Here is the output from yum -y upgrade without the error parts...
Its odd because it updated all of these first time round. I have dared
reboot the box yet, for fear it won't come back up...

Updates not catching up ?
Hi,
I have downloaded and installed centos 4.1 from DVD and I a little
confused with the update procedure.
The faq from the centos.org site mentions something like 72 hrs (or
less) from one security update to goes from the sources.rpm from rh to
centos.
I was cheking rh's site
(https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rhel4as-errata.html) and saw one update

On a fresh CentOS 4.3 box, suddenly what should have took usually
around 60 seconds, now it makes me wonder if I can still perform

Hi,
I was doing updates on a server and I think that the network connection

Shell Script - Compare packages. rpm.
Hi,
I need a script which makes the package compa??o rpm's through two
text files ...
Since a file is the output of the command *rpm-qa > pkg.out *
And the second file is a list of several packages rpm's, multiple
versions and architectures.
My idea is to compare a package *x* file pkg.out with several
packages *y* of the file update.out and know

mysql won't start
OK so at some point I borked my mysql 4.1.20 installation on my
x86_64 system. Possibly relevant: I have enabled the centosplus
repository in yum.conf because I needed a package from there. I have
not upgraded mysql from there.
Everything was working, then "something" aparrently happened, and now
mysql won't start. The logs say:

problem with package function and removing rpms
I have a recipe that I''m ensuring that I remove rpms that may be
installed by CentOS/RHEL before I install the MySQL.com rpms.
the recipe and logs are listed below. For testing I have mysql-* rpms
already installed.
Is there a method to force specific order to run the recipe?
What am I doing wrong?

Dag mirror, yum and repomd.xml!
Hi:
I have a mirror of dag repository
(http://apt.sw.be/redhat/el4/en/i386/dag/) in my intranet which is used
by other servers to install/update rpms. I installed on every remote
server the rpmforge rpm, edit the /etc/yum.repos.d/rpmforge.repo to fit
with my intranet mirror, but when I run yum, I get this error:
#yum -c rpmforge.repo search nagios

memory leaking?? kernel problem?
I would think someone would have noticed this in RHEL or CentOS if it was a pure kernel problem. What all are you running in the way of daemons? Something there could be to blame, no? Also, if the servers are identical in terms of software and hardware, have you considered a memory check? When I made the switch from Windows to Linux I discovered something interesting. Since Linux caches memory (as

You are indeed correct (I must have been looking at the RHEL3 dir**):
