G.729 codec doesn't seem to work *even* after installing the license
Hi,
I am trying to post this again as I am getting no answers and the
support@digium.com bounces...
(I have searched the whole list and can't find the answer either)
I have installed a 5 user license for G.729 and want to route calls through
Asterisk from my G.729 phone to Cisco AS5300 also using G729.
Both Cisco and the phone connect using this codec if I do not force the call

I have an Asterisk related problem with mutualphone.
I can connect to any number with any softphone that I am using (iaxcomm,
SJPhone, and a few others).
Also I have a Grandstream BT 101. But I cannot call (via Asterisk) to
mutualphone destinations. Other destinations go fine.
A working phone call (e.g. from iaxcomm) gives the following on the

Asterisk 1.6.1.13 and T.38 faxing
Hello everyone.
I'm struggling to get T.38 faxing to work in Asterisk 1.6.1.13 with a SIP DID provider here in Brazil (GVT - Vox IP service). Here's my scenario:
When faxes arrive by a specific DID, they are routed thru this simple macro:
[macro-recebefax]
exten => s,1,Set(DB(fax/count)=$[${DB(fax/count)} + 1])
exten => s,n,Set(FAXCOUNT=${DB(fax/count)})

codec trouble?
Hi everyone!
Situation: when I call from cell phone to a asterisk-connected phone,
all works fine. When I call from the asterisk-connected phone (a Cisco
7960 SIP) to the cell, the connection gets made, but there is no audio
going in either way...
Asterisk reports the following:

No Compatible codecs? Got license
Hi,
I have a Cisco 5300 which I want to make a call THROUGH the Asterisk PBX
(security) to an IP phone which supports g729, and vice versa. Both Cisco
and the phone talk this codec if I do not force the call to go through *
However if I say canreinvite=no in the sip.conf for either of these gadgets,
the call will fail with No compatible codecs!
I have bought a 5 user license just to

No compatible codecs, not accepting this offer! - after upgrading to 1.8.11
Hi,
I've upgraded my asterisk 1.4 to the version 1.8.11. After making some
adjustments to the configuration files to port it to the new version, calls
between registered phones in asterisk, work fine, but inbound calls coming
from the SIP trunk I have with a telco to asterisk, don't work anymore. I
don't know why!...

Res_fax - FAXOPT(faxdetect)
Hi,
as stated in the documentation, it's allowed to set
FAXOPT(faxdetect)=yes/no to allow fax detection.
It's done (see below) but still fax detection :-( Extension 300 is
hylafax with iaxmodem.
On the upper Asterisk gw it's the same, despite the faxdetect set to no
we also have the NOTICE of T.38 re-INVITE. Test is done with a mobile
phone calling the 0123456789 PSTN number.

Suddenly a problem with outgoing calls made from Cisco phones...
Hi all!
Quite a mystery. The following happened when I was on holiday, and no one else has changed any configs of either Asterisk or the Cisco's in the building...
The situation: Incoming works fine on all phones. Outgoing only works from non-Cisco phones. When calling from a Cisco phone to an external phone, all the Cisco-user hears is a ticking crackle and
after about a minute the phone

G.729 between Zap and SIP
Hi,
I have licensed the digium G.729A codec. But for some reason incoming and
outgoing calls will ALWAYS use G.711a. When I force my phone to only accept
G.729 then an incoming call from ZAP goes straight to my voicemailbox as the
phone doesn't accept the codec Asterisk wants, even if I force it in
sip.conf.
Is there anywhere else I need to look to tell ZAP to use G.729 preferrably ?

G.729 <-> ZAP ?
Hi,
I am trying to replace my Cisco 5300 gateway with my new Zap TE405P card.
Incoming calls and outgoing calls between my cisco and my SIP phone works
fine on G.729. Recording messages in the asterisk voice-mailbox also works
fine from both my SIP phone as well as PSTN -> Cisco -> Asterisk. I have
licensed the digium G.729A codec.
When I connect my ISDN PRI to my Zap card and I call
