hints and polycom IP 300 phones
Hi all, I've just updated to current CVS, and have 2 polycom IP phones, one is a IP600 and the other is a IP300. The IP600 shows the status of the IP300 and a ZAP line quite nicely, but the IP300 won't show the status of the IP600.... Is there any additional debug apart from "show hints" to see why this might not be working ?? -= Registered Asterisk Dial Plan Hints =-

Shorewall (Openswan) IPSEC VPN MASQ Problem
Hi, I have setup a IPSEC VPN using Openswan to connect a Draytek router to a CentOS 5.2/Shorewall 4.2.9 firewall. The VPN establishes OK but I''m getting a problem with packets from the left hand subnet getting masqueraded rather than routed down the IPSEC VPN as though they were going out onto the net. I''ve spent the last day searching Google and so far I''ve hit a

Polycom IP600 - Worth the extra $$
Hello, I am looking at the Polycom phones. The ip600 has a very nice screen, is that the only real advantage over the ip500 and ip300.. Is it worth the extra dollars? Polycom & VPN trouble
Hi All, I am a remote office that is connected to my office via openvpn on UDP. Voip has always worked well (after discovering g729). Initially I used a softphone, then an analog set on a sipura 2000, then a polycom IP500 (I still LOVE this phone). At that point, I started noticing that the polycom doesn't ring a lot of the time. Since I was desperate for a phone, I didn't upgrade

MWI not working on Polycom Phones
Hi All - I'm running version SIP version 1.3.4 on various IP300, IP500, and IP600 Polycom phones. I'm having a tough time with MWI. I thought I remembered somebody on the list saying that they had it working, but I can't find it in the archives now. I have all the phones configured for MWI as specified in the WIKI: ipdmid.cfg: up.oneTouchVoiceMail="1"

Choosing VPN Server
Hi, I am facing a task of choosing vpn server. I do not know which is better. The one distributed with CentOS4.5 only supports pppd (or maybe pptp but I cannot find it). If* *I want to use PPTP or L2TP, which one should I choose? OpenVPN? Poptop? Thanks. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

state of IPSec VPN on CentOS 7: Openswan, strongSwan, RPM packages
I looked in the yum repositories for CentOS 7 and I noticed that there are no packages for any of the major open source IPSec VPN apps - Openswan, strongSwan, etc. I'm pretty sure CentOS 6 had Openswan packages. What is the current consensus w.r.t. building an IPSec VPN "server" (concentrator, whatever) on CentOS 7, that will do site-to-site connections with Cisco hardware at

Latest openswan update does no longer connect to Cisco VPN 3000 Series
Does anyone else noticed problems after updating openswan to openswan-2.6.32-27.2.el6_5.i686 ? In our case a connection to Cisco VPN 3000 Series would no longer work. I can see in the log an ASSERTION FAILED error and the connection would remain in Pending phase 2. Polycom IP500 problem updating bootrom
I've had an IP300 for a while now and it's been working fine. I just got an IP500 and when it connects to the FTP server it downloads the new bootrom and says error loading. The bootrom is fine and works on the 300... In addition, I downloaded a new copy to be sure and it still doesn't work. Can anyone give me some advice?

Users handbook
At the most recent project I completed I have to post a intranet web page with instructions on using the system and phones. Asterisk is 1.07 stable and the phones are Polycom IP300, IP500, and IP600. Has anyone done an Astersik users guide? Something non-technical but covering most of the features an office worker would use. If nothing exists, should we develop this as a documentation project?

IPSec multiple VPN setups
I second Eero's comment, use a new IPSec daemon. Openswan was forked and became Libreswan. Paul, now a RH employee, was a main developer for the Openswan project before he and others created the Libreswan fork. https://libreswan.org/ EL6 has Openswan EL7 has Libreswan Racoon isn't all that fun to work with. If you have the option, ditch it and EL5 and move to a newer platform

Fine Tuning
Hello all, We've been using our Asterisk system live for about a month now and I'm looking to tuning a few things. First, is echo, I receive a fair amount of echo during the first 10-15 seconds of incoming calls. Next is a very weird problem. We have serveral Polycom IP300's and one Budgetone phone. It seems that if we unplug & move the Budgetone (which happens a fair amount
