Subject: Vonage-type service
I want to share some facts with the Asterisk community. I have been very successful providing a Vonage-type system based on Asterisk. For instance, one company that uses Asterisk and offers a similar service to Vonage is Voyze.com. The key concept is that Asterisk works like a Cisco, for all the intelligence is provided by SQL Server, outside Linux. I don't even save the CDR locally. The

I have the following dial plan that works: exten => 2201,1,Dial(sip/2201@gs1.uucp,20,) exten => 2201,2,Voicemail(u2201) exten => 2201,3,Hangup exten => 2201,102,voicemail(b2201) exten => 2201,104,hangup When the phone is in use it goes to voice mail as busy. FINALLY! a good book about Asterisk.
There is finally an introductory book about Asterisk! It looks like Paul Mahler at www.signate.com wrote it with a lot of help from Digium. I looked at the sample pages, it looks great. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo! Mail - Send 10MB messages! http://promotions.yahoo.com/new_mail

T.38 Faxing
Before I go ahead and spend $40.000 on a Cisco 5400, just because my clients need T.38 faxing, I want to ask the community if there is any chance of having Asterisk receive G729+T.38 and sending the call via Zaptel to its final destination. Any answer will be appreciated. Federico

Help with Oh323
I am blocked on the most simple step when compiling Oh323: Cd /openh323 patch -p1 ../asterisk-oh323-0.7.2-pre1/openh323_1.13.5-make.patch it hangs for ever and never finishes in my machine with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, fully updated. I need to use Asterisk HEAD and I therefore I want to use asterisk-oh323-0.7.2-pre1. Additionally, because it is the most debugged version. In the past, if

Help! Zap echo on bridged calls
I've been going nuts lately trying to get rid of an annoying echo problem that makes my asterisk server unusable when clients try to call me. Here's the breakdown of the issue - Hoping that someone can throw me a clue: My setup is as such: Single AMD Athon machine with X100P clone card and voip through multiple providers . * Inbound calls through the X100P that do not bridge to

My contribution to the issue of code- reversal
Four years ago, I faced a real dilemma in my business: the Visual Voice PRI dll had a bug that considered unanswered any call after ringing for 20 seconds. This bug was in fact killing my business, because for international calling, the setup of the call was already close to 20 seconds on many cases. Furthermore, the vendor, Artisoft, had cowardly sold the software to Dialogic, and Intel-Dialogic

SixTel?
I was just checking out the dids for all of my fail over providers and noticed that neither DID that I have with SixTel work. Both pause for a long long time The local number gives a recording: 'The number you have dialed is not in service or is assigned in a different area code. Please check your number and dial again'. Failover question
The registry's are stored in DB. Just export your database with 'database show' Schedule it with cron to run every 5 minutes or so. You can do that with -rx command line switch for asterisk. Send the file across to other node and pipe it through awk/perl/cut or whatever you like and import it when you bring the other node up. You will have to stop and start asterisk I think. I

sse, mmx support for hvm guests
Hi, I''ve a quad-core x86_64 machine (Intel Xeon), with sse/mmx support. However, I want to disable sse/mmx support from HVM guests. How can I do this? Also, is it reasonable to expect illegal instruction fault in non-root VMX mode if a guest VM runs an application with sse/mmx instructions? Thanks, Ashish _______________________________________________ Xen-devel mailing list

F3000 registering to asterisk
Hi, I have an F3000 phone that I am trying to register to asterisk. As far as I can tell I have everything in correct. Are there any little quirks I need to worry about? The phone has internet access, set it's time.. I can access the web config, but it just won't register with asterisk. I don't see anything meaningful in the full log.
