. BTW, Cisco's CCM is using MGCP thus the Q.sig is handled by CCM. Here I am using SIP so the router must decode/encode the Q.sig. The Nortel should be defined
