Good NAT Pnp Hardphone
Hello All,
I am looking for a sip phone that is capable of automatic nat. The
Cisco ata186 for example works fine for natting with iconnecthere, but
as for asterisk, both my 7960 and polycom ip600 require you to set the
nat ip on the tftp.
Does anyone know a good phone (or ata) that can do this automatically?
For example,
I want to give a phone to my brother, who is going to europe. His ICH

Guys.
What do I need to configure in order to let my Asterisk receive calls from
sip phones, etc not registered with my server on my extension?
For example, let people use their asterisks or sip phones to call
blah111@server.com?

One * server unavailable when multiple servers connected together
Hello.
I was just brainstorming for a future project and was hoping to get some
creative ideas from the list. If I have multiple * servers at multiple
locations all connected together with a nicely partitioned dialplan (2XX for
office 1, 3XX for office 2, etc.) it's pretty straightforward to link them
all using IAX and allow intra-office transfers.
Further, servers at each location are

astcc no billed cost
Can anyone please help with an astcc problem. I just got it going, but
"billed cost" stays 0.
The test route is setup with "Inc. Seconds" = 6 and "Cost per additional
minute" = 10000.
What can the problem be?

OT- USA reseller list required
I've got a project where I need to sell a voip QOS product from
Australia to US resellers.
I don't suppose anyone here knows where I can find a list of a whole
heap of US resellers do you in either VOIP or IP space?

connecting a sipura sip device to asterisk before dialing any digits
I would like the ability for a sipura sip device to
instantly connect to an asterisk server as soon as
the sipura sip device goes offhook and before
any digits are pressed. This way asterisk can
provide the dialtone and the dialplan.
This also allows me to play a greeting to the phone
before giving them a dialtone.
Is there any way to do this, like possibly having the sipura
device dial a

French SIP or IAX phones
Is there any SIP or IAX phones that can be configure in french
instead of english. I tested Cisco 7960 phones but I can't change the

simple over view of the process
Hello All,
Please forgive the lack of understanding as of yet but I have been trying
to follow the mailing list messages over the last few days and would like
to know if someone could wither point me into the right direction or
possibly give me a brief overview of the complete process.
Basically, I see that the Asterisk PBX systems can run on linux and seems
to offer the engine base that is

How to connect across the Internet
Hello All,
Well my Samba server is up and running good, but I am now needing to
be able to let some of my users connect to our server who is not
located on our local network.
Actually they are located some distance away and I would like to be
able to allow then to connect.
Has anyone had any success with this and how it might be done?
Best Regards,
Lonnie

OpenOffice 641c and Wine
Hello All,
I am new to using wine on my Linux redhat 7.2 so please forgive the
dumb questions, ok.
I have been able to run a few of my Windows Applications from wine as
a test, but ran into problems when I wanted to try a test and install
OpenOffice 641c.
I am getting messages like:

Is there something missing?
Hello All,
I hope that you are all doing well. I have been trying to get Samba
setup and running on my Redhat 7.2 box so that users on Windows
machines can login and be connected to their directory.
The problem is that no matter what I try, I can see the Samba server
from the Windows machine, but it keeps telling me that the password
was not recognized and is the same linux password for each

using smbadduser non-interactively
Hello All,
Could someone please tell me if there is a was to use smbadduser in a
non-interactive mode and just allow you to enter all of the
particular user information on the command line?
I need to set up a small script that will automate adding users to
the smbpasswd file so that they can login.
Cheers,

Fax service (instead of tdm card)
FYI to the list....
I gave up (for now) trying to make spandsp work with the digium TDM
card. Instead, I signed up with www.trustfax.com at a cost of $9.95
per year plus $.10/page. Since we only deal with an estimated 120
pages per year, the total cost of about $22/year seemed like a very
reasonable alternative. (At least until we can find out why the TDM
card does not function properly with

Zaptel Needed
Hello All,
Can someone please tell me about Zaptel?
Is it only needed if you are going to have an interface card like TDM400P
installed on the Asterisk server?
Do you really need it if you do not have the interface card?
Thanks,

CallerID name lookup AGI script
Hi all,
My VoIP provider (race.com) doesn't send name info with CallerID, so I wrote
an AGI script that does the following:
1) If it's a toll free number (800|888|877|866), set the CallerID name to
"TollFree Caller"
2) Use curl to look up the number in Google phonebook
3) If a business listing, set the CallerID name to business name, as is.
4) If it's a residential

Asterisk and SER differences
Hello All,
I have been trying to do a lot of reading lately on the Asterisk project,
and I would like to know of someone could tell me mor about the PRO's and
CON's between ASTERISK and SER?
I have heard that some people use them both in a particular VoIP design
and I would like to try and understand why you might want to do that along
with how the two can work totegher and communicate.
