gstreamer oggmux and variable framerate
Hallo all,
I currently hacking on cheese an got problem with variable framerate
produced by webcams (2-30fps). There is no problem to encode it with
theora, but problem to mux it in ogg. Or at least to play produced file.
There is no problem tu mux it in to matroska.
My question is: should actually ogg support timestamps, also variable
framerate? If yes: it seems to be some where broken.

Question on framerate
Hi,
This is probably a slightly odd question....
Is there anyway to decrease packetization? I'm using voip over a
wireless network, and framerate is extremely important!
Is it possible to reduce the framerate? Right now it's using about 90
frames/sec in to the phone and 40 frames/sec out from the phone (back
to the PBX)

SoftFax question
Hi,
I am looking at using the softfax that Steve Underwood has developed.
It's very straight forward when you assign an extension for the fax.
A function that several pbx's has is that they listen for the 'faxtone'
for 5 seconds
after 'answer' in the menu where you can enter your local extension number,
it's normally done in parallel with the DTMF detection. I think

Time in video file
Hi
I'm trying to store video I encode to a file using Theora and Ogg. The
video I record is from my webcam and although the framerate is set to
30 fps I rarely get more then 28-29 fps. Since Theora is fed with a
framerate which isn't precise the time of each frame when I play it in
VLC doesn't match the exact time of when the frame occurred. So
basically I wonder how can I sync a

Theora encode/decode performance is poor - with resolution 640X480
We build a Voip client with Iaxclient(Jiaxclient+Iaxclient2.1beta1+Theora1.0+libvidcap0.21),when we established video call with resolution 640X480(bitrate:500000,frameRate:11,fragsize:1472) in both sides, the CPU is consumed about 100%,the workload of Asterisk server is good at that moment. This issue does not exist with the resolution 320X240(bitrate:204800,frameRate:11,fragsize:1500), the

COW and unredirect_fullscreen_windows
I'm using Compiz 0.3.2 on Gentoo with the Nvidia 9626 beta drivers.
First off, I would like to state that Compiz is very, very nice. The effects
are very tasteful and enhance the desktop experience instead of being
distracting. Compiz itself works great, the animations are smooth and it's
very nice that it now uses the Metacity themes.
The only reason I'm not using Compiz full time

SWF animation method
Hi all,
Just thought I'd share something I discovered last night. I was
interested in creating animations consisting of a series of plots and
after finding very little in the usual sources regarding animation in
R directly, and disliking the imagemagick method described here
(http://tolstoy.newcastle.edu.au/R/help/05/10/13297.html), I
discovered that if one exports the plots to a

initial review of Grandstream HT-286 ATA device
Hi List,
Just received a HT-286 Analog Telephone Adapter.
This device is allows the user to take a standard
analog telephone set and connect it to a VoIP/SIP
based gateway. A low cost way of having PSTN
devices make use of VoIP/SIP services.
For example you could take a credit card processing
machine and punch it into a location where you have
broad band access.
You could take a FAX

SMS & Grandstream ATA-286
I'ld like to test SMSes between Asterisk and an analog phone on a
GS-ATA-286 (SIP). I have spent many hours trying any exemple on
voip-info or mailing-list, but no message got sent from the analog
phone. My goal, at now, is to send SMSes locally from and to Asterisk.
Does anyone have a working configuration ?

DirectShow PushSource with theora encoder and Ogg muxer filters
Hi all,
I am trying to test DirectShow PushSource example from the SDK with
Theora encoder and Ogg muxer (DirectShow filters of course) by using
GraphEdit tool. My goal is capturing the screen as video by taking
snaphot bitmaps continuosly (what PushSource eaxmple does) and giving
them to the Theora encoder through the DS pipeline (next goal is
transmitting this video **).
My DirectShow graph is

Grandstream products have a one year warrantee. If you don't have any luck

Please don't assume that your experience with Grandstream is typical. We
sell a lot of these phones and the overwhelming majority of the purchasers
are very happy with their units. The quality has improved tremendously over

New patches to Souffleur
Hello all,
I am really excited to post these new patches since a lot of things
have been done to the software lately. I know, I still have to write a
README file but I am struggling to get a "basic" functional version out
before I can concentrate efforts on documentation (I know, not the best
practice).
Anyway, here we go with the diffs and its comments:

Grandstream ATA 286 tdm400 and Asterisk 1.2-13
Hi people,
I would like to read your suggestions as to where the issue might be.
ATA286=Grandstream Budgetone ATA 286 in SIP mode. One Lan Port and one FXS port.
TDM04B= 4 FXO signal fxls
There is a 8FXO-to-SIP unit in this scenario that works perfectly so i
will not make mention of it.

Multiple AGI Issues
I've got several issues with AGI/FastAGI
1. When an AGI script sends a command to Asterisk via stdin, why does Asterisk block and not return a result until the command is complete? Specifically, the dial command. If I send a Dial command to Asterisk, I don't get a return result until AFTER the call is HUNG UP. Not when it's ringing, not when the call is connected, but when it's

Webcam streaming with ptalarbvorm
Hey all! I'm sure you've all been missing my webcam stream, so I
decided to start it up again (also, I wanted to do it for my family
overseas).
However, this time, I'm doing things a little bit differently. For
starters, the encoder is the current (as of about an hour ago)
ptalarbvorm branch which is destined to become libtheora 1.2. Another
difference is that I'm using

FPS Anomaly (screenshots)
When I run naiture in WINE (it is a Windows based program that I am trying to move to Linux/OpenSource) it says the FPS is like 500+ with just a block in the center. Yet the actual visual framerate is quite choppy:

Here it is running in full, the reported FPS is more realistic:
