Asterisk/Zaptel on Mac G5 or Xserve
I am considering a G5/XServe for a conferencing system. I need to put a TDM card in the machine for timing. Is anyone out there using Asterisk on Mac with zaptel drivers? I am looking at using Linux for the OS. If so what is your experience? Have a great day! Geoff

Integration with Altigen
I would like to integrate * with an existing Altigen PBX. I want to spend as little money as possible to make it happen. My main goal is to inexpensively connect a branch office to the phone system. Eventually I would like to replace the Altigen system with an Asterisk server so I don't want to spend any money on Altigen hardware. Currently the Altigen has analog interfaces with a couple

PowerEdge R510 with PERC H200/H700 with ZFS
Anyone have any experience with a R510 with the PERC H200/H700 controller with ZFS? My perception is that Dell doesn''t play well with OpenSolaris. Thanks, Geoff

a single nfs file system shared out twice with different permissions
I am trying to configure a system where I have two different NFS shares which point to the same directory. The idea is if you come in via one path, you will have read-only access and can''t delete any files, if you come in the 2nd path, then you will have read/write access. For example, create the read/write nfs share: zfs create tank/snapshots zfs set sharenfs=on tank/snapshots root

Debian way of compiling zaptel kernel modules
I ran "apt-get -b source zaptel-source" to download and compile the zaptel source. It successfully compiles and builds the following packages: libtonezone-dev_1.0.2-2_i386.deb libtonezone1_1.0.2-2_i386.deb zaptel-source_1.0.2-2_all.deb zaptel_1.0.2-2_i386.deb None of them contain the kernel modules. Is there a way I can get it to compile the kernel modules? Thanks, Geoff

how to keep Asterisk up to date on many servers
Hi Everyone. Asterisk is one of those applications that need to be built from cvs on a regular basis to keep up with the changes. I have always used package management tools like apt. How does everyone manage their Asterisk servers? Geoff

block align SSD for use as a l2arc cache
I have an Intel X25-M 80GB SSD. For optimum performance, I need to block align the SSD device, but I am not sure exactly how I should to it. If I run the format -> fdisk it allows me to partition based on a cylinder, but I don''t think that is sufficient enough. Can someone tell me how they block aligned an SSD device for use in l2arc. Thanks, Geoff

can you recover a pool if you lose the zil (b134+)
I was messing around with a ramdisk on a pool and I forgot to remove it before I shut down the server. Now I am not able to mount the pool. I am not concerned with the data in this pool, but I would like to try to figure out how to recover it. I am running Nexenta 3.0 NCP (b134+). I have tried a couple of the commands (zpool import -f and zpool import -FX llift) root at

Single or Dual Processor? High volume MeetM e
I'm trying to get a souped-up test machine(G5 Xserve) from Terrasoft to do some testing in a few weeks. If/when I actually get it I'll certainly post the results here. In theory the G5 should mop the floor with the Intel for high-volume Asterisk Zaptel usage, and I have heard from several Mac-heads that they have run three quad T1 digium cards on the Mac platform with no problems.

Problems connecting xlite phone
I am using the latest xlite phone to connect to the latest version of asterisk (20040727). When I try to make a call the xlite phone tells me "Call not approved". I used the configuration options that were listed on the wiki. The context in the sip.conf file is "from-sip". I have a matching context listed in the extensions.conf file. The phone is able to register

Meetme scalable to 300 people?
Hi everyone. I am looking at providing a conference for up to 300 people and was wondering if anyone has scaled meetme to 300 people. Here are some points: 1) I am using an IAX2 gateway hosted on a VOIP service provider. 2) The machine is hosted at the providers site so one has to assume that bandwidth is not going to be an issue. 3) Everything is coming in as ULAW so we won't need to

Windows XP machine cannot be accessed
I have a small peer to peer network of 4 machines, WinME, Win2K Pro SP4, Win XP Pro SP2 and Linux Mandrake 10.1 Samba 3.0.10.1. I am pretty new at Linux but have been around computers for a very long time. The Linux installation went smoothly, MDK and KDE3 utilities make it simple for newbies to get things running, so Samba went together quite easily but I now have a problem I have been

Now the test for the Vertex 2 Pro. This was fun. For more explanation please see the thread "Crucial RealSSD C300 and cache flush?" This time I made sure the device is attached via 3GBit SATA. This is also only a short test. I''ll retest after some weeks of usage. cache enabled, 32 buffers, 64k blocks linear write, random data: 96 MB/s linear read, random data: 206 MB/s linear

Orc JIT v2 breaks OpenMP in 11.x branch?
Hi Geoff, Nothing in that backtrace leaps out at me. Based on the stack trace and description my first guess would be a clang misconfiguration rather than a JIT bug. How is that clang invocation being made? Is it from inside a callback from ORC, or is it before you add your module to the JIT? -- Lang.
