T1 multiplexer (or ?) for failover in largeinstallation
Just use a cisco with 5 T1 ports and have everything over IP use ultra
monkey to load balance your asterisk boxes. I have found this works
very well.

echotraining on T1 circuits
Hello,
We just had some new T1s turned up today to replace others that our contract
has run out on and we are now getting more echo on the new T1 lines than we
had on the old ones.
The T1 type is 24-channel, D4/AMI SF Robbed-bit(the same as the T1s they
replaced)
The problem is that we are getting echo on about 10% of the calls in and out
placed on these new T1s compared to less than 1% with

T1 config for robbed-bit E&M AMI
I have a couple of live T1s sitting around and they are not ISDN(like most
of the people that are using Asterisk seem to be using), they are regular
old 24 channel, robbed-bit, E&M wink start, D4AMI T1 circuits.
Can I get these T1s to work with a T100P Digium card and asterisk?
Searching through the lists and the documentation I haven't seen any
examples of how to configure this kind

Digium T1 Card Questions
I have a couple of questions about Digium's T1 cards, such as the
TE410P. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
1) Do they support standard T1s or are they ISDN-only?
2) Do you know of anyone offering support for configuring T1s for Digium
cards, and if so at what cost?
Thanks,
Matthew Roth

Can anybody recommend a good T1/PRI provider ?
Are you looking for local or Long distance? What will these T1s primarily be
used for(inbound/outbound, domestic, local, long distance, international)
How important are per minute rates to you? how many minutes do you expect to
use per month?
We are in Tampa Florida and have 15 T1s from several different providers so
I may be able to refer you to one if it's a match to what you're

PRI T1 Problems
Sorry for disturbing you, but we have some problems with an installation
with multiple (84) T1s from Quest.
Now, our Problem is disconnected numbers are reported by sending in-
band channel alert message and the B-Channel will have the tri tone and
respective message but the line is never "picked up" and stays in ringing
when dialling. So disconnected numbers are never detected as

channel bank/multiplexer recommendation
Hello.
I am totally new to this PBX/asterisk/telephony world.
I understand that what I need between the T100P/E100P and the POTS
analog lines is a channel bank/multiplexer?
I am looking for recommendations on this type of hardware. I have been
looking around and found a product from valiant communications

T1 card recommendation
I'm going to need to build a few Asterisk boxes that have dual and quad T1
interfaces. I knew Digium made T1 interface cards and on this list I heard
about Sangoma so I did a quick search and found the hardware page at
voip-info.org which lists several manufactures I didn't know about. All that
leads to this question:
I'll be using T1s in the USA. What experiences have you all had

Turning off DNIS on T1 set to FXO_LS protocol
Hello everyone,
Our company has an Asterisk server where one of the T1s is connected to
an IVR. Asterisk is configured for FXO Loopstart, and the IVR is
configured FXS.
We can call into it, but our software doesn't expect DNIS digits on FXS,
and the digits are being interpreted as user input.
We can certainly change our software accordingly, but our test bed also
includes other

E1 and T1 on the same card, or on the same server
Hello list,
(Resending this email due to a typo in previous copy)
I need to do E1 to T1 conversion for a project, and was wondering if there
exists a card with both E1 and T1 on it. Or is it possible to use two
separate cards in an asterisk box, one for E1 and one for T1? (Please don't
mention aculab or adtran, dealt with them in the past, won't deal again.)
I talked to Digium and the

Multiple windows shell multiplexer...
Hi,
I am currently using keyboardcast but I had to modify the sources to make it behave "properly" (light, auto-placed, auto-tiled windows, etc) and... I lost my modifications and do not want to recode it once more... :/
I wanted to use mssh (not the python one, the one from Bradley Smith) but I cannot find an rpm and cannot compile it on CentOS 5 due to a too old vte-devel library

ILEC Interconnect
Hello Everyone,
We are looking to interconnect with a local ILEC over an OC-n transport layer.
They basically gave us two options in terms of mapping the SONET to the DS3:
* VT1.5s mapping
* DS1s mapping
The second option is quite clear. We would MUX the connection, and plug
the lines into qaud t1 cads etc... The tech mentioned that with the second
option we would also need a DACS to convert

Zaptel problems on Debian
I just installed a TE410P on a Debian Sarge system running kernel
2.6.11-1-686-smp. Zaptel and Asterisk seem to be working fine.
However, I have a couple of problems with the TE410P and Zaptel.
First, the TE410P is showing me red alarms on 2 of the 4 T1s. This
board (the TE410P) was just moved from another machine running REL3
and all 4 T1s were working there. I don't know why only

[PATCH matahari] Introduces a multiplexer for taking requests and mapping them to APIs.
The Multiplexer lets Matahari register APIs and then call them by that
registered name. APIs are function pointers in the form of:
const char* function(const char *);
where the API takes as input a descriptor containing any arguments, and
returns an array containing the response or result.
Also adds a testing directory and unit tests to validate the
Multiplexer.
The new directory, src/tests,

suggested hardware especially sound cards
Hello,
I've seen various suggestions thrown around for hardware when people ask,
but can we all agree on some basic hardware recommendations for a few basic
setups(and post them on a website) to make it easier for new people to avoid
some of the hardware/software pitfalls when they are setting up their first
systems.
Something like this:

Tellabs Echo Canceller
I am getting ready to experiment with the Tellabs 2752 echo canceller. I have a 255D shelf (and power supply), but am struggling a little on connecting the echo canceller to a PRI.
The shelf has 4 25-pair amphenol connectors. The two on the line side are marked "Receive In" and "Send Out". The 2 connectors on the drop side are marked "Send In" and "Receive

More FAX over T1
This is a follow up to an earlier post.
Looking for a means to "individualize" incoming FAX, so as to distribute them to the intended recipient.
While the PBX is based on Asterisk, it is not possible for me to "enter" the box to modify things, to any great degree. I thank those who mentioned IAXMODEM, earlier, but that seems a no go.
Currently, there is a dedicated T1 into

DTMF weirdness
I've got a handful of T1s going into a TE410. When I place calls into the
system over these T1s, the system either doesn't decode all of the DTMF
digits or it decodes ones that aren't there.
When the system places calls out, there is no problem doing the DTMF
detection. Everything works great.
