CentOS4 and older megaraid
Release notes say no support for the RAID card in a box I just picked up...is there no hope for this box running 2.6 kernel? http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-4-Manual/release- notes/as-x86/ The kernel shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 includes the new megaraid_mbox driver from LSI Logic, which replaces the megaraid driver. The megaraid_mbox driver has an improved design,

menu.c32 - Just loads the menu.c32 over and over.
Hi, I am trying to use the Simple Menu system for SYSLINUX/ISOLINUX, but it fails to work. The menu apper, I can select menu entries, but pressing "ENTER" just takes me back to start. It seem like menu.c32 just reloads. Pressing Space does almost the same, exept the selected item is the one on the bottom instead of the top. By pressing ESC and getting back to command line, I am able

local port redirect not working on Centos4
Hello, I want to redirect one local port to another. I am using the following: iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 7003 -j REDIRECT --to-ports 80 and testing it by telneting to localhost on port 7003. It works on Centos3, not on Centos4. No luck with this either: iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 7002 -j DNAT --to 127.0.0.1:80 Am I doing something wrong? Or did something

sshd ipv6 logging in CentOS4
Hello folks, Since I started using CentOS4, one thing has been bugging me: sshd's ipv6 logging as seen here: Failed password for root from ::ffff:83.220.130.10 port 43511 ssh2 Not a big deal, but I'd be really happy if I could get it to log in ipv4 format like on CentOS3. Any suggestion? Thanks, Francois

Drives Not Recognized on Dell Poweredge 1550 CentOs4 install
I have a new (used)Dell Poweredge 1550 server with 2 scsi drives (dual 1ghz w/ 2048MB) that I'm attempting to install CentOs 4 onto and am having problems getting the darn thing to recognize the hard drives. (it's worth noting that it's running RAID 0 and the RAID bios recognizes both drives as being in "optimal" state). I start the installation process and all is going

NFS v4
Hello all, Do you guys use NFS v4 in production? Is the Linux implementation ready enough? The feeling I'm getting by looking at RH doc and other web sites is that v4 was added in a hurry and is not mainstream yet. I don't want to use something too cutting edge that will break down the road. Is that the case? In my case, it would be a CentOS5 server with CentOS4 client. Thanks, --

Xen and multiple block devices
Hello, CentOS 5.0 on x86_64 I'm trying to set up Xen paravirt guests with access to 2 block devices: One for / and one for swap. The block devices are LVM LVs, but that shouldn't matter. When I create the guest using either virt-manager or virt-install, I get asked which device to use for xvda. But I want more block devices: xvdb for swap. I know how to add this as an option to the

OK. time to make some contribution (centos4/ppc)
Hi, Even now someone is actually installing (i see that from the ftp-server logs) the centos-4/ppc beta-version from announced place. You people have to stand up and _TELL_ me what kind of hardware _IS_ working, so we would know more than already know - 43p works. I can't believe that all those, who installs, does have 43p too? Please? Something, so if it's actually working on
