Having trouble with extensions in an include file and retrieve_extensions_from_mysql.pl
Folks, I've been running asterisk successfully using the extensions.conf and voicemail.conf. Now that I've got asterisk happily looking up MySQL tables for the VM configuration, I decided to try out the contributed script /usr/src/asterisk/contrib/scripts/retrieve_extensions_from_mysql.pl I edited the script so that its output goes to a separate extensions_from_mysql.conf file. The

Anyone having trouble with VoicePulse Connect?
I've been using my voicepulse connect number for over a month now, but today it simply won't connect. My partner and I each have a number, both are mapped in my iax.conf and extensions.conf files. This has been working fine. Today, either number gives this message: Feb 16 21:53:14 NOTICE[4330]: chan_iax2.c:5757 socket_read: Rejected connect attempt from 66.234.228.170, request

Extension Response Slow
Here is my Extensions.conf file (Default Context). When an individual calling in dials the extension, the response time seems very slow. It doesn't immediately go to the next step, but hangs out for a few seconds (silence)... Suggestions? problem with file_column storing images and other files
I have a model called ProductFiles which associates an arbitrary amount of image and documents with a product. I am using the file_column plugin to manage the upload and storage of the images, like so: class ProductFile < ActiveRecord::Base # Accepted MIME types, mime types that are not part of this list are rejected MIME_EXTENSIONS = { "image/gif" => "gif",

Throroughly confused about SetCallerID
Folks, I've been trying to handle the problem where blocked callerids appear as coming from asterisk <asterisk> on the email notification, and the message envelope simply doesn't say anything (does not actually play the vm-unknown message). So, following the tip provided by several previous posters, I tried putting this in my extensions.conf (the xx's are my DID,

WaitExten question
I'm a bit confused about how WaitExten works. I assumed that when it returns 0, the next priority in the extension would be executed, but that doesn't seem to be the case. When I get to WaitExten and enter extension 8, it plays the message, then Waits another 10 seconds and times out. [local] exten => s,1,Wait,1 ; Wait a second, just for fun exten =>

Asterisk server with remote monitoring capabilities
Hello, all. I'm tired of having to drive out to the colocation facility each time my dedicated asterisk server craps out, just to press the button to do a hard reboot. (I'm running 1.05 stable at present, no telephony hardware, as this is mainly a system that receives calls, no dial-out ability is needed.) I've been looking at the fancy xeon-based systems listed on ebay for a couple

Voicemail() problems - Long pause after incoming message recording ended.
I'm having the following problem: I call into my Asterisk box (RedHat Linux 9.0, 1 Digium X100P card) to access voicemail. After dialing the appropriate extension I get voicemail, am presented with the user's unavailable message, and can leave a message normally. The problem comes when I press "#" to end the recording, at which point I am told "Your message has been

IAX DIDs, Illinois
I have been looking at moving from SIP-based DID (Illinois) providers to one that uses the IAX protocol for DIDs. After a search, I've come up with the following: http://connect.voicepulse.com -- $8/month, many rate-centers http://www.iax.cc -- $1.50/month + 0.014/min, many rate-centers Can that be all that there is? I like the pricing plan at iax.cc, because it would allow me to set up

How do I get DIDs for remote areas in Canada
I want the ability to setup DIDs in a variety of different remote locations in Canada. There are various providers that have DIDs in major cities, but none that focus on the "smaller" cities. The question is how do I actually setup these DIDs? Thanks, Geoff

Toll Free DIDs
I have several toll free numbers that get forwarded to a single local number assigned to a trunkgroup. I've asked the telco to not forward those toll free numbers but to assign them as DIDs to the trunkgroup, so that I can differentiate via DNID. They said that they can't do that. That toll free numbers must forward. I know that I could have them each forward to different local DIDs

Asterisk causing server to hang ... any hints?
I am trying to set up a simple Asterisk server. All it's going to do for now is to act as my voicemail box. I've got a DID from Voicepulse, and am using IAX (I'll get to SIP someday when I want to circumvent the phone company for long-distance, but for now I'd be happy to get a trial version of Asterisk running). So far, I've managed to set up voicemail.conf, extensions.conf

Any pointers are much

Multiple tennants, two DIDs, One IAX provider
I would like to setup a system with two tennants with two seperate DIDs through one IAX provider account. Is it possible to route the calls into different contexts based on the DID dialed? I have searched and found nothing. I do not see anywhere in the console that says what DID was dialed so I am thinking two seperate accounts are needed to make this work. Can anyone confirm? Thanks
