Newbie config help? Wellgate 3701a
Hi again,
Kind of sheepish about asking for help, as I have only spent a day
banging my head off this...
I got my new Welltech 3701a, 1FXS,1FXO gateway.
I flashed it with what is seemingly the appropriate firmware (SIP
V1.04). This seems to have gone ok, and it is now registering both
ports ok with asterisk. For 1 minute I thought I was home free and and
everything was just going to work

Question about callerid?
Hello again Asterisk people.
I am running Asterisk 1.42 on an old PowerPC ibook. I have had this
deployed for several years now, with pretty good results.
Recently I added a callerid service to my landline (qwest).
I am using the audiocodes MP114 2fxo/2fxs gateway, which is an
outstanding piece of hardware once it's configured (lol).
Anyhow, I can see that the gateway is passing

RE: Answering Machine Function?
-----Original Message-----
<snip>
Is this possible with asterisk? Anyone have a sample dialplan?
-other than the problem outlined below I would try something like
S,1,wait(20)
S,2,voicemail(uwhatever)
S,3,hangup
That should ignore the call for 20 seconds and then leave a message in the
unavailable greeting for 'whatever' then hangup
That leaves another problem -

Samba with a Win9x network and RoadRunner
Hi everyone...I'm at a dead stop setting up Samba, so let me jump right into
the problem:
First, the setup: I have a RH7.3 box and a W98 laptop. The RH box also has
a W2k Pro partition. We have them on a 4-port 10base-T hub along with our
RoadRunner cable modem.
Now on to the problem: As most of you are already aware, RR uses DHCP to
assign IP addresses to client machines at boot time.

Samba AD with external DNS server
Hallo,
We have Samba4 (Sernet, Version4.1) on a Debian Wheezy server. There we try to
use our Infoblox (It is our primary and secondary DNS server) as an external DNS
server for the active directory on the samba4 server. It doesn?t matter which
setup option (Samba_internal, bind_dlz, none) we use it doesn?t work.

Another Shot At It
After receiving no response to yesterday's message, I tried some more web
scouring and more tinkering and dinking around with Samba...and I discovered
what may be a major key to my problem...
I have 3 PC's...2 are Windoze and 1 is Linux. Windoze machines are likely to
understand how to share files across subnets using the same workgroup
name...but is Samba as adept? I have a feeling

JRuby and callbacks?
Hi all,
Any Java/JRuby folks on the list? I''d like to see if we can implement
api.c for JRuby using JNA and see how it handles the callbacks.
I''m not a Java guy, nor do I know JNA, but I''ll take a stab at it if no
one else on the list does.
Here are a couple of useful links:

Problems configuring a PRI...
I'm trying to get a Qwest PRI configured and working with my lab
Asterisk server. They said that the switchtype is 5ess and the signaling
is pri_cpe. My entries into zaptel.conf are:
span=1,0,0,esf,b8zs
bchan=1-23
dchan=24
loadzone = us
defaultzone=us
channels=1-23
And my entries in zapata.conf are:
language=en
context=telco-incoming
switchtype=5ess
signalling=pri_cpe

svn problems
I can consistently segfault the 0.10.4 gem, so I''m trying to get the
subversion version working with hopes towards tracking the problem down.
I have a fresh SVN checkout but:
a) the version (in ferret.rb) claims to be 0.9.6; and
b) Ferret::Index::FieldInfos and a couple other classes are missing at
run time. It looks like this is because they''re not exported in the C

Unraveling a FAR*
Hi all,
Just looking over fole_s_connect() in win32ole.c and I noticed this bit:
hr = CLSIDFromProgID(pBuf, &clsid);
...
hr = GetActiveObject(&clsid, 0, &pUnknown);
...
hr = pUnknown->lpVtbl->QueryInterface(
pUnknown,
&IID_IDispatch,
(void **)&pDispatch
);
Using win32-api, that would be something like:
IID_IUnknown =

Playing with NtQueryInformationFile
Hi all,
I''m trying to get the allocation size of a file via a file handle
(rather than its name). The example below works for FileNameInformation
but I can''t get it to work as expected for FileStandardInformation.
Here''s some sample code:
# query_test.rb
require ''windows/handle''
require ''windows/error''
include Windows::Handle

Qwest can't/won't
Hello--
I've been making note of a local situation that seems somewhat
irritating, and thought maybe some of you experts out there, might be
able to propose some alternatives.
The situation goes like this:
Rural Wyoming. Cody, to be exact, but I'd wager that you could almost
anywhere in Wyoming and find similar situations.
The county gov. phones and the school system phones do not

Session handling busted on Oracle
Hi,
Ruby 1.8.6 (one-click)
Camping 1.5
I''d submit this as a bug, but the tracker says I''m forbidden, so here
you go.
The first problem is that the sql to create the sessions table is
broken. This is what it tried to send:
CREATE TABLE sessions (
id NUMBER(38) NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY (38), --> Problem here
hashid VARCHAR2(32),
created_at DATE,
ivars CLOB DEFAULT
