I have been asked to update OpenLDAP to the latest stable version. I am using CentOS 4.2 and have OpenLDAP 2.2.13 installed. I can install from source if I have to, but I would rather stay with rpm packages if possible. I found an rpm from Fedora Core Development on RPMFIND. Will this one work with Centos, or should I grab the source rpm and rebuild it? Bowie

Are there any open source efforts ( I haven't found any) that have a tftp server with a mysql backend? I'd like an incoming pxelinux request to give the tftp server the mac address, and then it performs a query to find out which configuration file it should get. Hi, To get my system on time, I usually issue these two commands: # ntpdate de.pool.ntp.org # hwclock -w And when I want this to be done on startup, I put the two lines in rc.local. I wonder if this is an orthodox way to do things. Or is there something more appropriate? Niki Kovacs

I have no use for ypbind so I'm trying to prevent from being installed, but kickstart/anaconda always insist on its installation (complaining that the package is missing). Hi All, I am trying to recompile the stock kernel to include XFS. At install time of the OS I select to install the kernel source code however I do not have a /usr/src/linux-2.6.9-5.0.3.EL-smp directory. I installed CentOS 3.4 from a CD image I'd burned a while ago, and then attempted to update with yum to 3.7. All the packages installed OK, but at the very end of final cleanup I got an error message from db4 saying to "RUN RECOVERY".
