Any one know of software that allows 2-way radios as VoIP(SIP) clients, besides dingotel's usb & mic cable trick ? http://www.dingotel.com/2way/requirements2way.asp They might be ok if the SIP client was not hardcode to their own SIP proxy Has anyone tried any hacks to get the 2-way radio SIP client to regsiter to a * box. hmm chan_frsgmfrs anyone? using the usb/mic cable under linux :)

Re: FRS and GMRS via *
You don't need to reinvent anything to tie radios to *. Ham systems like IRLP, Echolink, eqso etc all have fairly tight controls to keep from being abused (although with a little Linux knowledge, the IRLP package can easily be used to set up your own network using their protocol). Jim Dixon seems to have done the work to integrate radios with * already. See

Re: FRS over *
On the various technical issues raised here (OK, we posted the rules, we won't discuss the legality anymore) I think there is only one main obstacle to using FRS radios for extensions on *. They are simplex (push-to-talk, release-to-listen). The protocol for dealing with voice-activated-switching (VOX) has been used in ham and public safety simplex autopatches but it's really tricky

dingotel - connect Asterisk to 2-way radio?
So has anybody got one of these? http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007LQQUK/qid%3D1106972010/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/102-1529886-6420131 I'm thinking that it should be possible to connect it directly to an Asterisk box and not use their software, as long as there was Linux support for the USB dongle. Maybe it just looks like a standard USB audio device? But there has to be an

IPCLASSIFY - patch based on IPMARK
Hello everybody! Some time ago I''ve decided that using the MARK property of the Linux IP packet structure for the needs of traffic control is not very useful. So I wrote an iptables patch called IPCLASSIFY. It is fully based on IPMARK but it uses the PRIORITY field instead of MARK. The relation between IPCLASSIFY<->CLASSIFY is the same as IPMARK<->MARK. By using

Ruby app to rails?
Hi. Im am considering porting an c++ application to Ruby, and me company would also like to have an web-version of this particular application. If say there is an XML validator in the app. Then can Ruby and RoR share this in an easy way, so i wouldnt have to maintain 2 branches of the same XML validator. Best Regards. DCdiag tests
Hey all, has anyone done dcdiag against his DC yet? It's made from a windows client on command line: dcdiag /s:<servername> What are your results? With me some of the tests were not successful, e.g. ForestDNSDomain. My dcdiag is German so its output would not be so helpful for the mailing list. So somebody else can do a check to compare? Thanks in advance Tim

RSpec 0.7.4 released
Hi all, I released RSpec 0.7.4 yesterday, and by now the gems should have rsync''ed to all the mirrors. This release features a complete redesign of the reports generated with --format html. You can see some examples of it here: http://rspec.rubyforge.org/report.html http://rspec.rubyforge.org/tools/failing_examples.html As usual there are many bug fixes - mostly related to spec/rails.
