audio delay in meetme conference using ztdummy
I have Asterisk running on a Linux 2.4.x box with ztdummy. Once I did a modprobe on ztdummy I was able to enter into a conference room using my softphone clients. I'm using SJphone and Firefly. I have noticed a significant delay (1 to 3 seconds) while talking within the conference room. I have tried both clients, SIP and IAX protocols and various codecs. I have also tried it from different

"403 Forbidden" between two softphones on same Asterisk
Hi, I have two softphones connected to an Asterisk "stable". I have two extensions, say 1000 and 2000. When 1000 calls 2000, the call cannot be completed; the softphone (either Diax97a , SJphone, Firefly 1.8) on extension 2000 will ring, but as soon as the call is picked up, extension 2000 will hang up the call. The softphone on 1000 (SIP, SJphone, e.g.) will give a "403

When I dial from SJPhone (H323) ->

Buzzing / Humming Noise
Hi Lately I've been having problem with the handsets on the polycom phones. The agents are complaining that the humming/buzzing can be heard on random days. When the agents touch their computer the buzzing may increase louder or reduced. Also when they grab the handset cable, the buzzing noise is less loud and is loud again when I let it go. I have tried changing the handsets, problem not

2 minutes pause before ring on H323 channel

Buzzing on TDM400P FXS?
I have an intermittent problem with the one FXS line that I have. On most calls, the first ~5 seconds of the call has a loud buzzing noise on the line. After 5 seconds or so, it fades off to nothing, and the sound quality is great. Searching for "buzzing" on the list doesn't give a whole lot to work with. The buzzing happens on calls that are routed over both my FXO line and

bad case of buzzing
Hello, We are at wit's end on this. One (and only one) of our five asterisk installation is giving us real headaches. Buzzing and/or choppy sound interfere with conversations. I recorded some conversations with monitor() and no problem whatsoever appear in the recording, while the local user was hearing the buzz and half my words. This is a 1.2.16 installation with mISDN but mostly using

Echo with two IP phones through Asterisk using SIP
I have Asterisk running on my LAN with softphone clients (SJPhone) and Cisco 7940/60s, all using SIP. I also have a few remote sites connecting to my Asterisk server. I am getting an echo back of my voice when talking with one particular site. The caller does not hear an echo on their end. All calls on the LAN or to other sites do not produce an echo. When the caller places his SJPhone on

Asterisk and IAX softphone (firefly) problem/question
Quick question from a newbie, I have asterisk configured to dial IAX extensions (which works). When dialing from one IAX extension (using Firefly) to another IAX extension (also using Firefly), the Firefly client rings on the receiving end and gives the option of accepting or denying the call. However, when I dial in to Asterix using a VoicePulse number and dial the same extension Firefly

Really Wierd softphone problem ... must read
Hey guys, I have just developed this problem with my Windows XP box. I think it started since I installed XP SP2. Both SJPhone and Xlite does some kind of bridging with the speaker out port. When ever I make a sip call to where ever, the other party hears a lot of echoing. Well I noticed just now when I was playing mp3's via Winamp, the music was being played through my sip calls that I

Soft phone sound quality help
Anyone got any tips on improving sound quality on soft phones running under Window XP SP2? I have tried Xlite, SJPhone and Firefly. They all seem to have significant sound quality problems. We have a reasonable sized network of several hundred devices connected together using Layer 2 switches, i.e. pretty dumb switches with no QoS. I also have a Grandstream connected to the same switching gear.

Call retard from a softphone to a hardphone
Hi group I'm newbie on Asterisk so I followed the Linux Networking CookBook by Carla Schroder to make my first call. My asterisk box is on a Debian box with an public static IP. The clients (2) are with dynamic private IP's I'm using SJphone on a PC and a Linksys PAP2-NA to make calls between them. Both of them register well on my Asterisk server but when I call from the SJPhone to

Re: [Asterisk-Dev] Softphone for PocketPC or iPaq
I have tried sjphone - worked well, although I think my 3 year old IPAQ had a bit of a hard time keeping up with the pace as there was quite a delay in the speech. Probably says more about my ancient IPAQ than SJPhone. How to allow softphone to dial thru with full SIP URI?
I'm using the SJphone softphone, and I've got a nice little SIP-only setup, using (amongst others) stanaphone, VOIPtalk and FWD. But I'd like to be able to use my SJphones to dial directly to folks who provide a SIP URI, eg: 100@calluk.com, without either having to switch profiles in SJphone (to direct SIP) or having to define calluk.com (in this example) as a destination in

Cubix Softphone + Asterisk 1.2.6
I've tried Idefisk and Cubix Softphones, and they both work fine, except for two issues: 1. Idefisk seems to have a longer delay between the time I can hit tones, and 2. Cubix, while can send DTMF faster, never actually connects to an Asterisk-dialed call -- I can't hear the party who answers. #2 has been asked but unanswered here:

Cubix / Firefly softphone and Asterisk
Hi All Has anyone used Cubix / Firefly successfully with Asterisk? When someone calls a Cubix softphone, Cubix never seems to answer the call correctly. The other person just hears ringing even though it has been answered. I am using IAX as the SIP support doesn't seem to 100% either. Idefisk works 100% on the same setup. Kind Regards Garth

Strange softphone problem
Now here is strange problem i experience. Setup is easy, IAX line out with SIP softphone registered to Asterisk. All work fine except for one client. When using Sjphone the other end can not hear a thing. When using X-pro the opposite happens, local user can not hear a thing. These softphones work fine on other clients on same network. I've also tested several headsets but same outcome. Also
