Hitachi Cable WIP-5000 Wifi phone?
I see that ABPTech are now offering this SIP Wifi phone. Does anyone
have an experience with it? I've considered the Pulver/Zyxel wifi phone
but would really rather have something that can handle WEP or WPA. I
run an 802.11g wlan with 256 bit WPA encryption.
This Hitachi phone looks very much like a cell phone, which could be
ideal.

permission denied, no logs
Hi,
We have a sendmail/dovecot/squirrelmail installation that was working ok
except for deleted files showing in the list with a [d] beside it. In
trying to fix that issue, I apparently made a new error appear in the

CallerID name lookup AGI script
Hi all,
My VoIP provider (race.com) doesn't send name info with CallerID, so I wrote
an AGI script that does the following:
1) If it's a toll free number (800|888|877|866), set the CallerID name to
"TollFree Caller"
2) Use curl to look up the number in Google phonebook
3) If a business listing, set the CallerID name to business name, as is.
4) If it's a residential

paste adjacent elements matching string
Hi all,
I would like to combine elements of a vector:
vec <- c("astring", "b", "cstring", "d", "e")

[1] "astring" "b" "cstring" "d" "e"
such that for every element that contains "string" at the end, it is
combined with the next element, so that I get this:

WIP-5000 SIP Settings
Hi All,
I'm the happy new owner of a Hitachi WIP-5000 Wifi SIP handset. While
getting it working with * was not a problem it does occasionally get
too lagged for the default SIP settings. If I'm on a call then it goes
silent for an instant until it returns to <1000 ms lag. It's funny that
SIP SHOW PEERS reports the phone at 780 ms lag most of the time. Even
so calls don't sound

trouble loading R function code
I created an R function offline with a text editor and saved it as fhv.R
When I type in
load(file="fhv.R")
I get the message
Error: bad restore file magic number (file may be corrupted)-- no data
loaded
I've checked the file, and it opens up fine in Notepad and other text
editors. I also tried this from another folder and got the same message.
What's going on?
Thanks in advance.

paste first row string onto every string in column
Hi,
I am trying to edit a data frame such that the string in the first line is
appended onto the beginning of each element in the subsequent rows. The data
looks like this:

2 0103 0104 0401 0601
3 0103 0103 0301 0402

and what I want is this:

TRAVEL:
The closest airport is San Jose International Airport (SJC; 10 miles

SFO, and lastly OAK, depending upont he prices.

how to have 'match' ignore no-matches
Hi all,
I think this is a very basic question, but I'm new to this so please bear
with me.
I'm using match to translate elements of a data frame using a lookup table.
If the content of a particular cell is not found in the lookup table, the
function returns NA. I'm wondering how I can just ignore those cells, and
return the original contents if no match is found in the lookup table.

TFTP and DHCP...
Hi all,
I have bought an Aastra 480i phone.
In order to configure the phone for using a TFTP server, I had to enter
the TFTP ip address directly in the phone, and then reboot the phone
again.
Is it possible to configure a DHCP server so it sends a TFTP server
coordinate for the phone to use?
Best regards,
Francois
