IAXy and Private IP
Hi everyone, I'm going to install an IAXy in my client's office but there the internet conection has a private IP address, however the Asterisk server has a public IP. Private IP Public IP (IAXy)--------(ISP LAN)-----------((Internet))-----(Asterisk Server) This setup can cause any problems to the comunication process? I'm aware that

IAXy - no dailtone
I have a brand new IAXy I'm playing with. I do not get a dialtone on the phone, or any response at ll on the phone. No sound, no dialing, no ringing. The phone and wire are tested and known to be good. I think I have it setup correctly. When I give the iaxprov command I get this: #iaxyprov 192.168.1.90 iaxy.conf 02: c0 a8 01 5a 05: 11 d9 03: ff ff ff 00 04:

IAXy and DHCP
Hi, I've got an IAXy, and provided it with connection data - unfortunately didn't provide a fixed ip address, but left with dhcp. Everthing went fine, and I could work a while with it. After a restart of IAXy, it didn't negotiate a new IP address, nor used the old one. I even restarted the DHCP server and cleared its cache. No success. I went to another office with a different

IAXy Static... and other issues
Hey Everyone, I recently purchased a few IAXy units for some testing, and have come across a some problems. One of them can be provisioned but will not ring the connected telephone. It also does not provide a dial tone when you pick up the phone. When a call is made to the IAXy one of the green lights on the board goes from a solid on state, to a flashing state that coincides with the

IAXy Port number
The file used with a Digium IAXy device: "iax.conf" has the line: "port=5036" (I also use the "bindaddr=192.168.1.91" entry) but when Asterisk talks to the IAXy device it used port 4569 (from "tcpdump"). How are the port numbers assigned? What tells the IAXy which port to use. The IAXy provisioning file "iaxy.conf" file does not specify a port

Digium Iaxy S100 Factory Default?
Hi All, I have two old S100 units (the blue ones, not the newer black ones). I am trying to reset these to factory default using the following instructions, but it is not working. Does anyone have any other suggestions to reset this model of the adapter? Tried this: 1. Remove all of the cables, except for the power cable. 2. The factory reset button is next to the RJ45 jack. Press and hold the

IAXy echo avoidance/cancellation
Ok, I searched the lists and found no definitive answer. I'm assuming the IAXy has some primitive form of echo cancel, is there anyway to adjust this? Or any ideas on what to do instead. Here's the setup, this will not be a typical setup for our company however, well whatever. Anyway it looks like this: IAXy --> Netgear router --> Charter --> Level3 --> Asterisk --> VOIP or

IAXY Polarity
Yesterday I was using one of the cheap Radio Shack phone polarity on various phone outlets in my house and ended up plugging it into my IAXY. While the regular phone jacks tested OK, the IAXY tested as being reverse polarity. The tester was plugged directly into the IAXY so there is no chance of this being caused by crossed wires. Is this something that is misconfigured on the IAXY, a hardware

Where to get IAXY firmware and documentation
Hi! Could someone please tell me where in the CVS tree the IAXY firmware is and the utility used to install/flash the IAXY? Or a perhaps cvs command that shows me which directories are available in the CVS? I did 'man cvs' but can't find such a command or flag. Also is there any documentation for the IAXY in the CVS tree or anywhere or C comments I can read somewhere to glean some

IAXy problems -- and no documentation
I bought an IAXy just about a week ago, and I'm having a problem with it. I provisioned it without any problems. It's on the same network segment as my Asterisk server. It registers just fine. When I call from the IAXy to a Zap channel, it works fine. When I call from a Zap channel to the IAXy, I don't get any audio from the IAXy, only from the Zap to the IAXy. Near the beginning

Busy signal from IAXy when not connecting to my Asterisk box
I'm having a problem with my IAXy not always connecting to my Asterisk box. When I pick-up the phone plugged in to the IAXy I get a busy signal. I have to hang-up the phone and wait a few seconds after the orange LED goes out and then try again. When this happens I don't see any connection attempts in the Asterisk -r output. When I do get the IAXy to connect to Asterisk I get a

IAXy Provisioning Using Windows
For anyone playing around with IAXy(S100i) devices, I am making the following available: Windows IAXy Provision v1.00 This is a from-the-ground-up development of a means of provisioning IAXy devices using a Windows environment. For some users, being bound to Linux for IAXy provisioning is not viable or convenient in some cases. This application provides a GUI data entry for the various IAXy

Soekris net4801 and IAXy dhcp issue
Hi all, I have a Soekris net4801-50 board with OpenBSD 3.9 where I've configured a dhcp server and tested it with a regular PC connected directly via a crossover cable with success. The problem comes when I try to connect my IAXy device instead of the PC. I can see with 'tcpdump -nettti sis1' that the IAXy isn't sending any packets to the dhcp server. I thought my IAXy was bad

Codec issue with my iaxy
I just bought a new IAXy box and am only achieving one way calling. Both iax.conf and the IAXy support ulaw and gsm. When I try to call, however i get this error: Feb 11 15:20:32 NOTICE[7963]: channel.c:1893 ast_read: Dropping incompatible voice frame on IAX2/iaxy-2 of format ilbc since our native format has changed to ulaw I added support for ilbc on the IAXy and in iax.conf and am still

IAXY codec support and questions..
Hi.. I have to setup an extension in a remote location that will use a cordless analog telephone.. I am looking at the IAXY to do this for me..Basically the data path will be as follows... [Asterisk] == (NAT) == {Internet} == (NAT) == ATA -- Handset Since there are two NAT boxes in the path I know SIP won't work.. I also don't want to move the Asterisk box to the internet side of the

DTMF leak with IAXy & call waiting Bug?
I have only been able to confirm this issue with my IAXy as it is the only ATA I have. I am running 1.2.5 stable. Example: User @ exten 100 (iaxy) receives call from PSTN (call 1). While on the call, another user from PSTN (call 2) calls 100 (iaxy) sending a call waiting beep to the iaxy. User 100 answers the call from PSTN call 2 putting PSTN call 1 on hold with music. While call 1 is on

Strategy for a stable IAXy
I've heard comments about the instability of the IAXy (loosing IP, locking up, etc) . I want to deploy some, in a remote site. The comments on the instability suggest that the simplest approach is to power-cycle them when you have problems. The IAXy would only be in use from 3PM to 8 PM. My potential simple solution is to have a timed power brick (like what you would use for a block heater)
