A room full of Cisco 7960s behind NAT
I need to set up an office full of Cisco 7960 phones behind NAT with the
server out in Colo.
The first test phone registers fine, but the second one does not register.
The first phone's registration looks like so:
/SIP/Registry/3115552368
:64.169.xx.yyy:38836:3600:3115552368:sip:3115552368@64.169.xx.yyy:5060
When the second phone tries to register, it gets back a 404 not found. Not

Sipura 3000 FXO with Asterisk
Anybody using a Sipura 3000 for FXO with Asterisk?
Mine is working except for one small nit...
When a call comes in from the PSTN, the Sipura answers it and then passes
it on to Asterisk, which plays extension ring tone.
I'd prefer for the POTS line to stay on-hook while the extension rings, and
to only be answered by the Sipura when the extension answers.
Has anybody made this work?

Calculating required bandwidth
I was posed this question:
A T1 set up for voice carries 24 conversations on a circuit that is 1.544
megabits/second. Right?
Well, if you set that T1 up to carry data and run a link between two IP
networks over it, how many SIP conversations could it be expected to carry?
How about IAX?
How would one extend this calculation to varying bandwidth circuits and
various VOIP protocols (MGCP,

sending traffic to LiveVoip
I have several DIDs (working well) with LiveVoip and I just signed up for
some outbound minutes. Unfortunately they did not send connection
instructions.
I tried:

but I get the error

Difference between a TE410P and TE405P?
Can anybody tell me the difference between a TE410P and a TE405P? Is it
JUST the 5v vs 3.3v pcis slot spec, or is there some thing else?

Has anybody implemented this in dialplan language? If not, in some other
fashion.

Error: C stack usage is too close to the limit when using list.files()
R-helpers:
I'm running a file search on my entire drive (Mac OS X) using:
files_found <- list.files(dir="/",pattern=somepattern,recursive=TRUE,full.names=TRUE)
where somepattern is a search pattern (which I have confirmed via a
unix "find / -name somepattern" only returns ~ 3 results).
I keep getting an error:

puppetd 0.25.4 with puppetmaster 0.24.8?
Our puppetmaster runs 0.24.8 on Ubuntu 9.10. Our clients are either
Ubuntu 9.10 or Ubuntu 8.04.
We''ve just brought up our first Ubuntu 10.04 machine. This machine
installs puppetd 0.25.4.
The Ubuntu 10.04 machine can''t seem to present it''s certificate request
properly.
In my masterhttp.log, I see

Siemens optiPoint 300
Anybody using Siemens optiPoint 300 H.323 phones? I saw a few references to
them in the archives of this list, and the Wiki seems to be down.
I have a chance to pick up a bunch of these, cheap.
Questions:
* Asterisk support?
* What sort of power supplies will they need? The bunch I am looking at are
surplus and have no supplies.
Thanks,

Cisco 7940 Volume low
I have a newly installed 7940 running Sip 3-04-4.
When I place or receive a call, the incoming volume is low and I have to
crank the volume slider almost to the extreme high end. This makes dial
tone and other call progress tones very LOUD.
This behavior was observed when the other end was IAX and also Zap.
Transferring the call to a Zap extension results in a much improved
incoming volume.

Best R text editors?
Quick informal poll: what is everyone's favorite text editor for working
with R? I'd like to hear from people who are using editors that have
some level of direct R interface (e.g. Tinn-R, Komodo+SciViews). Thanks!

Easier ways to create .Rd files?
R-helpers:
Are there any ways to auto-generate R-friendly (e.g. will pass a
compilation check) .Rd files given a set of .R code? How about GUIs
that help properly format the .Rd files? Thanks! I want a basic set
of .Rd files that I can update as I go, but as with most things my
documentation typically lags behind my coding by a few days.

Contour plot overlayed with line plot
I apologize for what may be a newbie question: I have two sets of data, one
is X,Y,Z data that I'd like to make a contour plot of (Z defining the
contours), and a second set of X,Y data (Y as a function of X) which I would
like made into a line plot OVERLAYED on the contour plot (X and Y from both
plots are in the same units and will have overlapping values). Any
suggestions on how to do this

dbSendQuery with R variables
Rhelpers:
I'd like to modify this RSQLite statement:
rs_stations<-dbSendQuery(con_stations, "select * from stations")
so that stations is actually an R variable, e.g.:
stations=c("stationA","stationB")
How would I modify the above statement to query from stations[[1]]
(aka "stationA")?

Speech Recognition
Does anyone know of a speech recognition module (like say yes or no, or
numbers) I guess due to the complexity of speech recognition it might just
be found in commercial applications or am I wrong like always?
