ATA & T.38 Fax
Does anybody know of an ATA that works well with * and supports T.38 fax relay? The Cisco ATA186 does not support T.38 and I don't think the Sipura does, but I don't know for sure. I'm not talking about running fax over an ATA with g.711, I want actual support for T.38. Thanks. Peder

At home Asterisk via Broadvoice?
Hi all - sorry if what I'm asking is FAQ by now - I only have 2789 digest messages that I've not read yet... ? The local phone company (Bell South) has gotten completely out of hand with their rates, and with them suing anyone who wants to compete against them...? So, I'm thinking very hard about going ALL VOIP here at home. ? Hardware I have: Old 586 chassis Old Pentium II laptop

Sipura 2100 and Asterisk and Fax
I've just made an interesting observation that I'd like to share with you all: the popular Sipura SPA-2100 just doesn't seem to be as great as I'd hoped. I've been trying to get inbound AND outbound faxing working via Asterisk and at least one of my termination services: Voicepulse or Sixtel. In general, inbound has been working flawlessly but outbound has been pretty

Firefly / LibIAX2
Hi Does anybody know how to build the LibIAX2 from Virbiage? It has some nice features when using Firefly (Messaging, Status Indication). The source can be downloaded here: http://www.virbiage.com/3rdparty/. It does not contain any directions how to compile. Any hints? Thanks! Reto

IAX - lan ip phones.
Apart from the "virbiage" FT-201 which hasn't seen the light of day yet, just wondering if there are any other IAX phonesets around available NOW. Don't get me wrong, the Virbiage unit seem to be in the right price range, its just not available yet... Gary .

Virbiage FT201 IAX Hard Phone
Does anyone have any recent news on the Virbiage FT201 IAX Hardphone? I'd *really really* like to deploy these phones instead of SIP hardphones, and I can't help but wonder if I'm going to shoot myself in the foot (or another sensitive area) by deploying a ton of SIP phones just to find the IAX Hardphones were released a week later... Thanks, Brian D'Arcy

Looking for a commercial version of an IAX2 Softphone
Hello All, I have been looking for a commercial version of an IAX2 Softphone for Windows but the ones I have came across (i.e. Iaxcomm, Iaxphone, Diax) do not seem to have an updated version since April 2004 in some cases. We looked at Firefly but we sent emails to Virbiage/Freshtel with questions and could never get a response from them. Has anyone got any recommendations for commercial

Sayson IP Phones?
Have the Sayson IP phon started to deliver yet? I'm thinking about two new phones for my office and considering the Sayson 480i and Zultys 4x4. Would also consider the Virbiage phone if it becomes available. I have Snom 200s and a Pingtel phone at the moment. Michael -- Michael Graves mgraves@pixelpower.com Sr. Product Specialist

New Firefly release - 1.9.3
There's a new firefly release out for those who are using firefly with your lovely asterisk / SIP server. http://www.virbiage.com/firefly/download/firefly-thirdparty.exe the main changes are improved GUI fixes (mouse wheel works now :) ), few url parsing fixes, mic volume control and improved compatibility with SIP servers (namely SER). IAX2 softphones keep ringing....
Running AsteriskNow, with FreePBX front end. Have two users who use softphones on notebooks in the field. Problem is that if the softphone receives a call, but the user is not available to pick it up, Asterisk will send the call to voice mail as normal, but the softphone will continue to ring...... I've tested the Virbiage and x-Lite softphones, same issue. Is there an IAX setting in

No Sound (2nd post)
Hello anyone who can help I have two Asterisk boxes with identical hardware (Dev & Production). I recently rebuilt the DEV box using Fedora Core 3 and the latest CVS Head. The hardware is an Intel CA810e, onboard everything with a PIII processor. The config is pure VOIP using IAX2 & ilBC with Virbiage Firefly soft clients. I also use Ztdummy which seems to be working ok - no error

New Firefly version
As Promised, I've released a new version of Firefly (ver 1.8) with IAX & SIP support back in. Get it from Virbiage site or here's the direct link http://www.virbiage.com/firefly/download/firefly-thirdparty.exe If it crashes on startup, export your Firefly tree from the registry (current user -> software -> firefly), then delete tree from your registry. If that fixes it, send

Configuring Firefly Network in *
I did get it to work, and can place and receive calls through the Firefly network via *. Compared to iaxtel or FWD, there is a significantly higher amount of latency, but it is workable. For some reason, this needed to be the last entry in my iax.conf or it would try to authenticate with a different user ID when receiving calls (and obviously would fail. Relevant section from my iax.conf:

soho fax suggestions?
Need to replace our older soho fax machine with something more current. Would like to run the fax line through *, but haven't been able to make spandsp work correctly with digium TDM04b card. Our fax volume is very low (maybe a few per week), but we have multiple offices in three geographic locations and would like to be able to email the images to the correct location. IAX FXS.. Any experience with...
http://www.x100p.com/products_2.htm Anyone ever use this box? How's it compare with the Iaxy? I'd like to buy one or the other.. The Iaxy is appealing because to me, it seems less "no name", but this one says that it supports using hostnames, whereas apparently the iaxy only supports IP addresses?? That's appealing to the dynamic DNS guy in me! :-) Any
