Problem with TDM400P and cidstart=polarity
I'm testing a TDM400P with FXO module to receive incoming calls from an analogue line and send it to a SIP device. To recieve callerid, I need to use cidsignalling=dtmf and cidstart=polarity. The problem is that when a call is finished, the TDM400P seems to require about 20 seconds to prepare for the next incoming call. If a new call comes in within 20 seconds after the previous call was

TDM400P NO BATTERY & Poopy???
All, I've recently installed a TDM400P and am unable to get it working. It has four FXO modules on it. What I would like to do is have the first two ports as inbound from pstn and have them ring the last two ports which will be connected to regular analog phones. In Zaptel.conf I have: fxsks=1-4 In Zaptel.conf [channels] context=default switchtype=national rxwink=300 ;

Got event 17 (Polarity Reversal)...
Can anyone tell me what this message means? Got event 17 (Polarity Reversal)... I'm running DAHDI 2.0 with a TDM401 card. Asterisk version 1.6.0. It appears that I get this Polarity Reversal each time an inbound call hangs up. This results in another ring, but no one is there. It appears as an unknown caller, but I believe its a phantom. TDM400P... ignoring hanguponpolarityswitch
I've just had polarity reversal provisioned by our telco to test hangup detect with a TDM400P I've set hanguponpolarityswitch=yes in zapata.conf When I start Asterisk I get "ignoring hanguponpolarityswitch" in /var/log/asterisk/messages I assume that the option is either not valid or conflicts with another setting somewhere. Any ideas?

iax2 trunking wackyness
Hi I was doing some bandwidth testing, and my incomming usage is 36% more than my outgoing bandwidth. The setup is IAX2 trunking using GSM codec. Is there any obvious reason I am overlooking to figure out why there is such a big difference between the two.? I am using CVS-head September 3rd, maybe there is a version skew? Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks Clive

On Hold music
This may sound kind of crazy and I maybe missing something. But are you placing the call on hold so you can hear the hold music. This may not be the case but you may have to place the call on hold to here the music. Also you mentioned sound, you do not need a sound card in the asterisk box to use this hold music feature. Hope this helps. -----Original Message----- From:

Astricon pictures
Hey, I am here at Astricon and about to go down to registration. Is there any interest in pictures if I take my digital camera? I am sure that someone is already doing this. (Probably someone official). I would take pictures of each day and upload them to my website if anyone is interested. Let me know! -- Kristian Kielhofner

Digium FXS modules too fragile?
Hi all, Yesterday, in an attempt to take back my phone room, I pulled everything apart as far back as the demarc and rebuilt it. In the process of putting things back together I accidentally connected my incoming lines to my FXS ports and my phones to my FXO ports. I quickly realized the mistake I made and corrected things but not before one of my FXS modules was smoked by incoming ring voltage.

add 0 (zero) to incoming callerID - how?
I have an asterisk box and SIP / IAX2 phones. To call out, users have to add 0 (zero) before a real telephone number. That means, that if they want to call someone that has a number 123456, they have to call 0-123456. Simple, right? This has a serious drawback though - when someone calls us from the number 123456, we see the callerID 123456, and we're unable to use the callback/redial

No audio when calling via PSTN, before remote answers (with polarity reversal)
Hi! I want to get audio from the PSTN before the call is answered so I don't miss when the called phone is busy or if there is some error (like the phone is unavailable or is wrong, etc) and hear the ringing from my telco. I have polarity reversal in my telco for incoming and outgoing calls. If I set answeronpolarityswitch=yes then I get no audio until the call is answered. If I set it to

video development
Hi Fran, you could do it using Adobe/Macromedia Flash Media Server 2, but I guess that's not the answer you are looking for. If you manage to do this and release it under GPL I'll kick in $50 for a bounty. Ericsson FCT f251m and polarity reversal
Hello, This is a little off-topic. I have an Ericsson FCT f251m, according to the specs it supports call signalling through polarity reversals and loop break, but it's currently disabled. On my PSTN line, my TelCo does send polarity switchs to signal answer and hangup (answeronpolarityswitch=yes and hanguponpolarityswitch=yes in zapata.conf), and asterisk detects it alright. I've been
