melting a list: basic question
Dear list, I'm trying to use the reshape package to perform a merging operation on a list of data.frames as illustrated below, > a <- 1:10 > example <- list( data.frame(a=a, b=sin(a)), data.frame(a=a, > b=cos(a)) ) > > melt(example, id = a) this produces the desired result, where the data.frames have been coerced into one with a common identifier variable

Warning from reshape2 when melting a data frame with uneven number of columns.
Here is a small reproducible example: data <- structure(list(V1 = structure(1:3, .Label = c("Name1", "Name2", "Name3"), class = "factor"), V2 = structure(c(1L, 3L, 2L), .Label = c("nam1", "name-1", "name_12"), class = "factor"), V3 = structure(1:3, .Label = c("nam2", "nam_34",

Warning from reshape2 when melting a data frame with uneven number of columns.
Is this the solution? > d1<- as.data.frame(lapply(data,as.character),stringsAsFactors=FALSE) > str(d1) 'data.frame': 3 obs. of 5 variables: $ V1: chr "Name1" "Name2" "Name3" $ V2: chr "nam1" "name_12" "name-1" $ V3: chr "nam2" "nam_34" "name-2" $ V4: chr "nam3"

Warning from reshape2 when melting a data frame with uneven number of columns.
I am not really sure what the warning means but I think your underlying problem is that all your variables are factors. Did you intend the values in each variable to be character? data.frame':??? 3 obs. of? 5 variables: ?$ V1: Factor w/ 3 levels "Name1","Name2",..: 1 2 3 ?$ V2: Factor w/ 3 levels "nam1","name-1",..: 1 3 2 ?$ V3: Factor w/ 3 levels

melting columns
Hello, I'm using R to run a acoustic analysis software called Seewave. I ask the code to extract a list of variables from my recording, and the program give ONE table for each of these. The tables consist of a two column data.frame with the time in column 1 and the frequency in column 2. However, for my purpose I need only one column with the time first and the frequency second. I tried

My status
Hello list, In case anyone's wondering why I haven't been replying here much lately: 1. I've been busy working (you know, paid work) on full text search indexing redesign. That change was a bigger job than I realized at first (mainly due to virtual mailboxes), so I've been a bit stressed/frustrated over it. I finally finished it today though, so that's over now:

Syntax Check: rshape2 melt()
This is my first excursion into using reshape2 and I want to ensure that the melt() function call is syntactically correct. We have been using Red-fone foneBridge2 Quad T1/E1 for last few years. As these devices are not available anymore, we are looking for alternatives. Are there any similar devices available ? -- Regards, Tirveni Yadav www.udyansh.org What is this Universe ? From what it arises ? Into what does it go? curvilinear grid
Hello all: A question from a new user. I have data on a geo-referenced curvilinear grid. This is a grid with 75 rows and 51 columns, is not aligned north-south, and the rows and columns are not straight. (And the coordinates are in meters.) I want to make image plots of this data, but where the grid is deformed according to the correct locations of the grid points, instead of coming out

melt stumbles over deleted columns
I have a data frame that is the result of a cast (reshape) operation. I deleted the variable column and tried to melt the resulting data frame. Depending on which method I use to delete the column I get different error messages when melting: > head(tinfos) vpn group trial_no item relation trial_type rt variable # 1 102 2 1 4351 diag1 distractor 8471 fix_d 27

TDM-400 doesn't detect far-end hangup
Hi: I'm using a TDM-400 to terminate PSTN lines at my Asterisk server with kewlstart signalling. When an outside caller calls the server, the TDM-400 goes off-hook and provides a ringing tone to the caller. If the caller hangs up before the receiving party answers the phone, Asterisk fails to detect the hang-up. The TDM-400 stays off-hook, hogging the line, while Asterisk rings the

conditionally merging adjacent rows in a data frame
Hi, I have a data frame and want to merge adjacent rows if some condition is met. There's an obvious solution using a loop but it is prohibitively slow because my data frame is large. Is there an efficient canonical solution for that? > head(d) rt dur tid mood roi x 55 5523 200 4 subj 9 5 56 5523 52 4 subj 7 31 57 5523 209 4 subj 4 9 58 5523 188 4 subj 4 7

TDMoE in any way related to I-TDM
Hello all, recently i stumbled upon the I-TDM standard, e.g. see here http://www.picmg.org/v2internal/news2005.htm "SFP.1, also known as I-TDM (Internal TDM), is a companion protocol specification to SFP.0 that is optimized for TDM traffic over high-speed fabrics such as 1 and 10 Gigabit Ethernet (PICMG 3.1), Advanced Switching (PICMG 3.4), Infiniband (PICMG 3.2), etc. SFP.1 and SFP.0

Mixing SIP/TDM in MeetMe
I sent a query about this before, but have some further information and am hoping somebody has a suggestion as to what to try next to debug this. I'm using an Asterisk box primarily for MeetMe conferencing. There are two sources: TDM via two Q.SIG T1's and SIP phones. Conferencing works fine between TDM channels. But when a SIP phone calls the conference, there's no voice path *to*

Dell PowerEdge + TDM
Hi, what new Dell servers are compatible and KNOWN to work with Digium TDM cards? I've looked at Digium's compatibility list at http://www.digium.com/index.php?menu=compatibility. Does this mean that other Dell servers like SC1420, SC1425, 800, 1800 are working just fine with TDM cards? Can someone clarify this? Thanks -David

How does TDM work?
How does TDM work, how do you connect to it? I have the impression it can't be routed like ethernet, but a cable from your switch has to be plugged into the providers equipment. I have seen the Asterisk info about TDMoE - does this mean that the Asterisk card will modulate the signal on the Ethernet cable to allow it plug directly into a proper TDM connection? Will someone please enlighten

My TDM-400P FXO experience
A bit about my experience with the TDM-04 FXO. Only saw a few post on this subject, thought I would contribute a little about my experience to save others the hassle. a. As an earlier poster noted, the driver for the FXO is in the wcfxs module. Perhaps it should be renamed to something less confusing. b. You need the zaptel, zapata libraries from the cvs, the ones with Asterisk 0.7.2 won't
