RE: Asterisk-Users Digest, Vol 7, Issue 323
I fear that list digest did not forward to me all the messages... buying cell phone adapters is quite unfeasible at this point, since the installation at hand uses 8 BRI for outgoing calls, and the customer negotiated very special rates for handling all the traffic through his voice carrier. Moreover, in italy you have 4 cell phone operators, and you should add a bunch of call phone adapters for

DTMF out to Cell Phone
I set up a monitoring system that calls my techs when a problem occurs on one of our networks, everything works fine unless asterisk calls a cell phone in which case the tech can not respond using dtmf. It works fine if the tech call in but not if asterisk call a tech's cell phone. Anyone one have any suggestions? Thanks John Fullington

dialing FXO gives wrong billsec
Hi all, I came across a new(to me that is) issue. I want to know from others what they have done to resolve this. I have a 4 port digium card with FXO's, and connected to each FXO is a premicell. When I dial the premicell, after about two seconds is says 'ZAP/1 answered', then it takes a few more seconds for the call to hit the cellular network, before the cellphone starts to ring.

Check for the voicemail
Hi all, I have a problem with voicemail. My boss has asked me to send via email, the message that a user leaves on the voicemail. This is very easy. :) After, he asked me to check before sending the email, if the receiver's mailbox is full. If the mailbox is full, Asterisk should call the receveir intern (example 2001) and using a Playback tell him that his mailbox is full. How can I do?

GSM to ISDN or TAPI
Hi I am in the UK and am looking for a device that will allow me to connect two sim cards (read wireless lines) to either the port on the back of my fritz card or any other connection direct to the PC that provides a usable telephony interface. I will even plug two devices into a windows box and have that do ISDN to ISDN if required. All I want is two GSM lines that look like voice modems to

spandsp Makefile.patch
OK...I pulled down spandsp 0.0.1k today and followed the instructions. However, I'm not seeing a Makefile.patch anywhere. I've looked through the last few months of messages and haven't found any reference to it missing for anyone else either...so...what am I messing up here? Thanks. Number portability in other parts of the world.
Are phone numbers portable in other countries? Are the same rules and conditions that exist here in the States mirrored elsewhere? How does a person in Europe go fully VoIP and still keep the main number? Do they use call forwarding? Is their another way to use an origination carrier without loosing your number? t1 won't dial outbound
I've posted this problem a couple of times before with little or no response. Basically I have a T100P in my * box. Incoming calls are working great. However outgoing calls are not working at all. I've copied a previous post into this message which should have all the necessary info. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Mark

Static on outgoing calls using either X100P or TDM400P
Hello. I've seen several posts talking about line quality using Digium cards that are sharing IRQs or on machines where X is running but after trying all of those fixes I am still having a problem with line static on outoing calls. BTW, calls that are from one extension to another extension have no static, however, they have occasional clicks and pops. At any rate, I was wondering if

Question about EuroBRI final 2 digits
Hello, I have an installation in Austria; ISDN service provided by Austria Telekom. The main number of the service is 6 digits. Incoming calls may contain 2 additional digits, which I then use to route the call to the correct extension. Telekom sends me all the digits. My problem is that when someone tries to dial an 8 digit number to an extension from an outside analog phone, AT sends the call

Basic Samba functionality under SuSE 9.2
I'm trying to get Samba 3.0.9-2.3 to work under Suse 9.2. This my very first Linux install and I'm a little at sea here. There are so many things that could be wrong I don't know where to start. The Windows machine I'm using as a client has TCP/IP, file/printer sharing, and Client for MS networks. He can't see the linux machine's ("Tolkien") shares, but he

TCP/IP block size
I don't know if this is a Samba question or an OS question. I'm working on an embedded project (microcontroller, limited RAM) that reads files from a FreeBSD/Samba (FreeNAS) box using TCP/IP transport on port 445. They're MP3 files so they're several MB at least. If I request 512 or 1024 bytes each time, I get 1024 bytes back from Samba every time. That's good. But, if I

Deploying libvirt with live migration
I have two physical servers: Virt1 and Virt2. I'm setting up live migration with CentOS 5.5 between the two. I've done this by NFS mounting /etc/libvirt and /var/lib/libvirt/images on both servers. This is working well for me except for one thing. I see the same list of VMs on each server (as expected), but each server (Virt1 and Virt2) are able to start the same VM at the same time.

question about PSTN pickup
hi all, you'll have to excuse the ignorance (i'm a software guy, not a telcom guy..) Is there any way to know if a channel has been answered by an automatic system (like voicemail) rather than a human being? Specifically, I want to use a .call to make a call on a channel and only do something if a person answers, not a machine of any kind. Is this even possible, or is an answered
