Wi-SIP vs. SIP-DECT
Anybody care to muse on Wi-SIP vs. SIP-DECT? My limited research indicates that none of the WiSip phones will ever be able to match the performance of DECT phones. Maybe I'm wrong but a Wi-SIP phone seems like a DIESEL sports car. There is nothing wrong with the technology, but it seems like a shoe-horned fit into the requirements of a wireless endpoint. DECT uses a wireless radio layer

SIP over 3G Mobile Network using NAT
Dear, Kindly guide with the 2 issues mentioned below *#1* - *Host unreachable 0 last qualify 0 (only in 3G**)* I am trying to use SIP client over 3G. It registers and call can be initiated from the client but it can't receive call; cause *asterisk sever *marks it as unreachable immediately after registration. Newbie SIP trunk question...
Hi Guys, We are using Grandstream BT-102 phones internally to talk directly to our SIP provider's SIP server. Each of our phones is configured with a CLI provided by our SIP provider. I have a couple of spare phones and about 5 spare CLI's, so I decided to set up AsteriskAtHome to see what it was like... I've got the phones working with Asterisk, but I'm unsure as to the

WIFI SIP- The Best phone
Hello Everyone, I can see that a few people are interested in SIP WIFI phones. I have tested several Linksys 300,and it is OK. More of a toy then a business tool. It a poor built in ear speaker, which makes all calls sound tinny, and the unit is known to hang. I have two Linksys 300's that are fun to play with however, I wont hand them out to users. HOWEVER- The Zultys WIP 2 is an

OT: Quad-band cellphones with wifi & stable sip support
Hello, I am looking to purchase a new quad-band cellphone and I'm looking for one with WiFi and enough CPU power for stable SIP calls. I was wondering if anyone here can share his experience and recommend on a good cellphone. Any chance there is such a phone with even good WiFi profiles management or am I asking for too much now? :-) Thanks, Tomer.

wifi sip phone real-world experiences?
I've tested a few different wifi SIP phones for office/factory use, and generally have been underwhelmed. Before I grab another few and test, I'd like to ask around here about the candidates. My requirements are relatively simple: - WEP/PSK should be supported WITHOUT dragging the phone down - roaming between access points without dropping the call - decent set of ringers, not the

[OT] FreePBX + Trunk over VPN + Local LAN
Hello, First let me apologize for posting about a GUI topic on here. There's a reason why I did that, and it's because the underlying concept of this is connected to Asterisk. Here's my situation: Twenty wifi clients connecting to our wireless router (Cisco Linksys E4200 loaded with Tomato). All these WiFi clients are running eyeBeam (in case you're wondering where the calls come

DECT to SIP gateway experiences
G'day. I hope this isn't off-topic for the list. I am looking at an Asterisk setup that includes cordless phones. The three choices I can see, at this stage, are: * wifi phones * an ATA and a cordless analog phone * a DECT to SIP basestation The various wifi phone options don't grab us as suitable -- they are costly, have poor battery life and even the best have pretty mixed

WiFi SIP phone w/VPN?
Hi, all. My subject line says it all: is there a WiFi SIP phone with VPN abilities? Failing that, a WiFi phone that runs Linux? I already know one phone that does meet my requirements -- the iPhone. The new software comes with a Cisco VPN client, and a SIP client can be had from third-party vendors for jailbroken phones. And, while I'm not averse to the idea, a) it ain't cheap, and b)

Your favorite desktop wifi sip hardphone ?
Hi, Which is your favorite desktop wifi sip hardphone ? I'm looking for something like http://www.mitel.com/DocController?documentId=19401 which could be easily moved from one meeting room to another. (In this specific case, finding an electrical plug to power a large desktop phone is seen more relevant than finding an PoE Ethernet plug or using a mobile handset.) Which product would you
