Terrible, horrible firewall issues in * to * setup
My mission is to get one * box to dial another * box' extensions. I have set this up previously without any issues by making a simple IAX trunk/extension pair on the two boxes and create a dial plan with a prefix like 9|XXX to select an extension on the other box. My problem is that I now have to do this with extremely restrictive firewalls thrown into the mix - firewalls I have no control

Using Asterisk with fiber optic
Hi, I'd like to use PSTN and analogic telephone with a Asterisk server which works on a LAN connected to the outside with fiber optic, on which voice stream passes too. Do I need some particular solution, some particular card to make it works or I just need a Digium or similar fxo card? Thanks, Bob __________________________________________________________________ Tiscali ADSL Senza Canone,

HELP! can't see Unix printer shares
I'm trying to use Samba to get access to my Unix printer. Unix System is FreeBSD-2.2-stable, and I'm running the latest port of Samba for FreeBSD-2.2-stable (Samba 2.0.0) from ftp.freebsd.org. I've checked all the references I can find on the web, and can't see the problem. Can anyone point out what I'm doing wrong. Under NT (adding remote printer), I see the entry for the

Another web app using Ferret
I am apart of a team that runs a student site called Studicious (http://stu.dicio.us). We have been using Ferret from the beginning, and recently added acts_as_ferret and sorting to the system. As you can see if you try the search, sorting is not working as expected. I am using this code (w/ find_by_content): :sort => Ferret::Search::SortField.new(:school_sort, :reverse => false)

acts_as_ferret highlight
I am getting nil returned when doing the following: r.highlight(@condition, :field => ''body'') ''r'' is an instance of the a_a_f model. ''body'' is a tokenized saved field. I am running latest ferret and a_a_f trunk. Am I doing something wrong? -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

limit results to specific IDs
How would you go about searching only a specific set of IDs in acts_as_ferret? Should I just create a huge "or" query or is there a more stylish way? Thanks, Winton -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

Ferret just got faster.
Hey guys, Sorry I haven''t been around for the last few days. I''ve just finished a coding marathon fixing up some of the performance problems in Ferret. If you don''t know what I''m talking about there has been a problem with Filters and Sorts on large indexes. Well, I think I''ve fixed the problem. Before: dbalmain at ubuntu:~/workspace/exp_old/c $

Can't dial SIP<->EuroISDN (HFC-S based PCI ISDN card): Unable to create channel of type 'Zap'
Hi, I'm trying to set up an Asterisk pbx based on a Fedora Core 1 Linux box (customized kernel version 2.4.24). I want calls from my SIP soft-phones to simply be dumped onto the PSTN line via a BRI (EuroISDN). I have a cheap HFC-S based PCI ISDN card connected to the NT1+ interface, so I need zaphfc. I've read everything I've found at www.voip-info.org, then I've downloaded the

RE:u32 filters and compression
Thanks: To Stef and Tobias Geiger for giving me the answer. I used the prio to get the order right. Don't know why I did'nt think of it myself. Compression: Another thing that might be useful to the list is the use of compression (Deflate etc.) to get better bandwidth across links. This requires a Linux router at both ends of the link. I got the idea from a product called Peribit see

ACK from asterisk not matched to transaction by SER / LCS2005
For reasons unknown to me, SER and subsequently a Microsoft Live Communcations Server 2005 seems to have problems, matching a SIP ACK request from asterisk to the ongoing SIP transaction, I have attached the complete log, but the essential lines are: 13(2894) DEBUG: RFC3261 transaction matching failed 13(2894) DEBUG: t_lookup_request: no transaction found 13(2894) SER: forwarding ACK

Diagonal Submatrices Extraction
Yes you are right ... an example is mandatory. So ... I have a matrix of 0 with just a single 1 per row and per column I need to extract all maximal 'diagonal' submatrices Let's say I have the following matrix A B C D E a 0 1 0 0 0 b 1 0 0 0 0 c 0 0 1 0 0 d 0 0 0 1 0 e 0 0 0 0 1 well I would like to get, for this example, the two following submatrices A B C D E

multiple graphs
Does anyone have a simple explanation and example on how to add histograms or barcharts to an other graph like in the example at the R-graph gallery: http://addictedtor.free.fr/graphiques/RGraphGallery.php?graph=109 looking at the code I'not undertand very well how to add graphs in arbitrary/clever position with an adequate scale. If somebody have a simplier example with explanations it
