Provider with GA DIDs and LNP
Hi, I am looking for a provider that can provide DIDs in Atlanta, GA (national in future) and who can port an existing number. LiveVoip is a perfect fit but doesn't do LNP :-(. Currently I only need a handful of numbers ported, but will have more requirement in future. I'll need unlimited simultaneous incoming/outgoing calls (can pay for incoming as well). Any pointers are much

Bug in SUBSCRIBE handling : running out of RTP ports
While trying to deploy a bunch of Polycom IP 500 phones, I ran in to the following. I limited the RTP ports from 8000-8050 to limit holes in firewall. Pretty soon Asterisk ran out of RTP ports. Traced the problem back to how * is handling SUBSCRIBE. A sip structure is allocated as soon as a request is received, which also allocates RTP ports. Normally, this is not a problem as the structure

Polycom 301's drop last two digits of dialed number
Hi All, Having a rather annoying problem with the Polycom 301 phones, suspect it to be my dialplan. Basically if you lift the receiver off the handset and dial a number, it will not let you dial a number longer than 10 digits (Can see this being acceptable in US, but in UK its a right pain). As soon as the 10th digit is entered, it starts to dial and the number is invalid. If the phone is left

Using ActiveRecord in FXRuby application
Hello, I am a newbie to FXRuby development. I like the fact that I can write the code in Ruby for cross-platform GUI development. I am developing a desktop application that needs to save some information to a database. I am using ActiveRecord for this purpose. My code works fine when I don''t require fox16 and include Fox. But once I do that I get a bunch of warnings. Here is the sample

Good provider of Polycom Phones (mostly for access to latest/greatest firmware)
Hi, I've ordered a few IP501s from PC Connection, basically since we have an account with them. I like the phones for what they do, and now would like establish a relationship with a reseller that can give us maintenance and access to the most current firmware. What are some good resellers out there? Regards, --- Gavin Adams VP of Technology Promisant (USA) Inc. Email: me@gavinadams.org

Polycom IP 500 SIP bootrom and firmware upgrades
I am using version 1.4.1.0040 and 2.6.1.0003. I have read about newer versions out there, how can I get them? I'm having an intermittent issue regarding DHCP with one of my phones, and I recall when I loaded 1.4.1 on this one phone, it failed once, then it succeeded the second time. I am wondering if a firmware update will help. Or is there any known issues with Fedora Core 2 dhcpd and IP

How to know the environment (development/test/production) inside a worker - FIXED
Hi Guys,Looks like I have to do this in backgroundrb.yml :backgroundrb: :ip: 0.0.0.0 :production: :backgroundrb: :port: 11008 # use port 11008 :environment: production That is, have an entry for "environment: production" under :production:, This seems to have fixed the issue. Fitting linear models
I am not sure if this is an R-users question, but since most of you here are statisticians, I decided to give it a shot. I am using the lm() function in R to fit a dependent variable to a set of 3 to 5 independent variables. For this, I used the following commands: >model1<-lm(function=PBW~SO4+NO3+NH4) Coefficients: (Intercept) SO4 NO3 NH4 0.01323 0.01968

Cell phone dialed digits too short to be recognized by asterisk
I'm having a big problem where digits dialed from certain cell phones are too short to be recognized by my asterisk server. I'm running AAH 2.8. Some cell phones don't allow the caller to hold down the digits and have the tones play as long as they hold them down for. They just play a short tone no matter how long you hold down the digits for. Has anyone run into this before, and if

Asterisk/Polycom Dialed Party Name
Hi, We are in the process of moving from an Avaya Definity to Asterisk for our institution's phone system. I got one feature that the Avaya had, which I have not been able to reproduce with Polycom phones and Asterisk; since this feature seemed so small and useless to me when testing, I kind of ignored it. Now I am getting more "I miss that" requests than I expected. =) On the

Collecting dialed digits
I am trying to set up an auto attendant for the first time, and am having trouble getting to the submenu. My extensions.conf file looks like this: [incoming] exten=> s,1,Background,menu1 exten=> s,2,Wait,20 exten=> s,3,Goto,s|1 exten=> 1,1,Playback,option1 exten=> 2,1,Playback,option2 exten=> 3,1,Playback,option3 It is my understanding that asterisk treats the digits entered

Wait doesn't read DTMF? Was Re: Collecting dialed digits
A) Modify res_musiconhold.c and the application "WaitMusicOnHold" to accept DTMF breakout B) Create a call queue with a timeout of X and configure the DTMF options properly. Then you can drop callers into this queue and effect a music on hold for X seconds and allow DTMF breakout with no C code. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk@billheckel.com [mailto:asterisk@billheckel.com]

Asterisk 1.4.5 Inserting Random Digits in Dialed Number!
Eeeeck! Asterisk is inserting random digits in dialed numbers. So far I've seen it insert a 2 after the STD (area) code and insert an extra 6 or 7 in the STD code. It's pretty repeatable although the inserted number changes. My Config is: Asterisk 1.4.5, Zaptel 1.4.3, Digium TE205P (rev 02). There's an ISDN PBX on the second span and a BRI euroisdn on the first. Calls from the

Asterisk Lists (was Re: Asterisk Business discussion again)
Why not create a listing of the Asterisk resellers. Have a link off the main Digium page and post what asterisk services that particular reseller offers. This way people who are just getting into asterisk know where they can go for commercial support. Maybe the reseller could offer some sort of discounted rate for people who are referred to them through digium? This would boost sales for
