chan_skinny and firmware upgrade
Hello all,
I am trying to upgrade the firmware on my cisco 7910 without using CCM. I was told that
chan skinny is possibly capable of doing that and would like to make
sure.
I have P00405000600 firmware which I have put in version in
skinny.conf. the phone basiclaly stops at verifying load. tcpdump
shows nothing happening apart from small amount of traffic to port
2000 (skinny).
Does anyone

Cisco 12sp+ program update
does anyone have a running cisco 12sp+ or 30 vip phone on their network?
and if so could you also tell me what tftp files you actually use and if there are any special settings in skinny.conf that i need?
(I ran several searches for setup, nothing has come up so far so i'll ask for advice now.)
Thanks

Cisco 12sp+ and 30VIP
I've searched high and lo and googled to I can't google no more... I
knew that Cisco bought Selsius to get their VoIP solution but what I
didn't know was that the 12sp+ is based upon an ITE-12 product that is
apparently used at universities. I've taken two of the phones apart and
started swapping parts and have looked up the IC's on the Internet...
Anyway... After using

Two offices connection
I would like connect two offices where one office have 4 PSTN Analog lines
and another office without any PSTN. Both the offices will have two separate
Asterisk server with TDM400P cards (4 ports FXS & FXO).
My questions is that how to configure Asterisk to forward the PSTN calls
directly
to another Asterisk which has the TDM400P card without pressing the
extension
number.

[Release] Skinny Support in cvs
If you have been paying attention, you already know this, but this
weekend I have spent time ironing out the various details with my
chan_skinny code that has been out there, if you knew where to look. I
believe I now have all basic features operational and am going to be
working on getting the class 5 (hold, transfers, call waiting and
caller*id, etc) operational in the comming week(s).

Cisco 12SP+
Hi,
I'm thinking about getting a couple of Cisco 12SP+ phones to use on my Asterisk system.
I have just bought a Cisco 7960, and they are great, but too expensive to buy a lot of them, so I though I might try the 12SP+ ones.
I have seen in the archives that the phones work on Asterisk, but I can't see much in there about the images in use.
When I got my 7960, it had the call manager

Sipura 2000 w/fax machine oddities
I'm really trying to understand this. I have a Sipura 2000, brother
MFC, and SpanDSP set up on asterisk.
because asterisk softfax was not working well, i set up faxes to goto
line2 on the sipura. this is working fine, i have only tested a few
short faxes, but already my completion rate was 100% vs 5-10% that
spandsp and asterisk gave me.
here's the odd part. using the fax machine, I

no caller ID presented from 12SP+
Hi folks,
I have got a Cisco 12SP+ working (thanks Derek!) but I'm having a minor
issue with it. When I use it to call another desk I get no CallerID. The
receiving phone diplsays "asterisk" as the CID. Below is the skinny.conf
stanza.

chan_skinny & XML Files for 7920
Hi,
I have a Cisco 7920 that I'm trying to get working with my * box. When the
phone boots it requests XMLDefault.cnf.xml and SEP<MACADDRESSHERE>.cnf. I
assume I set the line number, etc in the latter of the two. However I
cannot find any reference to how this file is structured. Anyone know?
I assume this is why I'm getting the errors below:

Chan_SCCP vs. Chan_Skinny
Lacy's response in the thread 'Why does
everyone seem to dislike *now?', has a small
bit that caught my eye.
Chan_Skinny made a lot of progress between 1.2 and
1.4, and even more in the later 1.4.X releases.
I am curious as to which features/functions that
chan_skinny might be lacking compared to chan_sccp.
We (the community) now have a small, but active,

Newbie with 12sp+
Hi
I have problem with Asterisk an 12sp+ phone. Asterisk's skinny
implementation doesn't correctly processes 'onhook' event from phone, so
voice channel stays opened and no new calls can be received by phone.
What i'm doing wrong? :)

cisco 12sp+/30vip IP phone
I was able to get Asterisk working with the demo on FreeBSD 5.3 without crashing, but not the music on hold, so I just have that disabled for now, but I'm ready to get some IP hardware working.
So I picked up a Cisco 12sp+ IP phone (mistake?) and am having difficulty finding any truly helpful instructions / troubleshooting to get this configured to work with asterisk. If I could just get

chan_skinny still maintained?
Hi,
I've managed to acquire a few Cisco handsets (7905, 7920) and would like to
use them with Asterisk.
Rather than simply switching to the SIP firmware I thought I'd use these
with chan_skinny - partly because this is Cisco's primary firmware and
therefore the phones might be more stable, and partly to help test
chan_skinny as it seems to be generally underused. (Is functionality

Setup speed dials on Cisco 7921
I've added lines like this:
speeddial = 123,test
speeddial = 260,Bob
in the [device] section for my 7921, but the speed dials do NOT appear on
the menu (click right from the main screen). Am I missing something obvious
here?
Thanks

disable chan_skinny and chan_oss
How do I disable chan_skinny and chan_oss?
I think chan_skinny is associated with Cisco hardware, since I don't
have any I don't need this channel.
I just want to get rid of those warning messages at start up.

chan_skinny core dump
Hi all:
I've got some core dumps with chan_skinny. The client is ATA186 with v2.16.1.ms ata18x (Build 030814a). The * version is CVS-10/05/03-16:03:26.
When I make a call, the phone connected with ATA rings only 1 time and * dies. Maybe I have some errores in ATA config. If someone has proven configs for ATA, please send me the details.
Thanks in advance,
Gus
