how to find last updates for Centos 5.3?
I'm setting up a Rocks Cluster Linux system <http://www.rocksclusters.org> using Centos 5.3 as the OS. Rocks is an organizing framework for multi node systems, it tries to orchestrate kickstart installs across many systems and interaction among those many systems as a compute cluster. One problem with administering these systems is that the OS updates can break the Rocks framework.

Forget Asterisk@Home 0.7 :-) :-) 0.8 is out
0.8 appears to have been released. Start with that. It is very quick to update your current 0.6 or 0.7 iso. Just do this with rsync to do a differential copy: $ mv asteriskathome-0.7.iso asteriskathome-0.8.iso $ rsync -av --progress --partial \ prdownloads.sourceforge.net::sourceforge/a/as/asteriskathome/asteriskathome-0.8.iso . $ rsync -av \

Fighting some install issues with a new box
Folks- I have had a machine dropped in my lap that I am trying to get CentOS 4.1 to run on as a first pass (the hope is for it to eventually run Rocks -- http://www.rocksclusters.org , which uses CentOS 4.x as its underlying OS). The machine has 2 Opteron 250DP (2.4GHz) with 4 GB of RAM. It is using a Tyan Thunder K8WE (S2895A2NRF) motherboard with an nVidia nForce chipset --

What wrong with asteriskathome.org
I saw on here where there was an asteriskathome site where I could sign up for the mailing list. However when I bring up that site I just get a blank page. Is www.asteriskathome.org the correct address? Bob

openfiler (was: using CentOS as an iSCSI server?)
> Simple, it's only a NAS device, and not really a file server / web > server / data base server as well. Here is something I am currently lokoing at, and wondering if you'd considered it or if anyone here has done it. I've got a bunch of existing hardware - really good IBM stuff that is all installed with CentOS (with a few exceptions). We want to move to virtualization, but

HELP - RAC Cant fsck bad superblock
Hi All I just installed a 2 node ,10 r2 rac on centos Linux 4.6 My rac install was done by following Jeff Hunters document (excellent work!) http://www.idevelopment.info/ For storage I used openfiler with the iscsi protocol http://www.openfiler.com/ everything went perfect... to the letter, I gracefully shutdown the 2 nodes , then the openfiler appliance, when I went to start it back up,

Openfiler question - fiber channel?
Hey folks, I don't seem to be able to get a response from the openfiler forums (and they want 40 quid for the fine manual!), and since there has been a lot of chat about it here lately, I figured I'd ask here. Please forgive my terminology as I am just making my first baby steps into iSCSI and Fiber Channel, and am not very well read on the matters. So I could be using the wrong terms

Sorry to be a bother ISO root password
As far as I can make out the root password for the ISO download is supposed to be epping or EPPING depending upon which version you are using. I've downloaded an ISO image from the following link but neither passwords seem to work :( http://ovh.dl.sourceforge.net:80/sourceforge/asteriskathome/asteriskathome-0.6.iso any one know the password for this one? -- Regards Phil -- This

Issues with iSCSI, Hosts Crashing
Two questions (and then a bonus one), kind of interrelated, but, first, some basic info. I'm using OCFS2 on OpenSUSE 10.2, kernel 2.6.18.8(-0.7). There are three nodes in the OCFS2 cluster, backed by Openfiler iSCSI storage. First, I'm using Openfiler and iSCSI volumes to back my OCFS2 file system. The nodes that are part of the OCFS2 cluster use the file system as a shared storage

Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
Hello everyone, I''m quite a newbie with Xen and I''m currently having an issue. I run Xen 4 on Debian Squeeze x64 and I''m trying to build an OpenFiler DomU from the Xen domU filesystem tarbal they provide (See http://www.openfiler.com/community/download/). I downloaded the tarball and run ''tar xzpvf /root/soft/openfiler-2.3-x86_64.tar.gz'' to extract

Using C++14 code in LLVM
For anyone still on gcc 4.2.1, then I think this entire discussion is kind of irrelevant, because they are already having to build a new toolchain to compile LLVM, since the minimum is currently 4.7. So for those people, I would imagine 4.7 vs. 4.9 makes no difference? Maybe I'm misunderstanding the table of the distrowatch page, but if FreeBSD 11 has clang 3.8 as you say, why does

Using C++14 code in LLVM
The BSDs don't seem as much of an issue. FreeBSD 10 and 11 both have LLVM 3.9 and GCC 4.9. NetBSD 6.1.5 and 7.0 both have GCC 5.3 and LLVM 3.8. Open BSD has a very old GCC, but distrowatch claims that it also has LLVM 3.8. Going back to what Joerg said earlier. http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=netbsd says NetBSD 7 ships with GCC 5.3, but Joerg said 4.8. Which is it? And even

CentOS MD RAID 1 on Openfiler iSCSI
Has anybody tried or knows if it is possible to create a MD RAID1 device using networked iSCSI devices like those created using OpenFiler? The idea I'm thinking of here is to use two OpenFiler servers with physical drives in RAID 1, to create iSCSI virtual devices and run CentOS guest VMs off the MD RAID 1 device. Since theoretically, this setup would survive both a single physical drive
