WRT54GP2 SIP server on LAN port
Hi,
I'm trying to set up Asterisk behind my WRT54GP2 router that has a
intergrated ATA box.
My box are not locked in any way so I can access and change all settings.
Now to the problem...
I have gotten Asterisk to register with my provider and everything works
just well..
Now it's time to get the intergrated ATA to connect to asterisk.
But the asterisk box in located on the LAN ports of

Any experience with Linksys WRT54GP2 as localextensions to Asterisk ?
While we have not been able to get our hands on this model yet (we have
the other Linksys models) the Linksys voice products are based on the
sipura technologies ATA and will work. I was under the impression that
the only shipping WRT54GP2's are provisioned and locked to ATT (for
now).
Also keep in mind that you must be an ITSP and get authorized by
cisco/Linksys to be able to buy all Linksys

home routers
I'm looking for somehting like the standard house hold linksys/dlink router.
Basically it needs to have at least 1x100mbit port, wireless G capabilitys
and at least 1 x anolog voip/sip connection. I've found linksys's WRT54GP2
which appears to do what i want. Anybody use this? Does it require
vontage's service? I'm looking for any recommendations.
Thanks

VoIP in hotels
Our company can offer VoIP to premises and domestic users and bill the
premises as a whole. We need something to enable the hotel owner to bill
each guest in a hotel in real time. What solutions do exist presently?
(PS: Our radius (and every telephony equipment outside the hotel) does not
recognise which room in the hotel initiated the international (VoIP) call,
so that's the main problem

Sipura SPA-3000 vs Linksys SPA3000
Hallo!
I had ordered a Sipura SPA-3000 in the UK, but the supplier turned out
to be unreliable and never shipped.
Yesterday I went looking for alternative suppliers and found the Linksys
SPA3000 device. It's a different box, but the specs look very similar.
Is this the same device? Has anyone used this Linksys SPA3000
successfully with Asterisk?
Thanks,
Frank

Vonage Linksys Router - Life after Vonage
I setup a vonage account last year, and cancelled it last night when I
put my asterisk box together and signed up for a Broadvoice account to
use with it.
Now I would like to use my Linksys router as an MTA, but realize it is
still programmed with all of vonage's proprietary information and I do
not know how to clear it. I understand that just pushing the reset
button will not do it.

Anyone have the firmware for WRT54GP2?
I'm looking to upgrade my unit, and would like to not have to wait on our
company's suppliers to get back to me on it.
Thanks in advance for any help

Security advice, please
My LAN is behind a Netgear router, which does NAT. On the CentOS server I
have fail2ban running. This morning my router reported 3 different IPs
attempting to send UDP packets to port 38950, Since each address is only seen
4-5 times, I presume that fail2ban took over after that.
GRC reports that ports are stealthed (port 143 was open, but is now closed),
but then:

new ATA box for sale by Linksys
Fry's Electronics has a new Linksys 2 line ATA box for sale for $59.99
retail. They have a version with a router for $89.99. We picked the
non-router version up and it seems to be a rebadged Sipura SPA-2000. The
box has a Vonage service package inside as well, but it does work with other
services.
The box also has a "User Guide" meant for end-users that is very well

Mimicking Linksys PAP2?
I've got a Linksys PAP2 on my Vonage account with unlimited
usage, but my softphone-addon account only has 500 minutes. Anyone ever try
to setup their * to mimick the Linksys PAP2 ? Any comments or suggestions on
what problems I might run into if I try?

SIP/WiFi handsets?
Anyone know of any *portable* SIP/WiFi handsets? Looking for a decent
price:quality ratio, of possible. Keep seeing handsets for Vonage, etc.,
in Best Buy and the like, but I imagine it's locked to Vonage, and can't
be re-appropriated.
Thanks!

Using locked PAP2 and PAP2-NA with Asterisk
Here is some info that may allow some "locked" PAP2 and
PAP2-NA units to be used with Asterisk:
I have a PAP2-NA (from a provider other than Vonage) for
which I did not know the admin password, though the "user"
pages were accessible to me. The provider had set it up to
fetch at startup, its configuration file by HTTP from a
numeric IP. It was running 2.0.10(LSc).

ssh/sshd hang after "debug2: channel 0: open confirm rwindow 0 rmax 32768"
Dear openssh developers,
Sorry to bother you with this, but I am stumped!
ssh client version:
OpenSSH_3.9p1 NCSA_GSSAPI_3.5 GSI, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
sshd server version:
OpenSSH_4.6p1-hpn12v17 NCSA_GSSAPI_GPT_4.0 GSI, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
The client/server interaction hangs just at the very end, after
authentication is complete. Here are a few lines of ssh -v -v -v output:

Vonage and * (and what about those ATAs?)
Will Vonage unlock your ATA for you for the $15? Or someone else?
I have an ATA from them I would like to use with asterisk as well.

ssh over udp (or: -L option listening for traffic with a UDP service?)
All,
A bit of background: I work on a QA API on a network that is very choppy (a
lot of network interrupts), and we use ssh to do a large part of this
automation.
This leads to some problems: ssh connections seem to be sensitive to
network state, becoming unusable if the choppiness reaches a certain
threshold, and either timing out or disconnecting if this happens.
Anyways, I stumbled across

voip quality/bandwidth/latency techniques
I have voip quality issues I would like to minimize. I have a ~=
3M/384k (Comcast) cable modem and a CentOS based Linux router (SME 7,
2.6.9 kernel) with 5 NAT''d devices (3 PCs "DHCP", 2 Vonage adapters
"static 10.10.2.10-11"). The quality problems are audio cutting out and
popping. I tried the following (see below) based on a Cookbook example,

SIP-SIP transfer via the REFER/NOTIFY method
Could anyone help me set up Asterisk in such a way that it makes SIP-SIP transfers using the REFER / NOTIFY method according to RFC-3515 ?
SCANARIO:
- Asterisk registers with PSTN<->SIP VoIP provider "V" (Vonage) as a friend
- Asterisk is located in Europe, Vonage in located US.
- Asterisk acts as an autoattendant located in Europe.

VSP? Looking for advice.
Has anyone tried using BroadVoice for VSP? I have Asterisk configured
for a home office & I've been trying to decide which VoIP provider to go
with for a little while now. I had heard you could get sub $.01 calls
but I have not found that to be true yet (not saying it's not possible,
I just haven't found it!).
Also I'm not sure if BV will support multiple lines. Any

Asterisk with Vonage problems
Does anyone currently use Vonage with Asterisk? I've tried to set it up but
it looks like Asterisk (at least the version that I have) does not handle
well the SIP call dialog, sending a BYE with the wrong tag. As a result,
when I hang up, Vonage sends back a 400 Bad Request and the call on the PSTN
side does not hang up.
I know that Vonage does a lot of nasty stuff which impacts UA's
