I'm proposing to install an Asterisk PBX at a collocation facility for a remote customer. Each of the customer locations will have an SPA-3000 with the FXO port connecting a POTS circuit and the FXS port connecting a fax machine or red phone. In addition to voice traffic, the customer has a high volume of incoming and outgoing faxes. Would it be possible, using g711 between the SPA-3000

I tried this with no luck on the machine, seems the fax did not like even ulaw. Ended up just putting it inline, but of course, in a multi-line setup it could be a problem. Just a word of advice, get another line for it if you can. I fought for about a year with my pingtel ip phone over a wireless connection, now I got serious and got a normal line about 5 months ago. Much better off now...

Hi, Several people have reported problems sending faxes from spandsp-0.0.1k to Canon FAX machines. A spandsp user had the same problem with another make of FAX machine, and traced the problem to a bug in the file t30.c of spandsp. Line 542 says s->t4.rx_file[0] where it should say s->t4.tx_file[0]. This fixes his problem, and I suspect it will also fix the Canon fax machine problem.

I just looking about SpanDSP, Hylafax/Iaxmodem, AsterFax,...etc. The asterisk box has Digium hardware, one TE420B and one TDM2402 (8 FXO ports).
