Amicus Attorney
Hi, Amicus Attorney is a server/client Practice Management software for law firms. We run it on a Windows 2000 server. We have our file sharing on SMBS Linux server I run a dual boot PC. I have installed Amicus Client successfully with Wine. The fonts look pretty good. All the database info gets installed fine. The problem is it does not synchronise so it cannot add to or collect info

AstTapi - Crashes w/ Windows 2000 - Urgent Help needed - May need to hire a developer
We're encountering a problem with AstTAPI crashing on Windows 2000 Workstations. The program we're using is called Amicus Attorney, it uses a standard TAPI interface to be able to dial our clients, but on the 2 Windows 2000 workstations we've tried it on it has crashed, no errors or anything. When we select the Asterisk TAPI driver, the whole windows just closes/crashes w/ no apparent

AstTapi - Crashes w/ Windows 2000 - UrgentHelpneeded - May need to hire a developer
I have it running on my Windows 2000 mahcine using STI products and don't have much of a problem. I would guess that it might be something on the workstations instead of the AstTAPI. Also, might be a little faster, easier, cheaper to just upgrade your existing workstations? Just a thought. Feel free to contact me off list if you would like. Thanks, Dustin -----Original Message-----

Mac OS X client problem with supplementary groups
I have a very simple Samba 3.0.1 install without LDAP/ADS/winbind support compiled into it. I have noticed a strange problem with supplementary groups I noticed with Mac OS X (10.3.2). The SAMBA server is using 'ntdomain' authentication. When someone connects to the SAMBA server and gives their username in uppercase (the OS's default), then none of the secondary UNIX groups the

http parser
Just thought I''d let you know that your http parser worked great for creating an http protocol handler for Eventmachine. It wouldn''t take that much effort to use Eventmachine for Mongrel, might be worth a shot just to see how it does. A few things would need to be restructered, like HttpRequest where you read the rest of the body, and calling the handler. But it

"map to guest" parameter
samba defaults to "never" which the developers believe is a good idea. however, i believe the default for NT4 is "Bad Password". would it not make more sense to make the default the same as NT4 as most of the other options do? in our case, we had a user at home with a direct ISDN connection into the office. he logs into his computer with a different password than the domain

Internship Opportunity at New York financial weekly
It's not too early for statistically-adept students to think about underpaid, but life-altering, internships for the summer of 2012. In fact, after November 1st it may be too late to apply here at Barron's. This will be the second summer we've offered paid internships, which means that applicants can now poll the hapless folks who interned this past summer. Contact me, Bill Alpert, and

samba setup.exe rant part 2
this was previously posted only on samba-ntdom, but that was probably not the right list so i'm cross-posting to both samba and samba-ntdom. here's the problem: on NT4 w/ SP4 or SP5, self-extracting 16-bit install files work just fine in directories w/ Long File Names. on SAMBA 2.0.5a, i can get none of the aforementioned files to install from directories w/ Long File Names. a good

Running ChildView under Wine 20021031 - Codepage 850?
Hello fellow Wine users: I'm in the process of moving all our desktops over from Windows 98 to Linux (via LTSP), and we've got everything aced except for one &*!^* app. We've run Amicus Attorney underneath wine for some time now, and it works a treat. However, Childview has proved to be... somewhat more reluctant. As far as apps go, it isn't that complicated. It's

dialplan issue - 1& 0 should be evaluated false
Helo List, Sorry I missed the rest of my email in my previous post. Please see below. I'm having an issue using the AND (&) operator evaluation in the code of my dialplan. The dial plan is coded to detect inbound DTMF digits from callers. key "1" is equivalent to "yes" and key "2" is equivalent to "no" in two diferent contexts in the dial plan.

Unable to join domain in remote subnet..
Have you set in the slapd.conf on the slaves something like updateref ldap://master.ldap The slave / consumers need to redirect the request to the master ldap database. It may also be a good idea to have samba use fail over for the ldap backend. You would need to set this in your ldap.conf as too. for pdc / ldap master passdb backend =ldapsam:"ldap://master.ldap ldap://slave.ldap"
