Problem with asterisk-addons/OS X
Hi,
Having all sorts of troubles getting mysql cdr support under OS X.
Mysql, DBI and DBD all installed and running ok, privileges all set
correctly (I think). Latest asterisk-addons checked out of cvs. Keep
getting error on make install (implies gcc doesn't support -shared
linking, which is wierd):
Anyone got mysql cdr support running on OS X?
Cheers

Asterisk-addons/OS X woes
Hi,
Know there has been numerous posts on the subject of asterisk-addons
and OS X. We have other uses for MySQL on the machine so changing over
to Postgres at this point (which apparently works for CDRs) is not
really an option. Have also contemplated a cron job to simply poll the
csv cdrs and insert them into MySQL. Messy but gets over the short
term problem.
Compilation problem does

asterisk-addons / OS X woes (continued)
Hi,
Using Zack's -shared replacement posted earlier, addons now compiles.
For some reason though, when trying to load it cannot find
cdr_mysql.conf even though it's in the /etc/asterisk directory as it
should be.
Anyone with any ideas? There's still references to _i386 files that
are probably incorrect as well. Thanks

A general deployment question (OT)
Does anyone have a guesstimate of how many active Asterisk
installations there are? Sorry this is off topic, need it for a
customer proposal and they need comfort on stability. A count of the
downloads from Digium would be a good start but I couldn't find this
anywhere with Google. Feedback from anyone who may know near actual
data would be appreciated rather than simply guessing,

Can't create audio conversation between softphones through Asterisk
Hello,
I have two user machines, each with a jain-sip-applet-phone installed on it. I use the following process to try to make a call:
1. Register each phone with the Asterisk server (working).
2. Add a contact in each phone which is the other user. (Get a "489 Bad Event" SIP error shown below in red)
202 at 192.168.1.252 has been added to your contacts.

how to remove MWI from a Polycom phone
Hi,
I'd like to disable MWI on certain lines of my IP650 Polycom phone. So I
removed the "mailbox=" parameter from that line's peer section in
sip.conf. Yet the envelope still appears in front of that line and the
phone MWI keeps blinking.
Where should I look to completely disable MWI on a certain line?
Thanks,

Avaya 9620 phone using Firmware 2.0.1.34 has working MWI lamp
I just registered an Avaya 9620 set to my Astlinux system (0.47 - Asterisk
1.2.22), using Avaya SIP Firmware version 2.0.1.34.
Set mailbox=ext at default in the sip.conf
Found MWI worked immediately. Turned off as expected.
Have Fun!
Tom

Subscribe to a MWI when acting as a SIP client?
Hi all,
I'm trying to configure an * box for my home in an embedded device, so
I want a minimum configuration. I've already configured it to connect
to my SIP provider and my IP phones and ATAs, so far so good. My SIP
provider gives me voicemail service and I'm happy with it. I don't
want to run voicemail services in my * box.
Is it possible for asterisk to subscribe to my SIP

Avaya SIP phones (4610SW) and MWI
Hi all,
I'm new to the list, so I apologize in advance if I'm beating a dead horse
by asking this, but I read somewhere that asterisk 1.4 has MWI working for
Avaya and their rather troublesome SIP firmware. Can anyone verify this
before I go changing phone systems around?
Thanks
Derek

Pass MWI from analog line through DAHDI?
Is it possible to pass the Message Waiting indicator from an analog line
to a DAHDI port and into asterisk (and to an extension)?
Thanks,

Definity G3R and MWI
Hey everybody,
I've just spent the last two hours Googling and searching the Wiki. I'm
trying to find if there are any listings of codes for the Avaya Definity
G3R, to allow for an Asterisk system to turn on/off a phones MWI that is
attached to a G3. We are looking to use an Asterisk system as a voice
mail server.
I'm not having any luck, anybody have such information?
Thanks,

Polycom MWI.
Hey, all. I'm all over MWI, but I gotta say that I think the Polycoms go
a bit over the top. The blinking LED is enough for me; how do I disable
the stuttered dialtone and the audible warble? I've looked through the
config files, but there are a HELL of a lot of options, and I haven't been
able to find those particular ones yet.
Thanks!

MWI
I have always been confused about how MWI is working with asterisk. If a
SIP device has the option to subscribe to MWI, should it? I think
asterisk sends NOTIFY messages to SIP clients if the sip peer entry has
"mailbox=". Is there any advantage then to leaving that out of the sip
peer entry and having the device itself register for the messages? Is it
really one and the same

Message notification without MWI
Hello,
For a couple of hardphones which do not have Message Waiting Indicator, I'm
wondering what could be the most efficient and reliable way to notify users
a message is waiting.
Though messages could be sent as email attachment, I'm thinking I should
mimic cellphones behaviour like this:
5 min after a message if left, then call back mailbox owner and let him
listen to its message,
