Asterisk voicemail problem with isdn avm fritz!card
Hello everyone, I have Asterisk SVN-trunk-r7498 installed on a server (celeron 2.4 Ghz, 256MB) with a TDM40b a TDM04b and an avm fritz!card pci. I experience a problem with voicemail: my messages are good unless the incoming call comes from isdn, which means via the avm fritz!card. In this case (and in this case only) the message is disjointed and I can hear at most 1 second out of a 1 minute

Cisco 7940 [SIP], DTMF and Voicemail
Hi everyone, I'd say this question has come up and been answered before but I haven't been able to find it. I have a Cisco 7940 that I've upgraded to SIP firmware (currently P0S-3-06-3-00 - for some reason there was a failure when trying to upgrade to V7 so I left it at V6). The problem I'm having is that when I connect to voicemail the DTMF key presses dont seem to work

Can't delete voicemail messages
Hi list, After recently setting up voicemail for Asterisk 1.4.14 on my Debian etch server, I noticed that I can't delete any old voicemail messages. The voicemail menu option "Press 7 to delete this message" is available, but when I press 7 the response is always "message undeleted" and the message is still there. What could I be missing here? Thanks, Jaap

Sangoma A200 preventing Zap channels from disconnecting immediately after PSTN line hangs up (getting empty voicemails)
As far as I can tell, after discussing this matter with other asterisk users in my area, my telco _does_ provide disconnect supervision.. It seems that the problem is actually related to the Sangoma A200 card I'm using, as two other people both using this same card have expressed the same problem.. Are there any other users on this list using the Sangoma A200 FXO port card, and experiencing

Numbered Voicemails even with delete option!
Hello, Thought people might be interested in this. I want my voicemails emailed to a person and not stored on my asterisk server. However, I want them to have a sequential number. I found that if I set the option delete=1 in my voicemail.conf file for the mailbox, then the numbering would keep being restarted. I wrote this shell script to fool Asterisk into numbering my voicemails sequentially

external voicemail access - solved (mostly)
thanks to those who replied. I have managed to get the functionality I was looking for working with a series of Macros. However, it doesn't work as simply as I would like. There are two issues I've run into: (1)Goto provides no way to pass variables between one context and another. (2)I can't find any way to Goto a specific point within a Macro when calling it. Mostly this is a

Voicemail messages not deleting
Hi, I have an odd situation where one certain user presses "7" to delete a voicemail. She gets a response saying that the message has been deleted, but it actually gets moved to her "Old" box. I have deleted her entries out of the config files and added them back. This seemed to correct the problem for a while. This started happening a couple of weeks later. I cannot

Voicemail: could not stop recording
Dear friends, please excuse me if my question will be trivial. I've installed and started Asterisk (stable 1.0.7, but with CVS HEAD I experienced just the same problem), and changed a bit sip.conf: [general] ; ... dtmfmode = inband disallow = all allow = ulaw allow = alaw allow = gsm run kphone, and call the 1235 extension. According to sample extensions.conf, Asterisk would

Deleting voicemail by program
Hi all, I need to be able to delete a voicemail message using a program. Is is sufficient to simply delete the .wav and .txt files in the spool directory? Or do I need to also renumber the remaining files? For example, let say a given mailbox has 20 messages in it and I want to delete message number 5. Can I just delete the 2 files and expect that asterisk will renumber them? Or do I

Blank Voicemails/Vonage Problem
Regarding this message, I've actually been told one caller who has consistently had this problem was using Vonage, but calling from his Verizon line, it worked. This skewed my survey. Therefore I do believe it's the same callers having the issue, and in which case, I think Vonage is to blame. I found this thread:

GoSub & Queue
I have a caller screen queue setup. Basically a caller calls in, goes through a IVR, and before that caller is put into the queue, they get a sub ran on them first asking for them to say there name. That gets saved and they are entered into the queue using Queue(mainqueue,,,,300). In the queues.conf i have a list of members these are local/extension at external-default, there are two

Touch tone recognition issues
I'm experiencing touch tone recognition issues when calling some outside phone systems. For instance, if I call my Nextel phone, and try to press * to enter my voicemail, Nextel's system does not "hear" the DTMF tone. I've also experienced other outside phone systems for which I am unable to use their touch tone menus. Oddly, this isn't the case with all outside systems.

DTMF not recognizing *
With our current setup, we have an older avaya system which is linked with our asterisk system via a em wink connection. When you press "2" on the avaya network, it will jump to our asterisk box and then sends DTMF digits. Asterisk listens for those numbers and then responses as soon as it has a match. The problem is with having a "send to voicemail" option. Right now, a user

Zap channels not disconnecting after PSTN line hangs up (getting empty voicemails)
When someone calls into our asterisk server over a PSTN line, dials an extension and then hangs up, the SIP phone related to the given extension will ring about 4 or 5 times before asterisk shows that the channel has been hung up in the console. This isn't such a big deal on its own, but what's happening now is that if a user calls in from a PSTN line, gets voicemail on the extension, and
