CentOS 6-6.3 -> no updates and security fixes?
Hi All.
I've found:
This directory (and version of CentOS) is depreciated. For normal users,
you should use /6/ and not /6.3/ in your path. Please see this FAQ
concerning the CentOS release scheme:
http://www.centos.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=34
If you know what you are doing, and absolutely want to remain at the 6.3
level, go to http://vault.centos.org/ for packages.

Using CentOS on commercial product.
Hello,
I've sent this mail when I didn't subscribe this mailing list.
Now I subscribe and I sent again.
I'm sorry to bother you.
Our company make and sell some measurement system controlled by PC.
We use Red Hat Enterprise Linux on the PC currently.
We are thinking CentOS is another option for us.
There is no technical issue but we don't have enough information about license.

Migrating from RHEL 4 to CentOS
Hello,
I'm thinking about migrating from RHEL 4 to CentOS. Is there a document that
provide pointer / guidance for doing that ? or is this document:
http://www.centos.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=19
relevant enough to follow in my situation ?
I understand that I should probably strip the install of any RedHat images,
trademark, etc, as to not infringing any copyright. So I am

Website Error...
For lack of knowlege of a better place to put this, I'm

If you know what you are doing, and absolutely want to remain at the 4.2
level, go to http://vault.centos.org/ for packages.

Problems migrating from WBEL
Hi folks:
I've recently migrated one of my production servers (bad Jason!) from
WBEL to CentOS 3.3 using Donavan's instructions in the FAQ
(http://www.centos.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=19). While it
was as painless as the document suggests, I've run into problems with
postgrey (a postfix greylisting daemon) on my server. Whenever I try
to start postgrey, I get the

Migration
Hello all!
I'm new to the list. I just upgraded 3 White Box Linux servers (database, application and internet) yesterday to Centos 3.4 using the info in
http://centos.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=19.
Very easy, and that was a very helpfull document!
The decision was based in the speed of updates, really much faster in Centos! Is there a similar way to upgrade a Fedora Core 1 server

there is a readme there that states.....

RedHat to CentOS transition
I installed RHEL ES 4.0 on a new server because I had the disks. The problem is that the new server does not have a RedHat network subscription and can't use Up2date to keep itself current. We set up a script that just runs apt once a week, but I am curious whether there is some way of changing the box into a CentOS machine and using your Up2Date to get updates from one of the mirrors.

More questions about patch management
I'm still trying to get an idea about how best to handle patches on
CentOS.
Say I want to apply security patches automatically on a nightly basis.
But when the push from 4.2 to 4.3 comes around, I want to defer that for
when I can do it manually.
Is that possible? (Preferably with yum, but I would use up2date if that
were necessary.)
Also, I'm used to doing 'yum update'. I

[OT] RedHat's licence, CentOS rebuild
Hello,
I've been talking with some friends about the Redhat's SRPMs release
issue. I've been reading the trademarks and some points of GPL. But
get some confusion around the questions:
Is redhat forced to release the sources of its product?
Is redhat forced, due GPL licence, to make the sources of its product
available to others (including those who don't buy the distro), and

WhiteBox 4 -> CentOS4.1 - Yum
Hi
Is it possible to swap the yum.conf from my centos box onto my whitebox
box and have the whitebox machine use centos updates through yum? CentOS
seems further ahead and far quicker at roll outs than whitebox?
thanks
