iax vs iax2 question
I've asked this before but I don't recall seeing anyone respond. Maybe
the answer is so simple that it should jump right out, but its not.
I've got three iax connections defined, two working fine (including one
to iaxtel), and one that is somewhat intermitant. If I do a cli
'iax show registry' and 'iax2 show registry' I see "both" iax and iax2

Problem with iax2/rsa registration
Asterisk 1.4.31 IAX2/RSA BUG
If "A" tries to register on "B" and the RSA key from "A" does not match the
key on "inkeys" on "B", "B" do not send a "REGREJ", instead it sends a
"REGAUTH" with a new "CHALLENGE", then "A" send a new "REGREQ" for this
"CHALLENGE" with the same wrong

turning off IAX registration attempts
I have, in iax.conf the register statement:
register => username:password@iaxtel.com
This causes registration attempts to iaxtel.com for both IAX and IAX2.
Every once in a while there is a packet for port 4569 keeping the IAX2
registration alive. This is fine.
But, I have a barrage of registration attempts to iaxtel on port 5036 for
IAX. Every UDP packet is answered with an ICMP packet

iax2 registration being rejected
Hi. I have a server which is trying to register with me using iax2
and asterisk 1.2. My asterisk server is rejecting the registration
saying <ip address of server> is not dynamic. What does this mean and
what do I need to change to accept the registration?
Thanks.

iax2 trunk registration with auth rsa
hi all,
I am trunking via iax2 2 asterisk serverses
if both of them have static ip addresses, I can connect them using no
password, password or auth rsa with a pair of keys.
If one of them has dynamic ip address and need to register on the other
server, I can connect them with no password, but I am not able to do that
using keys.
The question is: which is the right register syntax to use when

IAX2 NAT / Registration Issue
I have a client using IAX Phone at his office to connect to his Asterisk
located at a data center. His IAX Phone connects through his office NAT
gateway device (unfortunately I don't know the specific brand and model).
He can make calls just fine. However, he seems to have issues receiving
calls.
I monitored his Asterisk for a bit and noticed that his IAX Phone, which

IAX2 --> IAX2 confusion, it doesn't work...
I am trying to get two * boxes to communicate with eachother.
I have read
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+-+dual+servers
as well as information on IAX channels, the Dial() command, and the switch
statement in extensions.conf.
But I am having no luck. I have a working * box running with a Zap card that
I want to be the server machine. I have another little box running * with

IAX registration
Hi,
I have a nufone connection (IAX2), works fine.
In my iax.conf I do not specify a time interval that * needs to renew
registrations with nufone server.
However I can see following registration messages on my cli every 90
seconds (approximately)
--Registered to '198.22.67.70', who sees us as 69.5X.XXX.XXX:4569
--Registered to '198.22.67.70', who sees us as 69.5X.XXX.XXX:4569

LGPL IAX2 software phone (for WIndows/Linux platforms)
I don't want to rain on Dan's parade, but I'd like to call everyone's attention
to an existing project.
Steve Kann has developed a crossplatform IAX/IAX2 library, and there are a few
clients available for it.
I have written iaxComm using the wx toolkit. It compiles and runs under Windows
XP using the MinGW tool chain. A precompiled IAX only version is available at

Help, please help -- IAX2 softphone to server on LAN
I've already sunk several hours into this without any
real progress, so I'd really appreciate any help My
task is simple -- establish a connection between a
softphone on XP ProSP2 to a Asterisk server on Linux
FC4 over a LAN through a Netgear router. The server
will then go out to a PSTN termination service.
Thus far, the PSTN termination connection works fine

Registration problems - Vitelity
Hi All-
?
I have successfully routed calls into our asterisk system from several DID providers in the USA, but for some reason I'm having a problem getting Vitelity to work.
?
We are using the IAX protocol, and the symptom is that only about 50% of the calls terminate properly into my asterisk system - the rest get a busy signal.? The ones that do not come in don't show up at all on

IAX2 ping confusion and unreachable soft phones
I've turned on debug in a (IAXComm based) soft phone. I see the
phone sending pings to *. I see * getting the pings. For some reason,
with iax2 show debug, I never see any response on the console from *.
However, the phone shows a response with INVAL. Seems like an odd
response to a ping request. I believed it should get an ACK. Is that
wrong? If I should get an ACK, what could I have messed
