centos + kswapd0 error
Hi all I have a box with Centos 4 and qmail with all pathches. since Last month i have had twice the same problem. The process kswapd0 uses all my resources of CPU and RAM memory and the consequence is that my local queue grow up and the box go slow too. The first time i guess the problem was the version of the kernel, so i did an upgrade form kernel.i686 2.6.9-5.0.3.EL to kernel.i686

Building Custom Kernel - CentOS 4.4
Hi All, I am having issue when trying to build a custom kernel in CentOS 4.4. Current Kernel Version is 2.6.9-42.ELsmp and the server is HP Proliant DL380 G3. I downloaded the source rpm and then installed it. Gave the command, rpmbuild -bp --target=i686 /usr/src/redhat/SPECS/kernel-2.6.spec. But it throws me an error after patch operations. The following is the error.

Anyone running VMWARE server on CentOS?
Hi, I guess the subject says it all.. I am thinking about combining a few servers onto a single server since they mostly do nothing much at all which would mean there would be less load on the UPS and a lot less noise in my office.. Since VMWare server is now free its probably the perfect time to do it.. The only issue is getting the VMWare up and running.. I would prefer to run it on

UP vs SMP kernel ?
There was a discussion here several days ago that was precipitated by my decision to manually install the new kernel before YUMming the upgrade to CentOS 4.2. The upgrade went south but I recovered by doing a fresh install and a bunch of copying from backups. All's well EXCEPT that I'm back in the same "box", thanks to anaconda. I set out to upgrade kernels this morning:

1.0.beta2 released
I had originally thought that I'd do a complete audit of the Dovecot's sources this weekend, but looks like I didn't. Hopefully I've been writing good enough code that the "1000 EUR for security hole" offer lasts for a long time. :) This release should fix the SSL parameter regeneration problem. There were two changes that were needed to fix it, but I had forgotten the

Adaptec Host Raid
Hi All, I need to install CentOS 4.0 x86_64 using Adaptec ASC-29320A with HostRAID enabled, but it seems my card isn't recognized. I've tried to install the hardware using driver downloaded for RHEL 4.0 from the Adaptec Website, but still it's unrecognized. P.S. I'm able to install RedHat 9.0 using this card before. Is there anyone have any solution for this? Thanks and

This worked and created the necessary .ko files Now I have to figure out why gnu parted 1.6.15 has bugs. when I try a partprobe on a partitioned firewire maxtor drive mount -t ocfs2 /dev/sdb1 /u01/oradata/orcl It says no such device.... Any ideas anyone?... Regards, Mandar Vengurlekar ----- Original Message ----- From: Mandar P

1.0beta3 released
Since there have been so many requests, I guess it's time for beta3 now. There are a couple of issues that I'm still concerned about, but those probably happen with beta2 as well. If you're beginning to see more connection hangs/timeouts with this release, please tell me. * Dotlock code changed to timeout faster in some situations when the lock file is old. + Added support for
