ChanSpy on Asterisk v1.0.7
I am trying to find the app ChanSpy for Asterisk v1.0.7. I have tried looking on VOIP-info.org's ChanSpy page (http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+cmd+ChanSpy)and also referred to the link regarding bug 3836 (http://bugs.digium.com/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=0003836). I downloaded the attachments and tried to use the patch and compile the source. However, it seems that

RE: [asterisk] VocTel service provider
I haven't heard much feedback yet - anyone here using VocTel? The connection problem turned out to be my firewall, but I'm curious if others experience any voice choppiness or high latency. Some posters have related the problem to specific VOIP providers, some seem to be ISP related (local network latency). Any feedback? OCG

Always forward an extension?
Here's something I haven't been able to discover as of yet - I need to set up a "direct link" from my Asterisk box to an external line... basically I need to be able to pick up an internal extension and have it call a local phone number. This is call forwarding, I know - the question that I have is how do I set it up so that the extension always forwards. There will never be a

Crash without "make valgrind"
I'm having a little problem. I have a dial-plan with a lot of SetVar's and loops, and under certain circumstances (reproducible) it makes asterisk crash. Wanting to debug this, I compiled using "make valgrind". But doing so, I eliminated the crashes and the dial-plan works perfectly. Now from what I understand, valgrind removes compiler optimisation to ease debugging. What kind

Asterisk-CVS-HEAD locks up on 'reload' from CLI (sometimes)
Lately when I issue a 'reload' from the CLI, I find that it will sometimes hang forever, completely locked up. I can press enter and see the CLI prompt move, but no commands are taken. "top" shows asterisk eating everything up: PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT %CPU %MEM TIME CPU COMMAND 20669 root 25 0 10068 9.8M 5392 R 88.4 1.9 1:02 0 asterisk

Incoming 800-number over IAX - first few words are cut-off
I have an incoming 800-number over IAX from Teliax and I'm experiencing the large packet loss on connection. When a call comes in there is no ring tone and the first few words of the welcome message are cut off, regardless of the delay I set. Standard call (not 800-number) coming over IAX with the same provider works just fine only the tall free number. So it seems there are some packet loss

Asterisk Realtime and ODBC
Hello all! My basic problem is that we haven't been able to get realtime to use ODBC to store configuration data. Here are the details: We've installed Asterisk on a CentOS machine as follows: 1. Downloaded, compiled, and installed FreeTDS 0.63 2. Downloaded, compiled, and installed unixODBC 2.2.11 3. Downloaded, compiled, and installed Asterisk, Asterisk-Addons, and Zaptel from CVS

Poor volume on SPA-2100 due to asterisk?
I just bough a Sipura SPA-2100 to use with Asterisk. When I use the analog handset plugged into the SPA-2100, the person on the other end can hardly hear me. I check the SPA-2100 setup and their is no mic/spk gain control. Is this a problem with the SPA-2100 or with Asterisk? Any way for asterisk to compensate for the poor audio level (if the problem is the SPA-2100)? Thanks, Mike

Make asterisk 1.0.7 fail under FC4
After more investigation, I decided to just recompile asterisk (on my newly upgraded Fedora core 4 system). Make dies with this error: "No rule to make target 'usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/3.4.3/include/stddef.h" It seems this directory is gone under FC4, and replaced by No rule to make target 'usr/lib/gcc/i386-redhat-linux/4.0.0/include/ I can't find the

eliminating cancel button in winDialogString call
I would like to use the function winDialogString to get input from a user to a program but would like to eliminate the cancel button option and just have the OK button appear. The problem is that if a user enters data then accidently hits Cancel instead of OK, the program may either run incorrectly or quit due to the error of having NULL for a variable. I can think of some unsophisticated ways

How much CPU power needed for asterisk
I'm thinking of placing Asterisk on an itx motherboard in a tiny case. The ITX motherboards top out around 400Mhz PII (in terms of power relative to a desktop). How much CPU would I need for an office of 50 people? How much disk storage for voicemail + OS? (typical / average) The system will have no PCI cards (no Digium FSO/FXO cards) - everything over the LAN connection. Thanks,

Extremely slow zpool scrub performance
Running a zpool scrub on our production pool is showing a scrub rate of about 400K/s. (When this pool was first set up we saw rates in the MB/s range during a scrub). Both zpool iostat and an iostat -Xn show lots of idle disk times, no above average service times, no abnormally high busy percentages. Load on the box is .59. 8 x 3GHz, 32GB ram, 96 spindles arranged into raidz zdevs on OI 147.

Any experience with Sixtel--tollfreedirect--iax.cc?
Appears to be a diversified company (Google of it shows that they do web design, VOIP, etc.). But this link caused me concern. _http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff145784.htm_ (http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff145784.htm) Thoughts? OT: Can I use a SIPURA with Packet8?
I have packet8 and I have spent many hours on the phone with them. If someone has found away around there DTA configuration I would like to know so I can bring it in house to my * box. But as far as your question is concerned. No. Not that I know of. They wouldn't give me any information about the configs. .o-------------------------------------------------------o. Problem with "by": does not work with ttest (but with lme)
Hello, I would like to do a large number of e.g. 1000 paired ttest using the by-function. But instead of using only the data within the 1000 groups, R caclulates 1000 times the ttest for the full data set(The same happens with Wilcoxon test). However, the by-function works fine with the lme function. Did I just miss something or is it really not working? If not, is there any other possibility to
