Basic Asterisk capabilities question
Hello, I am very new to Asterisk, so please forgive me for my basic
question. I couldn't find a good answer to this on the info boards. I'd
like to know if the following is possible and reasonable to accomplish:
I'd like to configure a voice recording system using Asterisk and a
Tormenta2 Quad T1 card. A co-worker was able to create this system a while
back with Bayonne and a

Bayonne and Asterisk
All,
is anyone using Bayonne in conjunction with Asterisk? I'm currently using
only Bayonne, but I'm investigating the possibilities of switching the
telephony frontend over to Asterisk, and have Asterisk route the IVR tasks
to Bayonne through H323.
Anyone care to share his views on this approach? Any pointers or do's and
don'ts? All info is greatly appreciated!

Dialogic channel pricing
Speaking as former Dialogic/Bayonne user who was frustrated for months with
Dialogic's complexity and months of initial testing with GlobalCall only to
use their many-years-old and very complex base Dialogic drivers(and
eventually scrapping it all for Digium/Asterisk and being up one week
later), I can tell you that Digium/Asterisk is definately the way to go.
It is 1000 times easier to

Recentely i'm experiencing some problems and i am planning to migrate

Asterisk and a D/42NS
Hello,
The company I work for deploys and manages telecom hardware for small- to
medium-sized businesses. My boss has asked me to investigate Asterisk as a
possible PBX for deploying to customers along with IP phones. The general
layout would be:

Problem with tor2 driver and Zapata Tormenta 2 Quad T1/PRI Card
Hi All,
I'm having a bit of a time getting my Tormenta 2 card to actually be
seen by the system. Whenever I modprobe, the kernel spits out the
following (in addition to the "insmod tor2 failed" messages):
Invalid Xilinx 8 bit Base resource
Registered Tormenta2 PCI
Of course, the module says that its registered a Tormenta2 card, but it
unloads the driver and frees related

Fair comparison
I was trying to do a little searching to see if there has even been a
comparison between Asterisk and VOCAL or any of the other OSS packages?
"Practical Voice Over IP using VOCAL" published by O'Reilly and
Associates, attempts to make a strong case about how scalable VOCAL. Of
course, considering that the book is written by the makers of VOCAL, it
tends to have a one sided slant.

Asterisk vs. Vocal (Vovida) vs. Bayonne
Folks,
I love Asterisk, have been using it for a while now. I'd like to know if
anyone has some good comparison points on Asterisk vs. Vocal (Vovida) vs.
GNU Bayonne. I know only a little about the later two.
Also, one drawback I've hard about Asterisk (not for me, but for general
consumption/deployment) is easy of configuration -- people like GUIs. They
want point-n-click. I'm a

New to IP-PBX
Hi,
I'd really appreciate it if you can explain this to me.
I have a D/41JCT-LS Dialogic board and I want to use it as an IP-PBX.
I'm new to IP Telephony and telephony and general and I researched a lot
but still confused about what I really need.
I know that I can setup an IP-Telephony for my LAN using a SIP server
and SIP compatible software phones. But the challenge is how can I

Compatibility with Dialogic D4/PCI
Has anyone gotten Asterisk to work with a Dialogic D4/PCI card?
It is not on the list of supported hardware, but the card itself is very
similar to the D/41JCT-LS, which is on the list of supported hardware. I
have several of them that I would like to use.

(I'm hoping that it is compatible and the list just hasn't been updated).
Thanks

Dialogic Hardware (Take 2)
Please rest assure that I have been following the * development for a
while and understand the value the Digium hardware gives me vs any other
vendor. Most of the people on this list probably know whats good for
everyone else, but I like to find out for myself (I am not a CNN junky).
Now the * site mentions Dialogic as supported hardware at:

How to Dialogic 240/JCT-T1 interface with Asterisk?
Hello all Asterisk Users,
This is my first post here.
We are in a process of moving Dialogic 240/JCT-T1 from old voicemail server
to Asterisk box.
Which card drivers do we need?
Please share experience if anyone have successfully configured Dialogic
JCT-T1 card with asterisk?
Only source proves that this card work with *

Hello all,
I found a LSI161SCREV2 Dialogic board in one of my drawers, and i was wondering if by any luck, i could make some magic happen with asterisk ... If asterisk does not support it, is there any PSTN to H323 or PSTN to SIP gateway that support this dialogic card and that can be connected to an Asterisk Box?

How much to use Dialogic?
Aloha,
I have an application to build an eight conference bridge for a Norstar.
I would have a converter to turn the digital ports into analog with
disconnect supervision.
On the digium site I only saw a single port FXO card. I would like to use a
higher density FXO card like a D/41 or newer from Dialogic.
I noticed in the handbook 2 (draft 3/30/03) that there is a price to use
dialogic cards

Does Asterisk support legacy Dialogic products?
Hi all,
I just checked out that Asterisk which is a platform I am interested of. I would like to install it to the Linux box for a trial. I have some legacy Dialogic hardware on hand, don't know they will work with Asterisk or not. For analog loop start interface I have Dialogic D/41 E which is of ISA bus with four Telco interfaces. Will it work on Asterisk?
Best regards,
Patrick.
