Looking for advanced consultant services
Hi,
I have a meeting with an important customer in a couple of days and I am
aware that most of their questions are going to be related about scability
of Asterisk. We want to propose this customer to integrate Asterisk with
SER, but I have a loot of complex doubts that I would like to known before
this meeting.
I would like to contact with a busines that has experience with large

SER vs STUND with Asterisk..
One for the gurus..
I have seen there has been a lot of discussion about using SER with
Asterisk.. This to me seemed like an over kill becasue it would
basically be doing most of what Asterisk is doing anyway unless you
create some weird and wonderful config in SER..
Anyway, I decided to go and have a quick read through the SER docs and
in the section about NAT they say that the best way to

FXS with v.90 modem support?
I have a couple of devices that need an analog modem to communicate
outside of our Asterisk system. Most FXS gateways don't seem to
support this... I have a stack of Sipura 2002's that are, AFAIK,
worthless for this purpose.
I've heard that Digium's IAXy FXS will work with modems, but I can't
find any reference to that in their documentation. There is also the

SIP/nat situation
Hi.
We are trying to set up asterisk to service a wireless community in our
town.
We have about 30/40 wireless working nodes each one with a 10.34.x.x/24
subnet for users. Each one of these addresses can potentially have a
192.168.x.x/x subnet.
On top, the wireless nodes, themselves, are linked in 172.16.x.x/x
subnets.
On top of the top, there is internet and cool things for people, like

NAT solutions
I know that NAT is something no one really likes to talk about, but does
anyone know how work with it elegantly? There are many providers which deal
with it on a daily basis in fact they cater to it, is this possible to do
with asterisk or does it require other exotic setups? I even know of a
provider which uses asterisk with many different types of devices, and they
handle all NAT config on

IAXy provisioning
Hi.
I am trying to provision my newly purchased IAXy.
I tried
./iaxyprov 192.168.0.4 myiaxy.conf
It print a bunch of numbers on screen and then
say
Provisioning is 63 bytes
Total packet is 77 bytes
Got response back from '192.168..0.4'
And that's it. I didnt get nothing else and there isnt any solid yellow light
after minutes. I wonder if anyone could explain what I'm seeing? Is

Immortal SIP & NAT problem
Hi guies,
I know I know this subject have been The most written subject about VoIP
Right... but I just want to make clear, just one time !
If Asterisk is on a Public IP Address and a softphone behind the nat,
sip.conf must contains for this phone: nat=yes ....
Now if I want to configure my sipphone (X-Lite) placing behing the NAT,
it must have in "Domain/Realm" the external IP

SER Interaction: Agents and Extensions
Hey gang,
I'm trying to work out all possible scenarios using SER & Asterisk in our
upcomming deployment. The example scenario is 50 different customers, all
with different numbers of SIP UAs. All UAs would register with SER; This
will help keep any inter-office conversations off our bandwidth since SER
doesn't handle the RTP stream.
Calls from PSTN to UA are easy to handle.

How do folks handle NAT routing?
I'm interested to hear how folks are handling NAT SIP routing issues "in the
wild" for commercial use.
Are you using a commerical SIP-aware NAT router solution? If so, what?
Are you using a software SIP-proxy like SER or siproxd? If so, which?
Do you set everything to "canreinvite=no" in sip.conf?
Any comments about real-world implementations would be welcome.
Thanks

Nat + Asterisk + Ser (Far end Nat Traversal)
Hello,
I have several * servers behind a SER server (in a local ip range). The
SER server is also publicy reachable. On the other site, I have SIP
clients that are behind another NAT or in the same NAT range as the *
server. Can someone give me some directions/hints etc. on how to make
this work. I think I should be using MediaProxy with SER. But do the SIP
clients need to register at the SER

OT: Are you using a Lucent?
Is anyone out there using Lucent brand equipment to handle an incomming
DS3, converting all 672 calls to SIP (as G729) and sending those to
Asterisk/SER over ethernet?
If you are and are willing to speak to my boss about your experiences
(over the phone) with it, please contact me off list.
We have a possible contract with a local CLEC to handle their long
distance, and they want to send to

SER is a better NAT solution?
Hi,
I'm now setting up a VoIP conference room using Asterisk.
All the clients are SIP phone (to be exact, Xlite), number of clients that should be registered are around 50 and concurrent users are maybe 15 clients at most.
So, basically I think I can handle the situation only with Asterisk.
I'm wondering however, most of my clients are behind NAT of home router and using SER together

realtime & nat
It's pretty obvious from the wiki that realtime and Nat don't befriend quite well. As It is obvious the necesity of both of them, mainly have clients under nat talking to an asterisk server. The question I would like to throw away is.. What would you do to have both of them? I have two possible solutions in mind.
1. Use static configuration for sip users with nat=yes.
2. Buy iax

Multiple Asterisk Installations + SER
I'm trying to implement a shared asterisk server for multiple
(different) companies. Here's what I've done so far:
- I've installed multiple asterisk instances on one server (via
vserver). Each * is for one customer, and has it's own extensions (like
100, 101, 102, etc.) Note that the same extension can exist on other *
instances
- The SIP Clients register themselves with *

OT: DS3 -> VoIP Hardware Recommendations
Hello all,
We are looking for some hardware requirements/recommendations to be
able to handle a full DS3's worth of TDM -> VoIP traffic. The DS3 would
bring 24 calls per T1 x 28 T1s = 672 simultaneous calls. We would then
need to convert those calls into G729 SIP VoIP calls to send to our
asterisk box over ethernet. Since everything is going in/out of asterisk
is 729, and no features

IAXy Provisioning Using Windows
For anyone playing around with IAXy(S100i) devices, I am making the
following available:
Windows IAXy Provision v1.00
This is a from-the-ground-up development of a means of provisioning IAXy
devices using a Windows environment. For some users, being bound to Linux
for IAXy provisioning is not viable or convenient in some cases. This
application provides a GUI data entry for the various IAXy
