What different between asterisk-oh323 and astersk's chan_h323 ?
Dear ALL:
I find that everybody discuss with asterisk-oh323 instead of chan_h323
of asterisk channels. Why do they choose asterisk-oh323 and not use
the build-in module (chan_h323)? What different between these two
componments?
In my guess, the build-in module should be easy to implement rather
than setup another application(asterisk-oh323) expect some bugs or
failed functions on chan_h323.

ERROR[16384]: chan_h323.c:1987 load_module: Gatekeeper registration failed
I'm trying to configure Chan_H323 to register with GnuGK... without
success... i've failed finding sample configurations.
I'd greatly appreciate anyone who can provide sample config of H323.conf
and gnugk.ini
I am tyring to configure Asterisk as a neighbor in GnuGK.
I'm always getting this error on Asterisk.

Chan_h323 & gnugk
Ok, I've managed to get inbound and outbound calling to work with chan_h323
and gnugk.
A few questions:
1) if I do a reload in *, chan_h323 loses its registration with gnugk, and
will no longer pass calls to it. A second reload will crash *. Is this
supposed to be?
2) For a configuration in h323.conf like:
[office]
type=h323
prefix=9
context=outbound
I get a message saying:

oh323 context for peers
I am experimenting with oh323 channels and h.323 gateways and a Cisco
CallManager. I am not using a gatekeeper at this time. Is it possible to
place calls coming into Asterisk from specific peers into specific
contexts?
In iax.conf eaxh peer has a context in which I can specify the context an
inbound call will be placed in. I don't see anything like this in the
oh323.conf file or the oh323

Setting the H323 Callerid sent by asterisk (using chan_h323)
Successfully hooked up a Cisco CallManager to a local * installation
via H323. Things are working fine when dialling from CCM to *, but
I'm seeing a callerid of 'root' coming up on the CCM Phone when
dialling into *. Is there any way of setting this to be something
else? I'm guessing the name is coming from the ID that * is running
as.
I'm using the chan_h323 driver and

chan_h323 doesn't pass audio before call is answered
Hi,
I have the following topology:
PSTN/H323 gateway->GNUGK->chan_h323/chan_sip->SIP EP
Mostly everything works fine except chan_h323 is not passing
audio from PSTN before the call is answered and as a result users
can't hear PSTN announcements (like "the number is not in service")
that's played on unanswered call. All they hear is just continuous
ringtone as though

GnuGK Nufone H323 -HEAD - Prefix issue
Greetings-
As most of you who monitor this list know, I've been messing about
with Asterisk -HEAD, Cisco Callmanager, and the nufone H323 channel
driver here for some time- with pretty decent success. I'm hoping to
cash in a chip here- I've run into something that is probably a very
simple answer, yet not found a decent reference to resolve it.

Oh323 channel problem
Hi,
I'm using Asterisk 1.2.3 with the asterisk-oh323 channel driver, version
0.7.3.
Pwlib is V1.8.7 an OpenH323 is V1.15.6.
Following CallFlow:
SIP-UA -> OpenSER -> * -> CCM
OpenSER routes all calls with prefix 60 to Asterisk, where I've configured
following extension:
exten => _60.,1,Dial(OH323/${EXTEN:2}@v.w.x.y)
v.w.x.y is a Cisco Callmanager where Asterisk is

chan_h323 as a gatekeeper?
hi
IIRC, Jeremy once said that chan_h323 could be used as a gatekeeper but
perhaps lacking a few features as compared to gnugk. Is this possible? I
have some dlink DPH-100H phoes here for testing, but they require a
gatekeeper, and if I can do it, I'd love to keep gnugk out of this.
thanks

oh323 - unable to install
I'm and Asterisk@home user - been so now for almost a year.
Lately, I've upgraded to the latest & greatest.. (which is built on 1.2.5)
and am unable to install oh323.
I've already asked over at the (A@H) Sourceforge forum but no one seems to
think it worth answering.
The error I get is pretty obvious but I don't know where to go from here.
More importantly, I need to have

Asterisk Cisco CallManager Integration
Hi,
Where can I find information on H.323 for Asterisk and/or integration with
Cisco CallManager in particular?
<http://www.voip-info.org/tiki-index.php?page=Asterisk+Cisco+CallManager+Integration>
I have oh323 working on Asterisk. Since the CallManger I am working with
is running 3.3.3 I cannot use SIP...
Thanks,

woomera doesn't work (same OpenH323 problem as with chan_h323)
Banging my head against a brick wall trying to get a working H.323
implementation for CVS-HEAD. (The ONLY H.323 I have had working is
OH323 v0.6.5 with CVS-STABLE - see my other post regarding compile
problems on OH323 for HEAD)
So, I thought, lets try this wonderful chan_woomera (dubbed "H.323
for Asterisk that works!").
I get exactly the same kind of problem as I have previously had

Help in oh323 Gatekeeper + does not know what to do when bridging the call
Actually I am facing a problem with H.323 (the standard and the ooh323) with Asterisk vesion 1.4.25 and I discover the following:

Chan_H323, G729 (minor problem)
hi ..
I have finally managed to get Chan_H323 & G729 working
flawlessly, thanks to some help from Jerry McNamara.
For those out there who are stuck with the same problem
the procedure is :
1. install on RedHat 8.0 and nothing else (RH9 doesn't work!)
2. Install asterisk, zaptel etc. the normal way
3. Compile Pwlib & oH323 with versions taken from nufone's
site

oh323 to h323
Hi
Debian has a package for chan_oh323 (the original, external h323). It is
not maintaind for quite some time AFAIK and also AFAIK offers no real
atvantages over chan_h323. So I'd like to remove it.
Before I do that, I have some questions, as I'm not familiar with H.323
channels:
1. Are there any useful features oh323 supports that h323 doesn't? That
the version of h323 in 1.4.21
